My friend booked us this experience because I'm in town visiting and she thought this would be a good thing to do. We had a scheduled ride at 12 and they texted and said it would be rescheduled to 1 p.m. so we get here at 1 p.m. and there is no bus. There was a bunch of other people who were also part of the 12 o clock ride and was waiting as well. We get another text that it was re-scheduled again at 1:45 and another bus pulls up at 1:30 and we of course think this is our bus but no it's the 1:30 ride. Of course they allow them to get on the bus and not us although we've been waiting. After all that saying, they send another text at 2 p.m. saying it was cancelled. Gorgeous double decker bus. Arrived late& therefore rushed the service. The food looked wonderful but had been prepared so early it had dried out a bit. That could have been saved if there were more to drink. One small bottle of water (no seconds) and 4 very small servings of hot tea. You won't be disappointed. We really enjoyed ourselves. The only other tea that I have been to was at the Fairmont Hotel in Banff,Canada. I did not have high hopes for one on a moving bus with fake flowers. Well, I stand corrected. First of all, I was highly impressed by the cleanliness on board the bus. Our servers were pleasant young people who actually seemed to enjoy their jobs. We had a great time! The tour is great if you want to get a nice overview of city highlights. This was the worst ride ever they put us at the back of the bus which was 85°. They had the Caucasians at the front of the bus which was cool. They served us seafood which we couldn't eat because it was so hot and someone could've got sick from the food we only did 30 minutes because it was so hot. It was unbearable so we could ride short. They told us we got back that the manager was gonna be out there to provide a resolution with rescheduling us are giving us a partial refund, then call customer service they give you the runaround they rude. I would never do this bus ride again. I was planning on taking my granddaughter, but that's a big no for me. I want my money back from a waste of time and outfit. read more

We bought tickets for a 2:30 tour as part of a birthday celebration. Three hours before our scheduled time, we received a text saying our tour had been moved to 4:30. To accommodate the change, we had to cancel all of our other reservations. We arrived on time, but there was no bus in sight. At 4:30 p.m., the temperature was 34 degrees. With no shelter and no communication from the company, we stood outside waiting. We called multiple times--no answer. The bus finally arrived at 5:20 p.m., when the temperature had dropped to 32 degrees. The attendant got off and said, "You're all going to be mad, but we have to leave and reset the bus. We'll be back in 30 minutes." We explained that we had no car and had already been standing outside in freezing temperatures for over an hour. We asked if we could stay on the bus while it was being reset just to warm up. We were initially told yes--then left outside again. Moments later, the driver informed us it would actually be another hour and we were told to wait outside. At that point, we had no choice but to leave. We were dangerously cold and genuinely concerned about our safety. Standing in freezing temperatures for over an hour with no shelter, no communication, and no accountability is unacceptable. This business is unprofessional, disorganized, and shows a complete lack of care for customer safety. To make matters worse, the people getting off the bus before us shared that the tour itself was disappointing. What was meant to be a birthday celebration turned into a miserable and unsafe experience. read more

