One hour's Time goes fast when you're relaxing and taking it all in and enjoying! Service was kind and cordial. Sweet garden oasis is a wonderful view while you're sitting in the hot tub. Sauna fits two people it is small and just enough space, or one person if lying down. Book weeks in advance online. I used to keep checking this place and wondered why it was never available. You just have to plan ahead Left feeling calm with a soothing feeling

The environment is relaxing as soon as you enter the main entrance. With all the jungle style decor, it feels like stepping into the Amazon. The atmosphere immediately sets the tone for a calming experience. I went with the hot tub and sauna package for 1 hour and 30 minutes. It was more than enough time to fully enjoy the amenities. The experience was quiet and peaceful, and I did not hear the other guests. Plenty of paid street parking available nearby. Customer service was great, the person at the front desk was welcoming, and made the check-in process easy. It was overall a well-curated experience and I definitely recommend it for those who would like to try something different!

Amazing relaxation spa and the private hire tub and sauna is a nice touch to keep things intimate and personal. I would recommend this place for sure. The tea options were nice. I wish they offered a cold drink as a refresher as teas. Sweating and drinking hot tea was a hot mess. lol.

Came here with my mom and it was a pleasant time! Good: - Booking was super easy on the website - It's super pretty on the inside and the vibes are great - They give you a choice of tea and I liked the tea that we got since it also came with a honey stick - The sauna and cold shower and hot tub combo was great for doing some contrast therapy - Beautiful view of the gardens, that itself is worth it in some ways Bad: - You can't really talk inside, you have to be quiet so it's hard to enjoy fully with a friend or family member - Sauna was hard to understand, we sat in it cold until we finally realized we had to turn it back on since it was auto off - Really expensive for what is just a self service room Overall pleasant experience and I'd give it another try with my boyfriend maybe if the price was lower

If you need a break from the noise & just want to completely decompress, Tea House Spa is the spot. I've been to a few spas, but the vibe here is on a whole different level. It feels like a hidden sanctuary right in the middle of downtown. We booked one of the private cedar hot tub rooms. There's something about the open-air setup (you can see the bamboo and the sky) that makes it feel incredibly Zen. The water temperature was perfect, and the whole area was spotless and well maintained. It's the kind of place where you can actually hear yourself think. You can't visit a place called "Tea House" without getting the tea! We had a pot of their specialty tea after the soak, and it was the perfect way to transition back to reality. It's served in a traditional style that really adds to the overall experience. I wish I could remember which tea they served us because they give you 2-3 options. The staff was very professional and soft-spoken, which kept the quiet atmosphere intact. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and relaxed. Whether you're coming here for a solo "reset" or a quiet date, it's worth every penny.

Very quaint spa! Did the Gemini package. 50 minutes of hot tub & sauna time and 50 minute couples massage (done in separate rooms). Tea selection was great, staff was friendly. An overall nice experience I would do again.

Came here on my birthday weekend to celebrate and it made the weekend special. I had to book it a few weeks in advance because it sells out fast. I booked room 3 because I don't need a massage. 1.5 hours was a good amount of time to spend in the private hot tub room. There was also a shower and sauna in the private room. The window is open to nature so you get some fresh air. We came in the winter so it was very nice to be in the hot tub with the cold air. It doesn't actually get too cold in Jan in Santa Cruz so it was the perfect temperature. They let me and my husband each pick a different tea. I'm not a huge fan of tea but it was nice that it was included for free. There were options for non-caffeinated tea as well. I had a lovely time and would come back again.

I've been meaning to try this place out for years on end, and finally was able to catch a reservation. Put myself on the notification list for the Gemini Package and sure enough 2 days before the day I wanted a spot opened up! I almost went to something similar in Palo Alto, but it was double the price. Came here to celebrate my boyfriend and I's 6 year anniversary with a little R & R. I loved it. It's very much like having a private onsen in Japan! The package was $295 for 2 people & came with the hot tub in the "Air" room & sauna for an hour, followed by a 50 minute massage. I do gotta say, if you want to do this, I think it's best to do it during the winter time so that you can cool off more when you get out. The day we went was a perfect beach weather day about 75° and I love me a hot bath, but this was a bit too warm for me to sit in for that full hour. Before going in you can choose one tea each for you to sip on while you're relaxing in the room. There were baskets in the sauna with towels, slippers, & a robe. Since it is completely private, swimwear is optional. You must rinse & wash at the in-room shower before going into the tub. They have lavender scented shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The hot tub felt clean, jets can be controlled by a dial in the tub. The jet pressure was pretty strong. Tbh, we barely used the sauna, mainly used to dry off at the end. Just being in the hot tub itself on a warm day was hot enough. The sauna is lined with cedar wood so no water was needed to make it more steamy or hot, you can control the temperature right outside of the door. It was nice just looking out with a view of their bamboo garden and it makes for taking nice pictures! The couples massage was in separate rooms, which we didn't care too much for. They had me go with the girl and my bf with the guy. I described I like hard pressure and I thought I was just gonna get a rub down but she went medium hard and it was perfect. Probably one of the better massages I've had in all the massages I've been to, my bf can say the same. We were lucky to find parking right in front, but plenty of metered places on the street to park. Overall, I think Tea House Spa is a perfect place for people to come relax, retreat for a little, and if coming with friends or a partner - a great place to bond and spend quality time.

