Had my first spring training experience here earlier this month. As a resident of southeast Michigan I'd rather have gone to a Tigers "home" game in Lakeland but our itinerary didn't allow that. Home games seem to be a flexible concept down here in the Sunshine State anyway, with teams playing many hundreds of miles - or kilometers if you're the Blue Jays - away from their home stadiums. Besides the inevitable Blue Jays Crew we saw plenty of other Tigers fans, a good number of people wearing Phillies gear (Philadelphia's spring training home is very close to Dunedin), Tampa Bay Rays fans and just quite a few people wearing random sports clothes from various teams and even sports. A Jacksonville Jaguars fan was in the house. It's a cute little stadium. I like the blue and white motif. Kind of reminds me of old Tiger Stadium though they use a darker, richer shade of blue here. The concourses got a bit packed at times. It seems people get up and walk around more at spring training. There was even a concourse lounge area with cornhole games and people chilling in chairs. We had seats in the outfield along the left field foul line. Seating seemed to be like the Wild West. When we first walked up there were people in our seats. They moved and had to shoo people who were in their seats. Later after we went to get concessions and came back there were people in our SEATS again who claimed people were in their seats. It seemed to be this chain reaction of everyone just sitting wherever. It seemed like too big a pain to try to get our proper seats back so we just moved to the closest row to the field in that section which had empty seats the whole time. So we got an upgrade from the tomfoolery and didn't have to snitch to an usher. Concessions were decent. Nothing to write home about but I was very pleased that as the southern home of Toronto Blue Jays TD Ballpark had Clearly Canadian flavored fizzy water. I love that stuff. I enjoyed a couple bottles. The Tigers were easily beat by the Jays and much of the play on the field was shambolic and/or halfhearted. I get the guys who are already Major Leaguers treating this games as more just shaking the rust of and getting into shape but some of the prospects who should be trying to make a splash and get moved up seemed to be on easy mode, too. One guy was keeping score which was just so hardcore and hilarious to me. So many substitutions. So many little known guys destined for the minors. There were a few players on the field only rocking numbers, no names. Not worth all that stitching when someone else might be 58 tomorrow. Mad respect to the monomaniac keeping score. There were some "Let's go Blue Jays!" and "Let's go Tigers!" chants that went back and forth, sometimes involving only one or two people on each side which were still easily heard in those less than massive, lowkey stands. Fortunately the prices were less than big league but I think it's probably worth it to pay more to see MLB regular season play. Spring training seems to be more about hanging out and vibing. I heard so much small talk in the stands about all kinds of subjects. I wonder what minor league games here are like. I'll probably never make it back but I do wanna see the Mud Hens in Toledo. read more

TD Ballpark in Dunedin is a historic venue and you can definitely feel the character when you attend a game. The park has been around for more than 50 years, and to its credit it's been well maintained. The field looks great, the seating areas are clean, and it has the classic, intimate feel you want from a Spring Training ballpark. That said, the biggest issue is the lack of shade and cooling options for fans. Florida spring afternoons can get very hot, and there simply aren't enough shaded areas or cooling stations throughout the ballpark. During the game we attended, it wasn't surprising to see local first responders needing to assist fans who were clearly overheated. Everyone understands that Spring Training games in Florida will be warm, but it feels short-sighted that more hasn't been done to address fan comfort. With the resources of a Major League organization like the Toronto Blue Jays, adding more shade structures, cooling areas, or misting stations would make a big difference and improve the overall fan experience. TD Ballpark has the charm and history you expect from a classic Spring Training stadium, but improving heat relief for fans would go a long way toward making the experience more enjoyable for everyone. read more

