Was craving some tacos and remembered this little gem was close by. It's a small restaurant with limited space for seating but it has a lot of charm and you can tell it is family owned and run. Walked in to place my order and was met with two chill guys behind the counter who were so patient and helpful while I tried to figure out what I wanted. I ordered a few chicken, steak, and mushroom tacos and an order of Chorizo nachos. Everything is fresh to order so it did take some time for my meal to be ready. Every taco comes with diced onion, cilantro and lime. The chicken taco was well seasoned. The "steak" wasn't steak but rather shredded beef, maybe brisket.. but it was really delish. My favorite was the mushroom taco; it was seasoned so well and had the best texture. The nachos were okay but the cheese that was used solidified quickly so it was difficult to get a good ratio of anything on a chip. I came here when I was enjoying a day of sun at the beach on Far Rockaway and had the sudden urge for some tacos. I ended up looking for a taco spot on yelp and this was one of the recommendations in the area so I decided to try it out. They have a reasonable taco special of 3 tacos of your choosing (steak, chorizo, chicken or mushrooms) for a set price of $9. I initially wanted some steak tacos but they said they ran out of steak. I settled for some chorizo tacos instead. The tacos are very small but compact. They did lack a little flavor (some salt would have been nice) but were overall good. What I really enjoyed about this place was the customer service. I was served by two young men who I can only assume are the sons of the owner. They were very courteous and easy going to talk to. I asked for a glass of tap water and one of them had no problem giving me a nice tall glass with some ice in it. I wasn't able to sit inside due to COVID but they did have some chairs out on the front of the restaurant where I sat and devoured my tacos. If I am ever in the area again I will certainly come back and try something else on their menu. Hopefully next time they will have some steak tacos for me to try out the next time around! read more

They'd definitely move up higher if they used double tortillas; one is just not sufficient to hold everything together. The beef, pork and chicken are kinda non-descript, but the standout are the shrimp tacos. Highly seasoned shrimp, never overcooked. My gf says the mushroom tacos are some of the best vegan around. We got shrimp, chicken, and chorizo tacos, my favorite was the shrimp- so perfectly prepared , not chewy at all, the flavor was fresh and perfectly seasoned, and then the steak quesadilla -- the steak-- oh my goodness, the flavor and texture was out of this world! After receiving messages regarding my order being received and prepared, I received another message stating the food was on its way and will arrive between 8:00 pm and 8:10 pm. At 8:10 pm I receive a call stating, "something happened to the driver." and he can either cancel my order or... as I waited to hear another option, there was none. Then he confirmed he cancelled the order and hit the "food being delivered" button by mistake. Although he admitted his mistake, he was unapologetic and hung up. I was charged for my food and have not been refunded. This is totally unacceptable. The taco was $3 and it was literally 3 small bites...so you're essentially paying $1 per small bite of just mushroom and tortilla. The rice bowl was a small container of a ton of rice, a little chicken, and 2 teeny slices of avocado. It had absolutely NO taste. The chicken was finished in a couple bites and I ended up essentially eating $9 worth of rice. The most unsatisfying meal I've ever had. DO NOT GO HERE. When you get off of the Ferry in Rockaway, walk up to Rockaway Beach Blvd., turn right and walk a couple of blocks to about Beach 111th St. - You will be amazed. They really care about food.
