When I got their I filled out a form and then did my taxes. When the paper work was done the lady said that I didn't qualify for the RAL because the computer wouldn't allow to do a $600 loan. I explained to the lady I was told I would qualify for the loan over the phone. She stated that's the way to get people in the door. I said by lying to them? Whatever get's the customer in the door. I said I want my tax papers back. She said to late. Then she told me the fee for getting my tax money back. $49 for paper check or direct deposit or a Netspend card credit for free. Instead of paying $49 I went with the Netspend Credit card. Then she brought me my forms to find out they charged me $434.95 to file 1040EZ forms for State and Federal. Biggest scam ever never was told the fees. If could give them a Zero stars I would. I then called Corp. and filed a complaint with them. I was told the owner will call you in 24 to 48 hours. It's been over 72 hours and still no call. Called Corp. again and was told they would send a new email to the owner. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN. However, the quote that we received upfront for our tax preparation was considerably higher than what our actual invoice ended up being. While I'm happy that they adjusted the invoice, the communication from their office left a lot to be desired. I received an email to tell me that we were missing signatures on our e-doc returns when I had already emailed to confirm that everything was ready to go and to be filed. At the same time they told me that my taxes were not filed because I had not paid the invoice which was sent to me 16 hours ago. At no time that I know that the invoice needed to be paid upon an email receipt. I went directly to the office to pay the invoice on the spot and no one could tell me what signatures were missing. Very frustrated with the quality of service and the communication or lack thereof.

I was told by, I assume, the owner of Downriver Incomtax that ALL of my tax records were deleted. I believe deleting my tax records from their files is illegal since they must keep records for the IRS for possible auditing. I believe any reputable company would keep tax records for at least 10 years. Is something illegal happening that I am not aware of? Did this company cook their books to avoid paying taxes on my payments over the years? Those are questions that popped up in my mind. Moreover, when I went in to resolve the issue, Annette acted in a hostile manner, and claimed that in May of 2021 I had not brought in one of my 1099s (which I have record of doing), and said that they had no record of my check for their services (which I paid them for). Do NOT go to them for tax services.