On Friday, November 28, 2025 myself and 8 other ladies scheduled a tea party tour ride. We were dressed up for the occasion, we had family members coming in from all parts of the town and states. We show up at the place where we are going to depart. We get there and there is a bus, but It's loading the 1:30 group at 3:00. My tour was at 3 o'clock so when we got there, someone came out of the bus and said, oh the 3:00 o'clock tour was canceled. 10 people standing there with their mouths opened. I received a text at 1:36 that the 3:00 o'clock tour was canceled. This was very very unprofessional. I will never ever waste my money on this tea party bus mess Again. No matter where they are......located. It was the worst experience I have encountered. we spent over $1000 plus to do this tour and they canceled it at 1:36. If anyone is reading this -Don't do it. You will be very, very disappointed. This company has poor reviews and they don't care it seems. I give this company a negative-0. The small sandwiches are good. However tea was only 4 shots (2 cold and 2 hot). The server said if we like she will serve us a full glass once everyone got their taste. No one one in the bus ever got a full glass. I think it is too much for just one server. It's also too expensive to not get the full promised experience. Nice idea but hard to execute successfully. From reading the other reviews, this could have gone much worse....We lucked out with the weather being cool. That said, the food had obviously sat there unchilled for quite a while. The CLOTTED CREAM WAS SO SPOILED it tasted like blue cheese. I should have smelled it before I tried it. It smelled awful. I am afraid now after eating a deviled egg and other "should be kept cold" food items. Will post again if I get sick. Also, the teas were great but THEY HARDLY SERVE ANY TEA...literally 2 swallows of each tea. I don't understand the drastic tea rationing....it's a TEA, which means you have TEA! Clearly a lot of corner cutting even though the prices are VERY HIGH. On the positive side, the staff was very accommodating and the singer was great! Would I do it again....NO. Would I recommend you do it....NO. The prices are too high for a low quality event....and definitely not worth the risk of getting sick due to poor food handling. Go to the Arboretum for tea instead. My daughter, granddaughter & I attended for my granddaughter's 8th birthday. First of all, I completely misread the tickets, which could have been a disaster, but Brianna came to our rescue and saved the day! I can't say enough about her professionalism & empathy for our situation. You have a customer service STAR in Brianna! Brittany, our tour guide, was a gem & made my grandaughter's birthday extra special with her attention, humor & beautiful singing voice! My granddaughter requested "This Girl is on Fire" and Brittany made her day by letting her sing along with it! I dare say, Britanny made the day of the other 4 birthday girls (women) very special as well. She belongs on stage with that personality & talent! Bravo! Also: Brian, our server, was just precious! We chuckled when my granddaughter found it HIGHLY interesting that A BOY was wearing makeup, lol! She loves makeup as well, so they had that in common. Anyway, a huge thank you to the DALLAS staff, for the fun & sweet memories made today! I am only removing a star because the reps at the customer service number (in NYC, naturally) were less than helpful when I explained my issue and said there was plenty of space on a later bus for a CHANGE FEE OF $200! ( I had already paid $394 for 3 tickets!) I mean WOW. I will NEVER forget the look on my granddaughter's face when we weren't allowed on the bus at first :( Also of note is the instructions to park & meet the bus were clear as mud, so we had some stress: WE drove from out of town. We are unfamiliar with downtown Dallas. It was RAINING. The parking lot at the address given was tiny & unmarked; were we even parking in the correct lot? (YES). We grabbed the last spot in this tiny, unmarked parking lot & it took MANY tries to squeeze in our big SUV, ugh. Oh, & it would've been nice to know that the parking COSTS $18! AND after all that: there was no bus in sight or even a spot for a bus could park! No sign, no person, just sketchy. Turns out, the meeting place was across the street & down half a block away, in front of the JFK Memorial. Thank goodness we were welcomed with a graciousness & reassurance from Brianna when we f figured it all out and FINALLY found the bus! Sigh. I should have been told that I could only tip in cash. Would give 0 stars if I could. We tried to do this for my mother in law's birthday in early December. The company had already texted us saying our 3:00 time changed to 4:00, which is totally fine. However, when we got to the meet up spot (15 minutes early like they asked), we ended up waiting almost 1 hour for the bus to arrive. We called the number listed and kept getting put on hold. We finally got through and they said the bus was delayed another 20 minutes. Well if you can text about a time change, you could also text about a delay. We ended up leaving because we didn't even trust that the delay would only be another 20 minutes. We drove an hour for this experience and it was a total bust. Now I'm happy that we didn't end up doing this since other reviews say the food was cold or had been sitting out and the customer service is subpar. After 12 more calls to try and get a refund and being put on hold, we finally got someone that said we would be refunded in 7-10 days. Ha! Still haven't been refunded and it's been 4 weeks. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! 1. I wanted to purchase a ticket for myself to join my family in celebration of my nieces birthday. The website only allows you to purchase tickets in pairs of two. (which I t didn't indicate that on the site). I called customer service thinking I did something on my end. I spoke with this rude ass nonchalant person on the phone that could care less about my situation. I explained to her my issue and she stated, 'Im sorry, but policy only allows you to buy two tickets at a time!' I explained again it's only me purchasing the ticket and I didn't need a second one because I'm joining another party. I asked were there any exceptions? She said no! I hung up furious. My party already purchased their tickets and I was the last one. Fast forward, Imy Sister e-mailed the company and was allowed to add an additional person to her party. BUT, that took a whole day to complete! 2. Day before tour, my Sister receives an email at 5:43 AM CST saying the tour is cancelled due to unforseen circumstances!! My entire family was in complete disarray! We took off work, were celebrating my nieces birthday! What the hell!!!! My Sister calls again!! The explanation was their wasn't enough people to fill up the tour. Then why in the hell you didn't say that in your email or on your website!! Finally they squeezed us in to the 3:00 PM CST tour.  3. We had my 76 year old mom with a cane with us as well! Why in the hell the website doesn't tell you you have to climb Mt. Everest to get to the top level! Their is NO accessibility for the elderly, handicap or people with special needs! It took THREE people to help my mother to climb up those winding steep ass stairs!!! I spoke with other elders and they had the same concerns! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! 4. This is Texas! It's hot as hell! It was hot on the bus. The only air we had was a window a/c unit on 65° that blew barley anything! We then received thin pink church paper fans to cool us off! REALLY?!? 5. The food was 2/10. It was too hot to drink tea. The water was hot. We asked for ice constantly throughout the tour because it was so hot. Last, getting my mom off that Damm bus!! I was afraid she was going to fall. It took THREE of us again to help her. She has bad knees and because of those steep steps she was sore for the rest of the day. I'm PISSED!! read more