The park was set up nice, being able to park right at the park was marvelous, and their food and drinks were great. I go to a lot of local Single-A games near me, yet coming here was different. The crowd was friendlier and into the game which is unlike at home. There, you only talk to who you came with. At this game, we all left with new friends. Spring training is America's annual transformation from cold to warm when millions of baseball fans head to the warmer climates of Florida and Arizona to shake off the winter blues. We didn't care if the players were likely to start their season with a minor league team; it's the thought that summer is right around the corner. I chose to see one of the more affordable teams, the Toronto Blue Jays. They play at TD Ballpark in Dunedin, Florida, which, after spring training, is the home of the Dunedin Blue Jays, the Toronto Blue Jays' Single-A affiliate. Parking was $20 at the VFW, and the proceeds went to their organization to support veterans. There were other parking places, like on people's front yards, but we heard complaints about door dings and other damages. We noticed lawns were tightly parked, meaning they cared more about making the most money and less about your vehicle. We observed one homeowner telling the driver to move closer to the next car. It had to be less than six inches between vehicles. We'd rather have peace of mind by paying more money. TD Ballpark offered sunscreen, which helped us avoid the inevitable sunburn. Although we applied it after our adventure to the Gatornationals the day before the baseball game, we noticed that the Blue Jays store sold sunscreen for $12.00 for a small bottle. The prices for food and drinks were the standard MLB costs, which is expected since they're packing these minor league stadiums. They did offer Poutine, a dish of French fries and cheese curds topped with brown gravy, which was an unexpected menu item, although the cost was $11.00.  The team store offered a lot of spring training merchandise that isn't offered online. They had everything from spring training-themed apparel to Toronto Maple Leaf/Dunedin Maple Leaf apparel. On a side note, most teams will gather in the morning for workouts, but the real focus is the afternoon game. You can show up early and see who you can catch at the morning workout. You're welcome to observe from a respectful distance, and teams are very explicit about where you're allowed to watch. read more

TD Ballpark is a great activity to do in quaint Dunedin! Located centrally, there's a lot to do within walking distance. Whether it's the packed out Spring Training or the Minor League Season, it's always a fun time! I enjoy the minor league season through out the Summertime because of the low ticket prices, short concession lines & night games! The ballpark employees work hard to ensure everyone has an outstanding time & the single-A baseball players love the support from the community. Went to the blue jay - yankee game today. They have done a nice job renovating the ballpark. Eddies bar has moved up to left field above section 115. Be prepared to pay though as the drinks are not cheap. Looking at $10 and up for a drink. Also credit cards only. Typical ballpark fare here so nothing spectacular. They have a very nice store and I bought a Dunedin blue jays mini bat. Was cool that Ace comes and takes pictures with everyone after the game and it has to be hot in that costume. Be warned- if you are a Yankee fan get tickets early. We ended up paying $68 a ticket sitting all the way out in lf. The raspberry cider was damn good. read more

Have been going for 8 years, always excellent in every way. I always look forward to a delicious hot dog, until today. It was God awful, tasteless, on a bun I could tap with my fingernail, and it made noise! Had to rip the entire bottom portion of the bun off, as it was so hard. Will still go back, and thankfully the Bluejays won, but hopefully someone will check out this situation! read more

Just went to the newly renovated ballpark this weekend and had a great time! Parking is still private, but I saw options as low as $5. We parked nearby at a plaza for only $10. The ballpark was spotless with lots of food options. There's a ground-level stand on the far right selling many different cans of beer, priced at $7.50 and up. The pretzels are sold on the far left. They even sell poutine! I like the area in the far left with the picnic tables and chairs that allow you to relax in the sun before the game. The net that covers the whole field is easy to see through from the stands. The digital scoreboard had great resolution, but they still don't show any replays. Ace was out in the stands and on the field entertaining everyone. There's also lots of food vendors selling beer water, and lemonade up and down the stands. They should really wear a big button showing the price of what they are selling so you can get your cash ready ahead of time. The Jays Store is now huge, selling all kinds of merchandise. read more

Bored on Friday night we decided to go to TD Ballpark to see the Dunedin BlueJays. That night they had fireworks. The burgers were good but under seasoned. Next time i'll bring some salt packets. The popcorn was eh. The bottom-filled beer was spot on. We got our $8 tickets on the 3rd base line and quickly figured out to move to the first base side, out of the sun. No problem moving as 90% of the seats were empty. We learned, after we bought our beers, that margaritas and frozen drinks are 2for1 every Friday. We love minor league games, especially watching the crowd and how excited they get. The Jays lost in 11 innings; but, the fireworks were great. We'll be back especially on boring Friday nights. read more

It's a minor league/spring training level ball park so anyone expecting it to have the same amount of amenities as the Trop is going to be disappointed. That being said, it is recently renovated and very nicely set up and appointed. Not a bad seat in the house, a decent sized clubhouse store and the basic food items you need. Clean restrooms and good service - plus they are taking Covid seriously and are great about enforcing their mask policy. What's not to like! Only weirdness is they have no parking associated with the stadium so you will have to park in a private lot or someone's lawn. read more

