Banh Mi Dac Biet Baguette (Special Combination Sandwich)--super tasty
    Eric D.

May be a hot take, but this is easily one of the best banh mi spots I've tried on the East Coast. Le's is family-run, and when I stopped in I had the chance to chat with the owner's father who was there helping out--such a nice guy. You can tell they really care about what they're serving. They've been in business for over 20 years, and it shows. The baguettes are baked fresh in-house (crispy outside, fluffy inside), the proteins are loaded into each sandwich, and the pickled veggies were absolutely on point. Everything came together perfectly. Plenty of parking, easy to get in and out. Overall, a fantastic spot if you're looking for a legit banh mi in Charlotte. Cheers

Love this place. The owners son is always there super nice and helpful. Plenty of options. They usually do special meals or variations of the bhan mi on different days. Everything is fresh. Bread is soft and crispy. Sucks that there isn't a sign due to the construction. Authentic flavors. A good family owned spot! They do have little seating there. Mainly a grab and go kind of thing.

Special... no headcheese. Banh Mi Dac Biet Baguette (Special Combination Sandwich)

Perfection!! I probably eat Banh mi a few times a week for lunch at various places depending on my location but HERE... they're fresh and filling/satisfying and Le's is a GEM!! Always has been. Been coming here since their old location over a decade ago. The freshness of the pickled and non-pickled veggies is top notch. The pate is perfect. And they top it off with great customer service within their new location. The vibe is modern and cute sandwich shop. Add it all together and I promise you it's all the makings of a great Banh Mi!

Stopped here on the way to the airport and it was so delicious! It was the right amount of food, it was very flavorful, and the interior/exterior had nice art and decor. I honestly did not except this gem to be located here. Everything we tried was yummy and the avocado smoothie was the perfect sweet treat.

High quality Banh Mi sandwiches, fresh ingredients and super tasty. My biggest suggestion is to expand the menu with some additional items, especially sides. I would have loved to get some fries with my sandwich or something else besides a bag of chips. But 5 stars none the less for how good the banh mi was.

If you're passing through Charlotte and hankering for some good banh mi and Vietnamese coffee, then you MUST go here! My banh mi dac biet or combo special banh mi was excellent. Abundant meat fillings, including nem nuong (a type of sausage that I haven't seen in combo specials before) and luscious homemade butter squeezed between crispy and airy French bread, topped with the quintessential pickles. If you're from the DC area, then you'll know of Banh Mi DC, and Le's sandwich fillings reminded me of Banh Mi DC's, but their bread was superior. This is high praise. I also am so glad I tried their iced black Vietnamese coffee. I almost stopped at another spot for coffee beforehand, and I am beyond happy that I didn't because Le's black coffee with sugar was amazing! I was so impressed with the coffee they used that I bought a bag of ground beans to take home with us. Besides their specialty, we also sampled juicy pork buns and roast pork. My husband said the pork bun was super juicy and flavorful--so juicy, in fact, that it reminded him a little of the brothy soup dumplings. Le's is a counter service spot with some seating: low tables with stools, reminding you of street alley dining in Vietnam. The whole place is decorated so charmingly and gives a nice homey vibe. Service was helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Love this place! I may be late, but they moved from their old location in the mall to a new building in the parking lot and it's so nice and clean! They have a market with coffee, meats, drinks, sweets, and other items. They also serve boba tea and beer on tap! Their banh mi's are the best of the best and their employees are friendly. Quick service and turnaround times on to-go orders, too. They don't take Amex so make sure to have other payment options available and on hand.

I have been going to Le's Sandwiches & Cafe ever since I was a child (and when they were still located in the Asian Corner Mall) and this place ALWAYS hits. Their new location is still in the same sketchy plaza with the bad potholes in the parking lot, but this place is a must try if you are looking for exceptional bánh mì. I always order their Bánh Mì Thịt Nguội and it is perfect. The house mayo and pâte are so good--I could literally just eat the baguette with both those condiments. I also like their pickled carrots/daikons a lot as they help add to the flavor in the sandwich. The service is pretty quick and the interior gives a little homage to Vietnam. There is very little seating inside so I would say this is more of a grab and go type of place. I have not found a bánh mì shop that I like as much as this place just because I am so used to eating from here. I highly recommend coming here!

