New owners, open again! They also own a Tea2go elsewhere and were asked to take over this store. Best tea in town!

A pleasant foodie surprise in San Angelo!…read more I had to come into San Angelo for work and going into the trip, I was not too excited about my food options available to me as a vegetarian...but I did find Buttercup online and it seemed close enough to those "hip, city coffee shops", meaning I should be able to get some decent food! Unfortunately, a lot of their hot sandwich options were off the table since they seemed to have a broken toaster, but I was able to order a hummus veggie sandwich that came with seasoned potato chips, a side salad, and a stick of chocolate. I also got a vanilla cake bite (pop without the stick) and everything was about $18 with tip. I didn't feel like trying any of the drinks, but some of the coffee flavors sounded interesting and they have seasonal flavors too. The ambiance is inviting, and definitely feels like a cozy place for the community to come hang. If you ever find yourself in this part of west Texas, definitely keep this spot in your back pocket for close to healthy eats!

Love visiting Buttercup. The vibe in the shop is welcoming and calming. Like any good coffee shop,…read moreit makes you want to stay. The coffee options are plentiful and they do their own take on both custom and traditional coffee drinks. You will find all your caffeine needs here. They also have a good menu. It ranges from custom toasts to toasted bagels and even extensively crafted charcuterie boards. Service is friendly and knowledgeable and they have a drive thru if you are in a hurry. There are a few good coffee options in San Angelo and if you are in Buttercup's part of town, this is your stop.

My wife animated just looking for a nice, non-pretentious coffee shop and we stumbled upon this…read moreplace. I loved the look from the outside as it appeared as an old gas station. Inside was spotless and had several different coffee flavor options and a few muffin/bagel options along with Kolaches. My wife and I had never had one so I ordered one. When we received it we sat out out in the back courtyard and ate it along with blue berry muffins and drank our coffee. The courtyard was clean, comfortable and shady. What made this place special was the employees. All very kind with one woman, maybe the owner, taking a lot of time to explain what a Kolache was and the difference between a European kolache vs a Texas. So nice and kind. It was a litttl oasis with delicious coffee and great employees.

My friend was really disappointed in the flavor of his dark chocolate mocha. He threw it away without drinking more than a few sips. I appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, as well as proximity to the river walk. Service was fine - the coffee was started promptly, the coffee matched what we ordered, and the servers were distant but respectful. There were no food options here. While this location looks nice, I don't plan on coming back here for my coffee/breakfast.
