The first time was about 3yrs ago so I came here with no expectations other than maybe the drink being more up to my standards. The service of tea fusion is very good. As soon as we walked in there was someone ready to take our order. The decor around the place was cute too! I would say the only thing going on with the place was that the AC was not working and they had mini fans going off around the place. I ordered a strawberry milk tea with tapioca balls. The presentation of the drink was good. My first sips were also very good. But as i continued to drink I noticed that my milk tea was really sweet, a little more than what I would have liked. Then I noticed that the tapioca balls were also with a weird consistency which is what I didn't like about them last time as well. My husband and I tried a bánh mì sandwich in Atlanta and were excited to find a place that actually served it. We even made it a mini date since we recently became parents, which made the outing special for us. The order took a while to prepare, even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. When we received our food, the packaging seemed small, but I stayed optimistic. Unfortunately, once I opened my sandwich, I was disappointed. The portion of meat was very small, and the bread was quite thin. While the flavor was there, the portion size didn't meet our expectations. We also ordered a vanilla latte, which was very good and definitely a highlight. We checked this spot our via doordash and I was extremely impressed with the food and the customer service. I've never had a business call me directly to get more info on my order and Tea Fusion Cafe did that! I ordered their Taro Milk tea and they were out of it. So, someone from the store called me to get another option and I thought that was REALLY cool. Most spots would just not send it or do anything. Visted here for the first time today. The music was turned on very loud so not an ideal place to study unless you may have ear buds you can use. It was also difficult to have a conversation because the music was on so loud. I ordered a bulogi sandwich it was good but the presentation and service could have been better. Can I just say, I love restaurants with plenty of parking. This spot in the university area in a plaza at Tryon and Harris Blvd. definitely has plenty. There are 4 10 minute parking spots right in front and then plenty of shared parking with other stores. The vibe is nice with comfortable seating of couches, and chairs plus some tables. Came on a Thursday night, lots of folk just hangin out. I came for boba tea but there are a few hot foods on the menu as well. Boba tea runs about $6. My niece got strawberry coconut which she absolutely loved (I did not) and I got the mango with rainbow boba. It was ok. Boba tea is really my nieces jam and she really loved hers so there you go. I ordered a coffee tea with coffee jelly ($6.45) instead of boba pearls. It was absolutely delicious. I really liked the coffee flavor, and the coffee jelly was just a great combination with it. For food I ordered the beef bulgogi báhn mì (toasted - $8.99). It had some great flavor on the bulgogi, but I feel it was overpowered by the kimchi. I also thought that there wasn't enough meat on the sandwich (which might help the balance). And next time, I'd for sure get it not toasted. Been coming to Tea Fusion for a long time and their boba and food items (banh mi, appetizers) are pretty good. I was upset that they don't carry their butterfly pea tea anymore but it was fine since their menu is big. I got the Thai tea this time and the boba was fresh! It was warm, soft, and chewy. It wasn't as sweet which is odd and didn't give me as much boba, but it was still enjoyable to finish off. Be mindful when arriving here on weekends 'cause this place can get packed! Bubble tea, banh mi and small eats eatery off the high way that we stopped by on our drive. It is located in a shopping complex with other shops/eateries. Overall it was ok; I think their bubble tea flavor is typical, banh mi was ok, and squid rings was probably their strongest of the 3 things I ordered. Bubble tea we ordered taro/ube flavored and it was a little too sweet. I did ask for less sugar but even this was too sweet. A good taro should be on the less sweet side because the flavor of taro comes out better given that it is already a sweet/starchy flavor to begin with. The banh mi was ok; we ordered a chicken one (chicken was pretty dry) and a roasted pork one as well. The overall combo was dry and a slightly flavorless. I am not sure if adding a thing of mayo/butter would help put the whole thing together better; if it did have something to hold it together, it wasn't enough. Squid rings was probably the strongest thing they had here; adequately battered and fried. Best eaten when hot. Overall a good place to swing by but if we lived in this vicinity not sure if we would come back as everything was A ok. Ambiance was relaxing though- a lot of young folks doing work on computers here and families hanging out. Pet friendly and staff were friendly enough. Food comes out pretty fast as well. read more