We had an amazing experience at this spa. We booked the 1.5 hrs for the private tub and sauna. The booking came with two complimentary teas, which are all so good. Our visit was back in July, and although it was very relaxing, it might've been better suited for colder months. It didn't seem like we could adjust the temperature. The attendants were very nice and social. My only tip would be to make sure you keep track of your time! The spa attendants will notify you when you have 10 minutes left, but it doesn't hurt to track the time yourself.

The Tea House Spa is a cozy, tranquil spot near Downtown Santa Cruz. It is right across from Streetlight Records and there is plenty of paid parking surrounding the building. Upon entering, you'll be checked in by the front desk. We came in about 15 minutes before our appointment and sat on the benches outside while we waited. The woman at the front desk was very pleasant. We booked room 1, which includes a 70 minute massage and 70 minutes enjoying the sauna-shower, bath, and two teas. Our massage therapists came out, greeted us, and led us to our room. They asked us about any problem areas and preferences. My massage therapist was named Beverly and my fiancé's massage therapist was named Patricia (I think). Both of the massage therapists were friendly and gave amazing massages! Beverly went above and beyond my expectations and incorporated some stretches that helped relieve my lower back pain. She also gave me some advice to fix my weak ankles. After the massage, my fiance and I sat in the sauna and showered before sitting in the tub. I enjoyed looking at the garden while my fiance liked spraying his face with the shower nozzle in the tub. We also enjoyed the teas we chose. Towards the end, we sat in the sauna one last time, and showered. Overall, I find this place very relaxing and enjoyable! I didn't take pictures this time around, but I have pictures from the last time I visited. Everything looks the same.

This is the kind of place I come to once or twice a year when I really need a break. Soaking in the warm water while taking in the outdoor view melts all the stress away. The hinoki-scented sauna, the calm Japanese-inspired atmosphere, and a refreshing cup of tea all come together to create such a peaceful experience. What I love most is getting a massage after my body's fully relaxed. It feels so much more effective, and the tension just melts away. After a few visits, one thing I did notice is that the windows outside the baths could use a little more attention when it comes to cleaning. And while the older facilities add a certain charm, they can sometimes feel a bit worn. Still, places like this are rare to find, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a quiet, restorative escape.

Tea House Spa has been on my Yelp bookmarks for YEARS-- finally had a chance to try during our weekend trip ^_^ Somehow got lucky and found parking right in front of the entrance (metered). We checked in early and were given the tea menu. After our selection of two teas, staff walked us to our room and explained the bell system, tub controls, and room features. We had the hour for the room followed by a 50-minute massage. GEMINI PACKAGE: - Shower was stocked with fragrance-free toiletries! - Cute, thoughtful note acknowledging our anniversary celebration :) - Love the garden view... What a difference fresh greenery makes. - Towels and robes were light but soft - Clean facilities, from foyer to bathroom to tub rooms - Teas can be refilled as much as you'd like-- for us, we barely got through 1 pot! - Sauna is small but cozy-- we alternated laying down on the bench with the door closed. So soothing - Hot tub was perfect temp. Felt amazing on tense muscles. Jets can be adjusted, though we liked the default setting - Fantastic massage. My massage therapist, Renee, was so receptive to my preferences. I literally fell asleep by the end I was that relaxed lol NOTES - Wore my shoes to the bathroom to avoid using the slippers in the bathroom floor, then stepping all over the tub room with bathroom germs lol - Some spiderwebs in the corner and outside... Very sizable spiders just a bit further beyond reach (!). Normal with nature obviously, but just a note on the inside webs - Facility is definitely well-loved and a bit worn in some parts (chipping, water stains, etc.), could use a refresh - Slippers are randomly sized I think. My size 8.5 feet were hanging over my pair, while my partner's fit him totally fine - Massage room is simple and no frills, which is fine, though I think could be dressed up a little - I was covered in oil during my massage and most of it wasn't wiped off, like most places do ^^; My bf said the same. Maybe their process here is different Overall, for $295 (before tip), this is a steal. I wish they were closer to the bay! NOTE: For our October trip, I booked far in advance-- literally in mid-July, there were plenty of slots. Prob safest to book as far out as possible since they seem to fill up quickly.