We did the "petite" menu version of the trip today 12/27. Bus was an hour late, glad it wasn't raining. The tea sandwiches & sweets were good, but tasted like they had been sitting out for awhile. The tea selection was good. The tour guide was efficient. The music was good but sometimes overpowered the tour guide. The bus was nicely decorated. The problem I had and reason for the 1 star was our seat was #7, unfortunately #7 sits directly above the toilet on the bus which we could smell. A mixture of "poo" and air fresher unfortunately the "poo" smell was winning. The group next to us had the "deluxe" menu and didnt touch their food because they seemed grossed out by the smell also. The bus needs a little more time efficiency and a professional cleaning crew to deep clean the buses, especially the toilets. Cool concept though. read more

Cute idea and good tour of the downtown area. Now for the critique. 1st the restroom on the bus was broken and not usable. This information was given to us right before boarding. 2nd the bus was very loud inside making conversation difficult and then someone told the tour guide that she could sing. Not so. 3rd the tea on offer was mint, hibiscus, and chai spice. This is not tea that is traditionally served with finger sandwiches and mini desserts. I was hoping for English breakfast tea or at least Earl Grey. Some of the sandwiches were soggy, the ahi tuna hors d'oeuvres were awful and some of the desserts were hard and 4th the price was twice as high as it should have been. The Luxe package said that we would have priority seating but seating was assigned and the upgraded food offerings were not that good. I will not return and cannot recommend it to others. read more

Our Disappointing Experience with Tea Around Town - A Cautionary Note Six ladies from Texarkana, including myself, made the trip to Dallas specifically for the Tea Around Town tour. We had a confirmed reservation for 3:00 p.m., and after driving two and a half hours, we were contacted at 2:52 p.m.--just minutes before our scheduled tour--only to be told the bus would not be running and the tour had been canceled. We were assured we'd receive a refund, which we did. However, this didn't come close to making up for the lost time, effort, and expenses. We spent five hours on the road round-trip, paid over $100 in parking fees, and missed out on what was supposed to be a special experience. Attempts to book other activities in Dallas that day were unsuccessful due to late notice and fully booked schedules. I called the Tea Around Town office today to see if they would offer any additional accommodation or goodwill gesture for our trouble. Unfortunately, they said the refund was sufficient and were unwilling to provide any further consideration. If you're planning to visit Tea Around Town, especially if you're coming from out of town, I strongly recommend reconsidering.
