Probably the cutest, coolest most interesting tea/coffee shop I've been to. The restored space and interesting tables with a great selection of teas and stuff to snack on - both savory and sweet, makes this a great stop. Next time DJ and I go here we're gonna get that traditional tea time thing ( I don't know what it's called...) where you get the three tiered cage they put together with all kinds of snacks on it . My Daughter and I have been to this tea house many times. Whenever she is home from Florida it's always been a place we go to. That changed a couple of weeks ago. The tea sandwiches that were made with Brie were so tiny, and no filling hardly! The scones were so dry it was pathetic, you could use them as hockey pucks. Even the tea was horrible. I asked the waitress if I could try another flavor as the tea had no flavor after steeping for a long time. She told me she would have to charge me for a different kind!!!! What??? The carrot cake was not fresh either. I agree with a lot of the reviews about this place. It has gone downhill and fast!! We will no longer waste our money going there. I really wanted to love this tea house! When we walked in the atmosphere was cute, cozy, and clean. At 10:15 am on a Saturday, my mom and I were the first and only guests there and yet it took a few minutes for us to be seated, not the biggest deal since it seemed like the staff were still getting ready for the day but it felt like we were left waiting around a few times throughout our tea time. We ordered the Italian wedding soup, the chicken salad sandwich, the baked brie and ham sandwich, and a lemon and blueberry scone for dessert. For tea, we had the Purple Jasmine and the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie black tea. The tea selection was great but it arrived not fully steeped and very weak and the teabag was left in the pot so by the second cup it was over-steeped and very strong. The soup seemed like it was out of a can and so did the chicken salad. As a few of the commenters have mentioned the scone was very dense and seemed made with wheat or bread flour instead of white flour. This is a very quaint location for a cup of tea and snack. I have gone here multiple times with a handful of girl friends, date with my boyfriend, and the 5 generations of females in my family. You will not be disappointed by the selection of tea - there are hundreds! Lots of variety from black, white, oolong, and lots of herbal infusions as well. For teas the lavender earl grey and vanilla chai are lovey black teas and the passion fruit green tea is a favorite of mine. The food menu is also quite long for a tea shop. I've tried the majority of the tea sandwiches which have all been delicious and paired well with tea. The fresh herb chicken tea sandwich was my favorite. The Devonshire cream for the scones is spot on - just like ones I've had in London! Our scones also came with lemon curd which I thought was unique and a sweet touch for the cranberry orange scones we got. Another time we got eggnog scones (wouldn't recommend these) and did not get the cream or lemon curd with them - not sure if this was a mistake or not. The ambiance is eclectic yet calming. The tea settings are a variety of china sets that are all different. Service has varied with each visit from quiet/stand-off to very friendly. I'm not sold on this place. My daughter wanted to go because she likes tea. I am a coffee person, but I was willing to indulge her. Happily, I saw that they had cappuccinos and lattes on the menu, so I ordered a latte. I heard the staff in the back arguing about the difference between a latte and a cappuccino! I ordered the avocado toast with home fries for my meal. The avocado was hard (not ripe) and the home fries were not cooked. On a positive note my daughters pancakes were light and fluffy. We drove over 2 hours on a beautiful sunny day to get there and it was worth the trip. The Tea Room is cozy, and very nicely decorated. It is all very dainty. Staff were all pleasant and welcoming, and the service and food were excellent. There is a very large list of teas to choose from, but black tea is my favorite. We enjoyed scones, and two kinds of chicken salad sandwiches. My friend had a chocolate cupcake and I had pecan pie. They were both larger than served in other restaurants.This meal was served on a pretty, 3 tiered server. It really was a treat. The only negative is that my teacup had 3 stained cracks in it. Very few truly deserve five stars and this place earns it every day by exceeding expectations to the point where minor infractions are completely forgiven because the totality of the experience is so magically well executed. The food is delicious and perfectly presented and the service and ambiance is memorable and leaves you wanting to return again soon. Came here for dinner on a weekend. Can't recommend this place for dinner. The tea was good, but my entrée, the chicken amore, was bland. The chicken was boiled and had no crust or seasoning. The beans were also boiled and bland. The potatoes were good. For 18 dollars, this entrée was not at all worth it. The service was quite poor. It was nice that the owner Tracy came around to check on things, but in a large group nobody wants to start a problem by calling stuff out, so everyone just told her it was okay so we could get back to our meal. Our waitress forgot the tea menus at the start, only refilled water when asked, and took a very long time to check on us. My fiancee said she overheard the wait staff gossiping when she went to the bathroom, which leaves a bad impression of the service. Would not recommend! read more

