Got the Dankwrap and added Avocado. Overall it was pretty tasty, and very large so it was a super filling lunch on the beach. Only gripe was that the beef was spread throughout the wrap but the toppings (sour cream, lettuce, avocado) were all squished into one end so most of it was just beef and only at the end did I get to the good part. Came here after a day at the beach and loved it me. We got burritos and she also got an order of chips and salsa and really liked the salsa. It was much thicker than normal. I got the California burrito with carne Asada, and she got the burrito with Carnitas. Service Was a bit slow. It seems like they make everything at once. No one was getting their order for 5- 10 minutes and then suddenly 5 people got their orders, so I wouldn't say to come if you're in a rush, but definitely one burrito is quite filling and satisfying. There is free water room temp so not that cold. Why are so many of these places so hyped yet so mediocre? I've had both the carnitas and shrimp burrito from here. Both were "ok". Tried this little spot today for 1st time and it was really great. My son has been a rabid fan since they opened last year. The menu is simple, basically bowls, tacos, burritos & quesadillas. The kitchen space is bright , spanking clean & new & bigger than the dining space which right now is 3 or 4 small booths that are not available due to current Covid restrictions. There are some non menu specials posted that are geared to both Vegan & Carnivores appetites ! Prices are very fair. We took our food home and when I unwrapped the burrito I couldn't believe how huge it was. It was Insanely delicious & flavorful. Did not need Any extra sauces , great as is! My other 1/2 had 2 tacos & was also raving about how great they were. Going to make this a regular go to spot. I wish this place was closer to my house. I would be a healthier person if I ate this every day. I've been to the one in Rockaway and to the gorgeous new restaurant in Williamsburg. Love all the beautiful wood, stone and tile. Everyone was working so diligently and still took time to be so friendly. Very fun vibe! So many interesting people hanging out - having fun. The veggie burrito was incredibly delicious! The beans, veggies , cheese, sour cream. Etc, were layered in so perfectly that every bite included it all. The food was so fresh! This place was busy for a Monday night. The person working the cash register was very kind and acknowledged us right away, but seemed a bit stressed because it was so busy. There were a couple seats at the window open so we sat and waited for our food. When we got our food we sat outside, which was a nice option. We ordered queso and chips and a chicken burrito smoldered in enchilada sauce and cheese. The chips were just store bought which is disappointing, but what was really disappointing was the burrito. The sauce tasted like watered down ketchup, the chicken inside the burrito was dry and looked a grey/green color and the tortilla was mushy. We took one bite and threw it away. I was gonna go inside and get my money back because that burrito was completely inedible, and I should get a refund, but I was hangry and needed actual food. A complete let down and a bummer. The poblano and steak is good but it could be a lot better. The rice isn't good, the beans are kinda flavorless. The quesadillas are the best but if you go with all the fixings it gets soggy. If being wrapped to-go they should add the topping. Keep it separate. I'm so glad we have a burrito shop in Rockaway but this falls a bit short. I'm not ruling them out however. I didn't feel like cooking so did take out at Super Burrito. We had been before, but it was well over a year. A burrito is comfort food, basic, and made with care. The last experience I had there it was a solid burrito, but not this time. My husband mistakenly ordered the chicken instead of the beef. Overall, this burrito was a let down, especially for $15 after taxes. The size was there, but it was tasteless. The tortilla was not cooked. I mean, come on toast the tortilla on the grill for heavens sakes. The tortilla was raw and that was a major turn off. I think they were bought from Stop & Shop across the street. The water from the watery tasteless beans and watery unseasoned diced tomato combined with some sour cream made the entire thing a mushy tasteless mess. The rice had no flavor and was clearly just made with some tomato sauce and salt like Uncle Ben quality. There was also no salsa or sauce (verde, rojo) in the bag to put some flavor in it. The "grilled chicken" wasn't anything to write home about it was just there to add bulk. The menu is very limited, which isn't a problem because they are all about the burrito, but no they aren't because these burritos are edible, but not enjoyable. If your restaurant is built and named around one dish then that food item needs to be outstanding. There was no love put in to this burrito. The flavors as well as the accompanying parts were just not there. I gave two stars because the food was fresh and my husband said the servers were very nice, and the ambiance is fine. I hope they improve or I just went on an off night because the peninsula desperately needs good food options. read more