Would have gave 5 or 4 stars if it was not for the AWFUL PARKING. Be prepared to pay neighbors money to park on their lawn. This was our first time there so we did not know but this is what we had to do. Luckily we found someone because we were a little late and it was full. If you come to late you may be screwed have tickets and never be able to park and get in. Everything else was great. Seats were great a little out in the open for alot of them but its baseball. good food good drinks great other then parking. read more

Went here for a minor league baseball game, Charlotte Stone Crabs vs our own Dunedin Blue Jays! It's a bit different than a spring training game. The stadium is small, parking is sparse, and there's not much to it. Saying it is "bare bones" is insulting to skeletons. I could see how this would be an issue during spring training games, but for MiLB it works well. It's almost an intimate, private sporting event. I strongly suggest you go to evening games though, as anything before about 6pm will have the sun roasting most of the stands. Baseball remains my favorite live sport because it's weird, cheap, and encourages interaction and singing. Singing! Could you ever get away with belting into song during a Bucs game? Security would show you the door in a hot minute. This tiny venue epitomizes baseball. Everyone is friendly, prices are low, and there's a very good chance you can get a game ball or autograph from some up-and-comer. While the cost/benefit ratio can be a little out of whack if you live far, MiLB is a great diversion for a few hours, and this place is the perfect spot for it. If you're a Canadian looking for a bit of home in the baseball world, TD Ballpark is for you. There's signage for Rogers and WestJet (sponsor of the right field deck), a Canadian flag in the outfield, and of course maple leafs all throughout with the Blue Jays logo. There's even poutine on the menu at the concession stand (did not try it this time). Silly notes aside, this recently renovated stadium (2019-20) is clean and well maintained. Feels a bit smaller than Clearwater and Tampa, with the main grandstand not as tall, but it's modern and fresh. Eddie's Bar is in left field with air conditioned space to get drinks. There's a walkway all around the stadium (common at the 4 Tampa Bay area parks) with some tall chairs and a 8-12" wide table in left field, bathrooms and a water fountain in center field, and more seating and tables in right field at the WestJet deck. The Blue Jays store is well stocked and there are two concession stands that were both open even on a sparsely attended minor league game on a Tuesday night. Plenty of bathrooms and great views of the game all throughout the stadium. It's a nice place to enjoy some baseball! read more

I've been here for a few Dunedin Blue Jays games. It's not nearly as crowded during their season as it is during major league spring training. They have the usual concession stand food and dink and I thought the prices were reasonable. There's also a nice Eddie's bar down the left field line. Since it's not very crowded you can sit wherever you want...even in the front row. This ballpark is nice to visit in the evening and just a very short walk from downtown Dunedin. read more

It's Spring Training Baseball between the Toronto Blue Jays (Sanchez) vs Baltimore Orioles (Wright) at 6:07 tonight! For the second time in my life, I get to take in a live game in Florida. We bought tickets on-line for $27 USD. Stadium parking was $20 USD but lots of homeowners we leasing their lawns; as cheap as $5 with a 10 minute walk to $15 a block away. However considering our seats were socially distanced, I won't be back as long as we're required to wear masks while seated in addition to socially distanced seats. Really fun place to see a ballgame. With the Jays being exiled from Toronto I was eager to head down for a regular season game in Dunedin. I went to the Phillies game on 5/16 and had terrific seats behind the dugout. Even got a toss up at the end of the inning from Vladdy! The atmosphere here was pretty relaxed and definitely a fan friendly place to be. If only all regular season ballparks were like this. Tickets are sold in pods of two and you didn't have to keep a mask on while at your seats. Had so much fun attending that I decided to drive back down the following weekend and attend a game on 5/23 against the Rays. This time we had seats at the West Jet seats in Right Field. Somehow it was all overtaken by Rays fans, well most of the ballpark. Rays fans are pretty clueless. You'd think that this was their first time at a ballgame. It was pretty annoying that there was no food out in right field. They closed off the walkway because of its proximity to the bullpen. So you have to walk through left field and go by home plate (main entrance to grab food). Yeah I didn't want to miss 2 innings so I stayed put. Thankfully I ate before the game. The food at TD Ballpark isn't spectacular so I highly suggest eating beforehand. Parking also ranges from $10-$20. You can park anywhere it's only a few minutes to walk. Well the Jays are now off to finish their season in Buffalo. This was the most fun I've had at the ballpark in quite some time. This is a great spring training ballpark. Tickets are affordable. The place looks well kept. The staff are friendly as can be. The food isn't bad and they have plenty of restrooms. You can find parking just a short walk away for free. Downtown Dunedin has plenty of restaurants if you're feeling hungry after the game. I'm not even a Blue Jays fan and I highly enjoyed it. read more