I had originally rated Tea with Tracy with 4 stars, but after recently visiting, I needed to update to 3 stars. I always bring out of town visitors to the tea shoppe because I think it's a fun, unique place. After bragging about it to my friend about how cute it is and the vast tea options- we arrived and were asked to wait a few minutes...which felt awkward as we were in the small entry area and people were coming & going. The waitress cleared a table & proceeded to clean off crumbs...with used cloth napkins. Then once we were seated, there was mustard smeared on the table cloth. My friend found a tea that she was super excited to try, she ordered, and then a few minutes later the waitress came back because they were out of it. I ordered banana bread and found it to be pretty tough- for the second time. * as a side note, several groups of women came in and were seated towards the kitchen- each group asked if they could instead sit by the windows and were told "Oh, I think those tables are reserved"-- wouldn't it make more sense to leave a little "Reserved" card or sign on the tables? Guests would feel less jipped & it could save some awkwardness. read more

What a cute little place! I had purchased a groupon for the place and took my mom here on a Saturday afternoon for tea. Upon walking in we were asked if we had reservations, which we didn't. Though there were plenty of empty tables and we were seated right away. We order the tea for two, which came with our choice of two scones, two sandwiches and two desserts. Plus two pots of tea. I don't recall what kind of scones we order but do remember both were delicious! They were served with butter and fresh made jam. We decided to pay a little extra and get the clotted cream, which was totally worth it. For the sandwiches we had the curry chicken and the brie with cranberry jam. Next time I would get the curry chicken again but try something else with it. And for dessert we had pecan pie and a huge chocolate cupcakes. Both we very tasty. The tea menu was very extensive. The first tea I got wasn't really my cup of tea and the waiter let me pick a different one instead. I really enjoyed the second one I ordered. I visited Tea with Tracy while attending a baby shower. It was cute, and overall a fun enough experience. They had reserved a spacious table for our group of 8, and it was not too busy (although I have heard that when they put out their Groupons, the place books up for weeks at a time). You can order from a huge variety of teas, and they bring you a personal pot of whatever you choose. You can also order tea sandwiches, desserts, and scones. We did the "Afternoon Tea", which was a set price and came with a pot of tea, a scone, a tea sandwich, and a dessert for each person. Holy carbs! The tea was served in dainty china teacups with saucers, and all of the teapots were different pastel colors. There were doilies and lace and pretty things all about- very girly. I kept feeling like I needed to sit up extra straight and stick out my pinky while sipping my tea like a lady. I ordered a Ginger and coconut tea, which was OK but definitely not as flavorful as I'd hoped. Everyone else seemed to love their teas, so I may have just chosen poorly. I also don't like my tea very sweet, so perhaps the lack of sugar was to blame for the passive flavor. For my sandwich, I had the chicken curry tea sandwich, which was very good. I would have liked a choice of bread type (it seemed white bread was the standard), but it was soft and fresh, and definitely my favorite part of the meal. Everyone else enjoyed their sandwiches as well, and there were some interesting flavors, including cranberry and brie. I also had a lemon and blueberry scone. It sounded amazing, and I assumed this would be the best part of the meal. However, it was good, but not great, which left me a little disappointed, since it was what I had been most looking forward to about this experience. I was told that their scone flavors rotate, and perhaps this was just not one of their best. Finally, I had the banana bread as my dessert. Although the vanilla cupcake and the carrot cake looked really, really good, I didn't think I could handle icing by the I got to my third food item. The banana bread was thick, moist, and fresh- definitely a good pick. There was also loose-leaf tea for sale by the register. It smelled really fresh, and was priced far better than the tea shops I'm used to visiting in west Hartford, so I bought two types of Green tea (large canisters for $12 each). They came with airtight containers in which to store the tea, which was great (I dislike that you have to buy the containers separately at Teavana in Westfarms). This was definitely not my scene, and I probably won't end up back here unless another friend chooses it as a location for a baby shower or bridal shower or something of the sort.. but that doesn't mean I don't think it's a cool place. Despite not being a huge fan of girly tea parties, I gave this place 4 stars. I can see why Tea with Tracy has regulars- the food is good, the prices are great, the service is friendly, and it's a unique experience- the only place I know of in CT where you had have a full-fledged grown-up tea party. read more

