My car was fine until it was time to pay and i got told "the caliper piston was leaking and thats why the brakes felt weird" i replied they didnt feel weird before coming here (i know my car) So i go out to my car, start it, put it in drive and my foot literally goes to the floor as my car is rolling forward so i quickly put it back in park....my mechanically inclined brother goes to investigate and low and behold my brake hose was broken.....brake fluid all over the ground! THOSE BRAKE LINES WERE DONE 8 MONTHS AGO!!!! PRACTICALLY BRAND NEW!!!! What do i get told by people at vancleecks? That it was my fault, that i brought my car to them like that, they even went as far as telling me where i parked had brake fluid on the ground which it wasnt brake fluid....it was oil cause my car has an oil leak! So, close to $170 for them to do my cars alignment as close as possible with a broken brake hose that they broke but wont take the blame for....they just blamed me

I took it to Sharp Transmissions because of the reviews and its a transmission shop. I work on my truck as much as I possibly can but dealing with repairing a transmission is out of my wheel house. I dropped off the truck in the morning and I got a call about 2 hours later. Milt told itme he had inspected the car test drove and it was not the tranny it was the power steering pump that had a small not noticeable leak but the fluid resevoir was almost dry and that was the noise I was hearing coming from the truck. He added power sterring fluid and solved the problem but let me know it something that will need attention down the road. I thanked him I picked up my truck later that evening. Drove the truck home ran like a charm. I will certainly take it to him again when I need work done. I appreciated his honesty he could have told me I needed a new transmission instead I got a honest and fair evaluation and fix. Thanks Milt glad to see that there are still good folk out there. The AAA tow truck operator asked me where I wanted it to be towed, and I immediately said "Sharp Transmission." The dropped it off and put the key in the after hours slot. Next day,I called Milt and said, take a look and give me my options. No rush, I said, since I have other cars I can drive. Milt and his crew found some time to not only diagnose the problem (two rubbng hoses put a hole in one), but to repair the problem. Same day! I picked the car up this morning and it is working perfectly. Like I said before, if you are not taking your car to Sharp, you should start doing so. Great service, excellent communication, attention to detail... Highly recommended.

They charged 1 hour labor to change air and cabin filter (which jiffy lube changes in 3 minutes - literally). They charged a $70 waste-disposal fee so that $119 oil change apparently was $199. They charged for an hour of labor for a "200k checkup" which when pressed entailed "checking brakes and fluid levels". Another scam because the fluid levels were supposed to be part of the oil change - again, Jiffy Lube includes it. Total sham place that sells itself as a 'down home good ole earnest mechanics shop', but in the end it was exactly the sort of place to avoid. Watch out.

(Some car places have scorned how a female could know about carwork, but never here; in the past Mark has even said save money - you can fix this! And Eli is a fellow Dodge Dart fan, not that I have one any longer, sob sob). We go to them for advice on new old cars (last year we asked where we could find another Subaru Legacy, and they pointed across the street at the car they had just fixed - "there". Easiest search we ever had!) Combine this with being in walking distance, and we hope they never close!