The remodeling was great. The ballpark looks much more modern. Be careful in the outfield, homerun balls can pop. Especially during batting practice. And in right center field, there's a nice area to sit on the grass. My friends and I liked the food. I got a hamburger. Pretty decent for a ballpark hamburger. The souvenir shop is well-stocked and you're going to encounter helpful people working there. Great ballpark. I'll be back. read more

So glad to be at spring training but what a disappointing ballpark in terms of food and drinks. I've have found better food at my daughters high school stadium. Budweiser products only and the bare minimum in basic stadium food (hotdogs, popcorn, nachos, etc.) Now compare that to the Phillies spring training stadium (BayCare Ballpark) where there is a full selection of the food basics with delightful other food venders selling sliders, grouper sandwiches, etc, wide variety of craft brews and a full bar. read more

Clean but no frills. This stadium was the least outstanding of the Grapefruit League ball parks we visited. There are few seats with shade - none of them behind home plate. You can't walk around the outfield which is rare. The staff is friendly. There are multiple parking options in the area. read more

This ballpark is beautiful, but there is almost no shade at all during day games. You would have to sit in the last rows in left/right field to get any shade. I would recommend going to evening games if you do not like to bake in the sun. Other than that, the park has a festive atmosphere and is easy to get around. read more

Brand new beautiful park as of 2020 but ... No need to blast music at 100 decibels prior to the very start of the game and after something happens on the field - it's very irritating. You can't even carry on a conversation with it blaring. Hopefully they'll turn it down. read more

I went here for the Blue Jays / Rays regular season game on May 24th. I love this stadium, and the tables right above the centerfield track were such a great choice...comfortable Adirondack style bar height chairs, and so nice to have a table! However..... We went to get a drink and as we paid, there is no place on the credit card receipt for a tip...huh?!? And no tip jar was allowed, apparently. So these poor bartenders are out there working a major league game and getting tips only from those who happen to have cash on them (remember, the Rays games are all completely cash-less, so I was well trained.) The bartender I spoke to about it says the management thought it was "awkward" for fans to feel obligated to leave a tip if there's a spot on the receipt. Clearly, they have no experience in food and beverage...it's WAYYYY more awkward that I COULDN'T leave a tip! Change that situation for your staff, TD Ballpark, please. Not fair. read more

Easily the worst of all the major league spring training stadiums in Florida! It's no wonder the Toronto Blue Jays rarely compete! Do yourself a favor and skip the ballgame here and hit the beach in nearby Clearwater......Stadium, despite being built in 1990, has the feel of being built in 1925......tiny concession stands, terrible walk ways, limited services in every way......it is now called " Florida Auto Exchange Stadium ", last year called "Knology Stadium"........but should be called "Wrecking Ball Stadium Disaster"!!! read more

To me, this is true spring training baseball. One of the last remaining old school, quaint ballparks around. Sure, Brighthouse Field is nice and comfy, but if you are a fan of the traditional spring training feel then be sure to add this to your list of spots to catch a game. read more

I love MLB spring training baseball because at all these venues you are so close to the action but this park is the worst for many reasons: It has the fewest seats in the shade- they do know they are in Florida right ? It has the worst most over priced concessions in history: Hot dog that is so small its a joke- small in length and thickness- total ripoff. The soda pop is a cup size out of 1970- small- oh wait - 1970 wants that cup back. Even the bottled water is a smaller size. BTW, the concession lines are all short or nonexistent for a reason- people know about the ripoff cheap products. I do have one regret for writing this- someone there may read it and get free advice to change things. lastly I ordered a pretzel and said I just want it plain- so the lady wipes all the salt off it- you cant make this up. I said whats this ? I didnt say no salt. So instead of giving me another one she sprays it with something and sprinkles salt on it and the wrapper then began to stick on contact with the pretzel so now I have wax paper sticking to it. what a bunch of self serving cheapskates. I have been to almost all Grapefruit league venues and this is the worst by far . read more