We also got the fried potstickers, we tried to order the calamari, but they were out. We got char siu bao buns instead. We both went with the red bean milk tea and added boba, being red bean addicts. I typically go fruity with my boba, but I haven't seen many places offer red bean as a flavor and I couldn't pass up the opportunity. Absolutely everything we ordered was delicious! I cannot recommend the lemongrass chicken Banh Mi enough for a hot summer day when you want something warm for lunch, but still fresh and refreshing with crisp flavors. We came here to get boba today. This is a popular spot in university, surrounded by a lot of other restaurants and shops. It's Saturday around 1:30. There were about 8 plus people in line and another 10 waiting on their order. It was packed. I almost turned around to leave to find a less crowded place but decided to stay. They were very efficient, even with all of the people waiting, it did not take more than 10 mins or so to order and get our drinks. I sat my drink on the table, and as soon as I put my straw in the top, the cup split down the side, and a lot of my drink spilled all over the table and floor. I alerted the server, and she immediately put it in a new cup. I would have preferred they fix me a new drink or add what was lost. A good portion of the drink was lost because of the flimsy cup onto the floor without me ever having taken a sip. But, I chose my battles and decided this was not one. One of the great things about the University area is the dining diversity. Literally, just w/in the shopping/dining area where Tea Fusion is located there are 3 Vietnamese options. I've tried 2 of the 3 so far and Tea stacks up well, especially when it comes to Banh Mi quality. The meats are great, veggies fresh and the bread... Exactly the size, texture, taste that you want in a Banh Mi baguette. On my most recent visit I had the grilled pork Banh Mi and threw in an order of popcorn chicken. The sandwich was excellent and the chicken was a good sized portion of very crispy, very juicy bird. There was Sriracha to squirt on for heat and some squeeze bottles of Sweet Chili and Duck sauces along with one that wasn't labeled so I'll call it a mildly spicy version of Sweet Chili. All were good though and there are small cups with lids so you can load up on all three for dine-in or to-go. You order at the counter and based on my experience, the food is out in 5-8 minutes. You hear your number, walk up and grab it. Service is helpful and friendly as well. Never tried any of the Boba teas or other drinks but the selection seems very good and plenty of people were coming in and getting just drinks. read more

While the boba milk teas are delicious I must say the last time I was here it was not pleasant there is a not so pleasant smell when walking in as if the furniture has a stench or old mop water something I could not identify but it did not smell great, I took my drink and food to go. I really like the service in this place and I couldn't understand why - with the girls being so nice and so cute and so friendly - why it took me so long and was so hard to talk her into giving me a strawberry black tea instead of strawberry green tea. She really didn't want me to get what I wanted (some girls are like that), and I was really confused because I know what I like! For once I was wrong. What she had been trying to tell me (but communication issues abound) is that strawberry black tea can only be given as a milk tea because their only black tea is pre-mixed with milk which is an atrocious way to do things and is also the way that all of the bubble tea shops in the Charlotte area seem to do things. Sigh. Anyway I'm keeping them at their lofty five star rating for having some Innovative fruit drinks on the menu and also for being so damn friendly but it's unlikely that I will bring my sexy girl back here because the standards just aren't that high, and who pre-makes milk tea (um, most people, in NC, but still). I enjoyed my older review more though. I don't want to cause Con Fusion, but I have to say that despite all my semi positive Bubble Tea reviews in North Carolina, that NC doesn't really have good bubble tea. Not compared to what I am used to. What to get: The Pineapple Special Drink they recommend What else: If your Mac computer tells you it's 3.14, that's Pi on Apple. I love banh mi and bubble tea, so Tea Fusion was an obvious stop. We tried three banh mi sandwiches: the fusion special, the Korean, and the grilled pork. I think the grilled pork was my favorite followed closely by the Korean. While I really enjoyed them, I think they needed more jalepeño and crispier bread for my taste. On the bubble tea side we got the Thai tea milk tea with boba and the lychee bubble tea over ice. You can get the bubble tea over ice or blended. Blended looked more like a smoothie and I prefer the milk teas. I loved the lychee bubble tea--it was my favorite between the two. We obviously had to try the shaved ice cream. We got the taro with passion fruit popping pearls and mochi and the strawberry with mango popping pearls and passion fruit jelly. I loved the taro! I was not a fan of the strawberry. It tasted like artificial strawberry. The portion size was huge. One would definitely be enough to split with two people. We came in a little after 2 on a Sunday and the place was packed. We were able to get a table, but by the time we left, I think all tables were full. It's fast casual style and even though it's busy, you get your food pretty fast. I've been here a couple times but with the influx of Tea Cafes in Charlotte I just don't make my way up here often. On this last visit I wasn't impressed with my Butterfly Tea. It didn't have great flavor at all. We were in a rush and I wasn't able to go back and have them fix the tea. My mother has also become a tea snob and she didn't really care for hers mason jar tea either. I have been in the past and really enjoyed the items I ordered but I don't know what could have caused them to have dropped the ball on this night. After this experience not really sure if I will be back. There are so many options in Charlotte now and this particular restaurant is so out of my normal path. My faves are the Mason Jar refreshers without Chia (they have bits of real fruit chunks and jellies), the Thai milk tea (I do light on the milk) with boba, and the Strawberry Lemon tea (its a flavored green tea, no milk in it) with Rainbow Jelly. You can mix flavors, you can add more than one type of jelly. The large size is worth it...they are 24 oz with crushed ice. Everyone is super friendly and the wait is usually quick. It is a little disconcerting hearing your voice on the loudspeaker when you order...but that's the only semi-negative I have to say about this place. read more
