This work should have been a 1 day job and cost $500, but I was told by one of the acting manager's (Hailey) they had trouble getting the part and that it would be ready 3 days later at $900. When I picked up the car, after 4 more days of having to call them to find out if the work was done, there was a large scratch running down my passenger's side door and my keys were held ransom until I paid the price quoted for the work to be done at the initial estimated time of 3 days. I heard multiple excuses each day why the work was not done on time and heard everything from: ordered wrong part, the old part broke trying to remove it, and they needed two days to get a drill bit to drill out the piece that snapped off. When I arrived at the location to pick up the car I contacted the Saugerties PD, and there was nothing they could do for a civil matter other than make an incident report. The only manager whose name is posted on the wall (Markos Peratikos) is not present at this location and was not available by phone when the police were summoned over the dispute - despite having spoken to him the day before to report the issue. I was standing there, in the shop forced to call the absentee manager because the acting manager (John Smith) refused to call him claiming he was "in a meeting." This was around 7pm in the evening. I specifically requested Markos call me back when I spoke to him earlier in the day to let me know how much I would be charged when I showed up to pick up the car. I never received a call back after leaving multiple voice messages before going to the location which is about an hour from where I live as this was an unexpected pulley failure. This place is a scam and absolute nightmare. I would never go back to a Monro anywhere after this experience. It pains me to write this as I from the Hudson Valley and saddened to witness how badly the commercial incompetence crisis has blighted this area. I am considering filing a claim with the court. These people should be ashamed of themselves and give decent mechanics everywhere a bad reputation. Be warned, if you value your time and capital stay away from this place. Needless to say they are not registered with the better business bureau.

This is an auto shop so nothing super fancy, the waiting room can use an upgrade but surprisingly the bathroom was in decent shape. I believe the four tires came to just about $460. A year later the new alternator failed, brought it back to Midas for warranty on their 2 year/24000 mile warranty. They tried charging my friend over $100 for labor when the company website clearly states that replacement parts AND LABOR are free for warranty service. I talked to the manager because my friend doesn't speak great English, he said he'd have to check the website to verify that warranty policy. THE NERVE! He knew damn well he'd been caught and wouldn't admit it. In the end my friend got the work done for free but they tried ripping him off. A SECOND time. $850 for an alternator? It's not a BMW!! Stay away from this garage!!!

I paid for the Deluxe Car Wash, $25!…read more Seemed like it was going to be great, two guys started out spraying the bejesus out of the car... went through the whole thing... no one checking the exit, so I drove right to Lowe's, my next stop after the wash... the roof of the car was like it hadn't been washed at all! That photo is taken about 5 minutes after the $25 wash.... I feel ripped off... I was going to drive down to Hoffman's and do it myself, but I was in a bit of a rush, so I figured it would save me a trip further south and I'd just let the pros (and the machine) work their magic. Milt and his gang are great. I had a problem with my truck and I thought it may be a transmission…read moreproblem. I took it to Sharp Transmissions because of the reviews and its a transmission shop. I work on my truck as much as I possibly can but dealing with repairing a transmission is out of my wheel house. I dropped off the truck in the morning and I got a call about 2 hours later. Milt told itme he had inspected the car test drove and it was not the tranny it was the power steering pump that had a small not noticeable leak but the fluid resevoir was almost dry and that was the noise I was hearing coming from the truck. He added power sterring fluid and solved the problem but let me know it something that will need attention down the road. I thanked him I picked up my truck later that evening. Drove the truck home ran like a charm. I will certainly take it to him again when I need work done. I appreciated his honesty he could have told me I needed a new transmission instead I got a honest and fair evaluation and fix. Thanks Milt glad to see that there are still good folk out there. The AAA tow truck operator asked me where I wanted it to be towed, and I immediately said "Sharp Transmission." The dropped it off and put the key in the after hours slot. Next day,I called Milt and said, take a look and give me my options. No rush, I said, since I have other cars I can drive. Milt and his crew found some time to not only diagnose the problem (two rubbng hoses put a hole in one), but to repair the problem. Same day! I picked the car up this morning and it is working perfectly. Like I said before, if you are not taking your car to Sharp, you should start doing so. Great service, excellent communication, attention to detail... Highly recommended.
