We stayed in Dunedin for a week and tried to see and experience as much as the town offers. We struck gold the day we visited the art center! All their galleries were full. They had a wide variety of artis5s from painters to sculptor and more. We really enjoyed our visit. This is a "Don't Miss" experience. read more

What a wonderful finding on my Clearwater trip!! Having the NARM membership sharing card certainly helps to discover museums I would never have stepped into. This museum has Art Classes; painting, cooking, jewelry making, metal work and kids art classes. Undoubtedly, these smaller art museums sometimes have very interesting collections of art. But, the most captivating pieces were created by children! Murals, collage paintings, pictures and sculptures. In the back, there was a fascinating YOUTH GALLERY AND HANDS ON MUSEUM. They held a Kids Art Camp in the Summer. You could tell this room was created by instructors with a passion for kids. Another wonderful free museum experience with my NARM membership. read more

This is such a great place! They have so many class offerings and the main campus is beautiful. I recently took a Spanish Moroccan cooking class and it was incredible. You can bring your own wine, the Chef talks you through every step, and the end result - better than a restaurant! The classes fill up quick, but this is a great idea for a date night or to spend time with friend! read more

Free and full of life is what I think of when I step in the doors of this Art Center in Dunedin! It is so cool that one can not only take classes here, they can also step in as if they are in an Art Museum. There are a number of rooms you can step in to see the different types of art. It is quite interesting and fun. In one wing, they have the classrooms. You can look at their brochure and see what classes they offer. They also have different events for the Public. There is also an artsy gift shop when you first walk in. I love art and creativity! This is a great place to find it! read more

Wonderful regional Arts resource! Library! Art classes, studios, chef led food studio classes! And delicious gourmet Cafe! But wait, there's more... gift shop is superb, like an art fair with diverse beautiful creative offerings. The clay classes with Allison were a great place to dive in for 6 weeks of fun. The seminars and gallery showings highlight the amazing local talent. Love this place. read more

What an unexpected treat this place is! Found of the existence of this Mecca of all things art through an unrelated Instagram post. I had seen a beautiful little Venus sculpture and I became obsessed with getting one. After some research found out that they were currently being sold at the Dunedin Fine Art Center gift shop. I made a little trip out there in a Saturday and it certainly did not disappoint. I went to the little museum shop which was filled to the brim with treasures and got my hands on my little Venus sculpture. While there I also discovered all of the Ana omg classes available at the museum. Everything from cooking to clay sculpture. And there are one to two day workshops as well as multi week courses you can take. If all this wasn't enough...I made my way to the museum restaurant which is small but mighty. I had myself the best shrimp and grits I have eaten in my entire life. I mean yum. They also have special dinner nights there which I will definitely be back for. What a fun day to be had at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center! read more

We have been to several shows over the years. We brought our granddaughters 3,6,and 9 here last year. When they came down this week, the one thing they all had on their "lists" was to return to the center's children's activities area. Again it appears to be the highlight of their week. read more

Relatively new Children's Art Exhibit is educational, inspiring, interactive and lots of fun for kiddies! Great summer program for kids and teens can volunteer to act to help take care of kids! Summer program includes a daily rotation of drawing, arts and crafts, clay working, and painting. Lunch and snack times. Adult and youth classes available. Exhibit gallery has expanded but is sitll on the relatively small side. read more

My daughter attended art camp here. I wish there was more of a "mixed" crowd. She liked it ok, I definitely feel they taught plenty. She felt overwhelmed, she was a beginner and mentioned most of the kids seemed to have been going there for prior summers. I am proud of her, although she was not thrilled about going everyday I feel she learned quite a bit from photography, art programs, and pottery. Best of all an opportunity to create beautiful pieces of art for her portfolio. The only thing that bothered me was on her 2nd or 3rd day she could not put her pottery wheel together, the teacher would not assist and kept saying "somebody mustve been sleeping yesterday" when in fact she was not there that day! I don't know, me personally I dont think you should belittle or embarass a student especially, being the teacher, you're there help! Im an adult and I don't know how to put a pottery wheel together. I chose not to say anything only bc my daughter asked me not to. :( read more