Ok so I have to be honest since I have been to this place several times over the past few years. I have to say the ambience has always been beautiful but the food has always been inconsistent especially like my last few visits. Today was the one that took the tea cake and not in a good way. I wanted to meet up with a friend for holiday lunch and had said that this is a nice spot since she lived close by. So I did the usual Tea tower which runs about $18 where you get one sandwich, one scone, a pot of tea and one dessert. During my visit today my tea sandwich which had the cucumber mint tasted like there was some kind of chemical in the cucumber almost like a cleaning product. Then I tried my cranberry scone which was dried out stale and tasted like someone had made it after they played with their dog and didn't wash their hands. I couldn't tell if it was the scone dough or if it was the lemon curd that went with it but it was so bad that I almost wanted to throw up. Lastly I went to take a bite of the eggnog cupcake which was their specialty for the day and it was as hard as a rock as if it was sitting in the refrigerator for too many days and should not have been consumed. In short nothing tasted fresh or clean in this dainty little place which I don't think I will go to any more going forward after today's horrible experience. I didn't have the heart to tell my friend that I took there how embarrassed I was after I had bragged about the food being decent and the ambience being beautiful. If you are seeking a good teahouse with good food and good atmosphere equally ...I highly recommend Florie Kayes located in New York in the Brewster area. I really hope Tea with Tracy improves on their food freshness and overall quality because it is so important to have good quality tea pair nicely with good quality food in order to appreciate the entire experience of teatime. read more

They were booked the entie day! What? Who knew? So we made a reservation of an upcoming Sunday. Sunday we arrived and we were so excited TODAY was our day for our tea party!! Woot! The place is super cute, very girly. Perfect for a bridal shower, wedding shower, littel girl's birthday Tea party or a Kentucky Derby party, etc.. and they have a private room for such the occasions. This place was very relaxing, not pretentious or snooty and the staff was attentive and friendly. Over 100 teas to choose from.. say what? I started with the very first one.. It's been a number of years since I left my review for this place and frankly, there was simply no reason for me to return for another potentially poor meal when there's plenty of legit good places to eat. That didn't stop my wife from continuing to go there for tea but I think her experience today will put an end to that. I get it, it was busy, and you have to pack the day with reservations, particularly when your dinner service sucks and tea and sandwiches is all you have. But honestly, no one likes to be rushed through a meal with friends, especially when that means being hounded by the waitress 3 times while you're still eating. You might think 2 hours is a long enough time, but I bet many of your customers think it isn't. My guess is you've just lost 4 customers today. And, I can almost guarantee they're not the only ones to have been rudely asked to leave during their lunch. So maybe we'll all leave 1 star ratings and you won't have to worry about hustling people out of your crummy tea room because you won't have any more customers. read more

Went for tea for two ($30) on Saturday afternoon. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time or you'll be waiting a couple hours for a table (at least on the weekend). But that was fine for us as there are MANY nearby boutique and antique shops with beautifully curated and trendy items! Back to the tea...you get to pick every part of the meal (each person can pick their own set of items from the following list): 100 of teas to choose from (pick 1 and it pours a couple cup-fuls), sweet and savory scones (pick 1, comes with jam and butter), tea sandwiches (pick 1, curry chicken and brie cranberry were delicious), and desserts (pick 1, carrot cake was delicious). How did everything taste? Unfortunately scones were dry and not the best, but sandwiches were yummy and so were the desserts. Would definitely return and maybe try different flavors of scone. You can also buy bags of their loose leaf tea for $9-$12 each. Good price for such unique flavors and variety. You can "sniff" what each tea smells like: on their shelf beside each bag of tea there is a small tin with a bit of the tea inside. Very handy! Check it out for a nice weekend activity and don't forget to visit the surrounding shops in Seymour (all within a couple minute walk to this tea shop). read more

We had a groupon voucher this visit and the staff couldnt be more gracious...from making the reservation to greeting us when we walked in and being attentive throughout our visit! After several years since opening I finally decided to treat myself and my daughter to Mother's Day here. The place was jam packed, we were seated immediately, placed our orders for simple breakfasts and waited an hour! My over easy eggs were over well done. During the waiting time the waiter kept apologizing for the and then ultimately disappeared, I wasn't even able to get a top off of my coffee during that time. I think he just got sick of apologizing? I tipped him well knowing the delay was not his fault although the coffee being topped off would have helped. After all the wait the food was okay. I'm sure its better when its less busy but I don't believe it was okay to be dispaoointed even so, extra accommodations obviously need to be made for these busy occassions. May try again. I was very excited to try a new tea room while I was on vacation, but this was definitely a disappointment. I made reservations 5 days in advance and we were stuck at a table against the kitchen wall. It was very loud & not at all relaxing. The taste of the food was good, but the tea sandwiches were the smallest I've ever had, not to mention the filling was very minimal. We were not even finished with our tea and the bill was brought. We had thought we would have a relaxing experience like in other tea rooms, but everything was very rushed. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.