100% best sandwiches, service, vibes, I had been on a QUEST to find the best sandwich and honestly, I should have started here. The vegetarian is perfect: amazing ratio of protein to bread to veg, excellent flavor. Brilliant spice. The bread is the perfect example of what it should be: crispy, chewy, fantastic. Even with a line you'll be taken care of quickly- and- there isn't a lot of seating. If you do score a little table, enjoy the vibes with your sandwich, they are WONDERFUL.

Wow Le's has a new location!! Guess I haven't been here in a while? Le's is still the best Bahn-Mi around!! So glad we decided to come by again. And yes they take cards now. Le said his son has taken over the business now and done all the updates. The building is brand new, the dining room is relaxing and so cool, staff are super welcoming and friendly. This place was perfect before but now it's even better. Thanks for continuing the legacy.

We had the Chicken Bah Mi it was Delicious! Chicken was well cooked with great seasoning and sliced thin. Veggies SUPER fresh! Bread crunchy on outside soft on inside. Wish they had more non-pork options like fish or beef. They do not have tea which I was kinda shocked about (iced or hot). Quick Short Service(you will definitely be in and out pretty quickly) I'm glad we were driving past and I just wanted to drive thru the parking lot as I use to go in the Asian corner mall many many years ago. And I came across this gem which I had saved on my Yelp must try list!

Heard about this spot for years and finally visited the CLT legend. Food was awesome, staff was super friendly and made us smile multiple times, and the ambiance was a tribute to Vietnam with elements of their cultural. Good spot with a solid menu.

The BEST Banh mi in NC, hands down. This sandwich shop is a staple and has been around for as long as I can remember. Always wanting to stop for a sandwich if I'm ever traveling to Charlotte (located right outside of NoDa). The best and most authentic ingredients. But as any Southeast Asian knows, it's the bread that makes it....and they hit the mark. Semi hard outside but nice and chewy inside, doesn't brittle like most other bread. They have more Viet dishes and snacks but my go to is the Banh mi sandwich. (Don't get put off that it's within the old, run down Asian corner, well worth it).

The restaurant is quite small and it gets crowded so prepare to wait. There were maybe about 10 people in front of us and I don't think we waited for more than 15 minutes. We got there around 8:00 p.m. on a Sunday night. It's very cute inside and feels authentic. So I really had no idea what I was ordering except for the quail because I read that in a review. It was awesome! The marinade was delicious. I got the 95 which was rice and pork and a beef skewer with baked egg. It was really good! I can't wait to come back next time I visit.

WARNING for potential customers:…read more So, me and my aunt came across this restaurant online seeing that they accommodate for gluten allergy with rice noodles in their pho. We drove to the restaurant and they were closed from 4pm-5pm (we arrived right at 5pm) I'm assuming this was a break for employees seeing as their hours are 10am-9pm. We we parked directly in front of the door watching employees come in for work. One of them had taken the "closed" sign off the door showing that they were now opening. This man in the photo proceeded to light a cigarette inside the restaurant closing and opening the front door to blow the smoke outside. We immediately left, because why would we want to eat or even walk into this place while this man was smoking inside the restaurant. Who would want to step inside this restaurant knowing that someone is smoking a cigarette inside this restaurant. The other employees in the dining room were watching this man smoke without a care. Imagine walking inside and immediately smelling cigarettes. If this man is allowed to smoke a cigarette inside their establishment, what else could they be doing inside that is not within restaurant cleanliness. Do what you'd like with this information but I thought it would be important to share this with others who are wanting to try this place.

The staff here is also genuinely helpful. They made recommendations for our table, checked in often, and kept everything moving smoothly even with a larger group. Another underrated bonus is the parking. They have their own lot, which in Charlotte honestly deserves appreciation all by itself.