My daughter is going to the Art squad camp and she is very bored. The teachers are rude and disrespectful to the kids and parents. The dark room teacher cannot write a clear note on the door and then she tells the kids "Geez people can't read these days". I already reported her to the youth director about this incident. Don't waste your money on this camp unless you want your kids texting you to take them home on the second day because they are bored. I also hear the teachers are also yelling at kids for no reason and telling bad jokes. read more

The museum is small, awkwardly arranged, and half the exhibits don't work. The class we took was very rigid for the age range (6-8) and we did not like the way the teacher spoke to the students. When we talked with the management they seemed unconcerned and unwilling to work with us. Will not be attending classes there OR visiting the museum again. read more

What a hidden treasure! We couldn't believe the amazing hands-on kids activities available here. We were staying in the area and a local recommended we go in. My three boys eight and under and I spent the day here. There is a stop motion animation filming station, a green screen, a fantastic undersea toddlers play area, and plenty of traditional art supplies in various media, several different types of architectural blocks, a "moon sand" table, among many other stations. It sits amidst a beautiful recreation area with a playground and a small lake. Great place to picnic.I didn't get a chance to see many of the actual art exhibits, because we spent the whole day in the kids area. We will definitely be back! read more

Although I am a Clearwater resident, I enjoy the benefits of the Dunedin Fine Art Center adult classes. The learning atmosphere I have experienced as a novice "artist" has been extremely valuable and enjoyable. This review is for the summer camp program, but the way the situation was handled was so poor, that I would discourage anyone from utilizing this facility for anything. My son has enjoyed summer camps at other places before, but ever since his experience at DFAC he has developed Separation Anxiety. The experience there was so horrifying that he refuses to try other camps out. His take on things: the teachers were mean and demanding when parents weren't around, and he was put down for not being able to cut with a scissors yet (a kid your age should be able to do this!), and he was told that he could not do art the way he wanted (tigers are not those colors so you may not decorate yours that way!), and he was "tormented" by some bullies in the unattended restrooms. Not only should I feel that my child is safe when I drop him off at a summer camp, but also, I thought that, of all places an art camp, would foster creativity and not put kids down for being at different levels. but apparently this "fine arts camp" has different views on how to treat kids. Also, for myself, I didn't like the fact that they let the children watch movies up to 3 times during each camp day. If I wanted a break, I can turn the TV on for free at home. I pay for camps so that they can teach and entertain my child, not numb him out with movies that I didn't even approve. I mentioned as nicely as I could that we try to limit screen time and that I was sending him here for art and fun, and asked if they could find some other way to entertain the kids. I got a flat out NO. then I asked if he and his friend could use the play area right outside the room during Movie time, and even though they had 3 teachers in the room during movie time, they said NO, because nobody could watch them. I decided to talk to the person running the children's programs and he was so very rude that I honestly couldn't believe it. I tried to nicely explain my dilemma. The "manager" started off in a defensive mode and got worse and meaner as the conversation went on. I then asked if I could drop out and get a refund. the answer was NO. I had already signed up for sold out class coming up. I asked if I could just drop that class and get a refund, for they surely would have someone take his place. and they answered NO. He was so unprofessional that I couldn't believe this person was allowed to be in charge of the program. I have another quip, I thought that a fine arts summer camp would be more "enlightened" than cheaper ones, yet there choice of snack was regular animal crackers (cookies) and kool-aid type lemonade, pretty much all day long, every day. Not a very healthy option. We brought our own snacks. whatever. but more importantly, My friend's kid has severe allergies and told them not to let him eat the snacks. And yet, they let him eat them anyway. Luckily he didn't have an allergic reaction. I couldn't believe they were that irresponsible. I was appalled by how bad this summer camp was and with how I was treated. I would suggest to anyone, to not take a chance, and to not give any business to DFAC. If not out of principle, then out of fear of how it might effect you and your family. read more