If you're looking for a place to relax and reset your mind then this is the place! There are three rooms to choose from and you can choose any tea flavor you want from their menu. The vibe and atmosphere makes you forget that you're in Santa Cruz. There is street meter parking and a parking lot behind the building (pay by using app or using zone code).

Ask the Community - Tea House Spa

Difference between room 2 and 3 with sauna and tub?

Is there an option to do the massage first, then the hot tub for the Gemini package?

Hello, unfortunately we cannot guarantee to order of operations for the Gemini package but at this time typically it is Hot tub first. We cannot take appointment change requests at this time.

If I want to book the gemini package, could a preference change be made to have a message in the same room & not different rooms? Cause I love everything about the Room 1 experience except I would love to be in a jacuzzi rather than the tub.

Hello Valeria, we understand that you would like to request the massage to be in the same room for the Gemini package. Unfortunately we are a very small facility with only one room that accommodates two massage tables. We do however, have the option…

Is smoking allowed in the hot tub room?

Hello, smoking is strictly not allowed at our facility and will result in a minimum of $100 fine.

Do the spa accept HSA payment?

We accept FSA payment and HSA payment at this time.

Hello, do you have a massage available if 7 months pregnant?

Hello, we do offer Certified Prenatal massages by Beverly on Monday, Friday and Sunday mornings only. We require our guests requiring prenatal massages to be past their first trimester and we ask that you please speak to your primary care provider…

    Is this place dog friendly??

I don't believe so. It's an indoor spa, so would probably not be sanitary to bring pets.

Do you pre pay for your spa service or is the payment due at the time of your service?

Hello, yes payment is required upon booking in order to hold your reservation. We require 24 hour notice for cancelling/ or rescheduling in order to receive a refund

What are the prices for the different packages? I tried to look online but it wouldn't show

Our private hot tub and sauna rooms are currently priced at $85 per person for 100 minutes. Our massage packages range from $295 to $495 which include soaking as well.

Hi how do I schedule an appointment? I tried to schedule on your website, but there's no openings for any dates and I tried to call twice and no one picked up. I also left a voicemail and no one called me back. Please let me know thank you

Hello! Currently , our schedule online has our live availability. If you do not see any times popping up after selecting a date - this does mean we are Fully booked up.…

You guy will open on Christmas day Dec 25?

Thank you for your question! We will be open December 24th until 4pm, and Christmas Day we will be closed.

    What's the difference between tub & sauna room 2 & room 3?

Hello, our Hot tub / Sauna rooms are the exact same layout, located directly in the middle of our garden. Both of these rooms feature a private Dry Sauna w Sauna Misters, a Jacuzzi for 2+ (Limit of 2 per room at the moment), and a shower. We include…

I booked my appointment on 6/5 on your website, just wanted to make sure it will be opened right?

Hi Monica, Thank you so much for making a reservation! We had to push out our opening date due to County Regulations regarding Covid. We are planning to open on May 21, so we…

I cant make an appt and the phone vm is full, had anyone gone recently?

Hello Ann, Thank you for your question. The reason you are not seeing a way to book an appointment…

Does anyone know if the price for the Gemini package is per person or for both?

    $295 for both!

What should we wear if we're doing a massage and spa?

For the massage I didn't wear anything. They give you time to undress and get under the sheets before entering and beginning your massage. As for the spa, my bf and I wore our bathing suits. There is a shower in the same spa room so that you can…

Do they have lockers for our stuff?

They don't. But they provide a basket so you can carry your clothes and belongings fr massage room to sauna room.

Do we have to book a spa room before we come? And what is in the Gemini package have?

    Yes

How's the parking in the area?

It's mostly street parking. However there is parking spaces a few streets over if your willing to pay per hour.

    Any cold plunge tubs?

No, but we weren’t able to get the shower warm, so we had a icey shower after lol

I tipped 20% and they demanded i tip more, it was very awkward and uncomfortable and i felt pressured to tip more even though we hated our massage.
