Cute coffee shop with a lot of seating inside. They have couches and tables where you can just chill with your friends and study if that's your cup of tea. I tried the Iced Matcha with oat milk as well as the Iced Mocha latte, both were good, but I would say the matcha is more on the sweeter side. I'm not quite sure if they use ceremonial matcha here. The turkey sandwich I got was delicious. It would make for a great snack or even something light for breakfast. The service was good! I should've known I was in trouble the moment they asked what size cappuccino I wanted. That's usually the first red flag when you're trying to get an actual, decent cappuccino -- it's not supposed to come in Tall, Grande, or Bucket. But I went against my instincts. Big mistake. The shot was burnt to a crisp, the milk was steamed to the temperature of molten lava, and they filled it right to the brim with that hot, flavorless mess. It wasn't so much a cappuccino as it was a dairy disaster. Good thing they had a trash can conveniently located outside -- made it easy to dispose of. I went out of my way to try this place. This is a really neat place to come alone and get a little work done like I did or to come hang out with friends. There are many tables and groups of couches to choose from. My chai latte was great but my bagel, that was a home run! I am headed back to my hometown next week and have been looking forward to real NY bagels but now after eating this bagel with all this goodness on it ("The Greek") I'm no longer craving NY bagels so much (that's a huge thing for someone raised on NY bagels that's been gone for decades!!) I hesitated ordering it but I am so glad I decided to be adventurous because it tasted amazing! I actually finished the whole thing which for me is a huge deal. The staff here are wonderful, helpful without being "in the way". You go and order and they bring your food to you. Then they leave you be but they are around if you need anything. First time here... I had heard soldiers talking about this place so I decided to try it. Frankly I was disappointed on the flavor of the coffee. I am a coffee lover. I am gone to many different coffee shops that brew Peruvian, Guatemalan and Turkish coffee. I don't ordered a Latte with Lavender. Mind you I have had Lavender coffee before from other places. I was disappointed with the flavor of the coffe and the lavender. I was unable to even taste lavender in the latte. Plus the coffee had a strong flavor of burnt coffee. It was overpowering. Could be the reason I couldn't taste the Lavender. I did advised the employee and they were willing to make fresh coffee. I was thankful for that. Just thought they would be more aware of the coffee they are selling. I kept my coffee and just had him add more lavender and still was unable to taste it. Oh well. It is what it is. Not sure if I will ever try this place again. I was interested in trying a bagel. But not sure how much pride they take in their efforts on making it. I like the fact that the employees bring you your drink and food out to your seating area. Ambience is nice and has a relaxing feel. They have tables and couches. This place is a diamond! You know you've found a gem of a coffee shop.... When you come across a coffee shop on social media and you read the story and check out the businesses motto and style, so you make it a point your first chance to go to check it completely out. And it blows you away! Customer service was great, the selection of product was awesome, the experience and setting here is phenomenal. I've never walked into a coffee shop and legitimately said, I found my new office! This is a great social coffee establishment! I've come here 3 times now in the last 9 months and each time has been a positive experience. Workers are friendly and efficient, and their menu has coffee, sandwiches and desserts. In particular, I asked for fresh roasted espresso beans and they special-roasted it for me! TBB is amazing and provides excellent customer service! The only criticism I have is the ringer that goes off when customers enter/exit the place -- it is LOUD AS HELL. If it wasn't for the entry bell, I'd give this place 5 stars! Other than that, I highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for a pleasant social establishment. They lost me at "we charge 50 cents to have LESS ice in your drink". I'm sorry, what?? She said "it results in more product"...... but ICED is the same price as HOT and hot has zero ice in it so full amount of product. Make it make sense. Say what you will about Starbucks being expensive, they've never charged someone for less ice in an iced beverage. This is just embarrassing to nickel and dime customers in this way. Especially for a subpar matcha. Steer clear of their matcha and don't think about having a non-watered down beverage, and you'll be golden! read more

I love the ambiance of this place. It looks small from the outside but when you go in, the shop is actually quite large. Lots of seating, which is good because it's frequently crowded. It's popular with college students and I've seen people there doing group meetings. There's even a room you can rent out in the back for special events. Bathrooms look clean and we'll maintained. There are a few books and games. There is a fairly good selection of drinks. Along with your common ones like Cafe au lait and Lattes, there are also the highly caffeinated like the Defribrillator with six shots and the Drunken Irishman with their whisky espresso and irish cream. There are also options for non-coffer drinkers and bagels/sandwiches for purchase. My mom doesnt like coffee so she got the London Fog. She was super impressed with the atmosphere of the place and wants to come back for lunch. There is a stage, indicating there are sometimes live events. Can I leave a bonus star or 4 for this spot?! I travel for work and often love to try the local coffee spots and I tell ya, this one is next level amazing. The unassuming strip mall entrance hides a massive space that is so cozy, comfortable and just downright adorable. Someone took both time and some money to set this up perfectly. The menu is massive and has a great variety of both the usual but also house made syrups, build your own breakfast and gluten free bread, bagels and muffins. Our coffee was spot on and the staff were friendly and fast. If you're local, there is also online ordering. The most recent new local spot I found and made a debut visit to with my GF was The Bearded Barista. Open for just over 2 weeks they are getting their name and products known fast! I see why that is now! It's really darn good all round from coffee to smoothies to sandwiches and bagels. Nothing here is just typical either. Owners Nat and Kim are doing things a little differently here and boy it works. They have so many local collaboration plans it's crazy! I can't wait to see what amazing out of the box creations form from this place in the coming months. The space is huge, WiFi is fast, the staff rock and the friendship they display is top notch. Not only was the seasonal latte I had exceptionally flavorful and not too sweet, the bagel, the Humboldt, was one of the best bagels and lox I've ever had! No skimping on the cream cheese and capers, and the mustard was just the right amount of zing and blending nicely with the sweet aspects. But wait, there's more! The ambience was exactly how I envision a community coffee to be; welcoming and comfortable, open and free, with people able to hang with each other or cozy up alone, with low music in the background and all sorts of home decor, it was perfect. While I ate I noticed those around me, a kiddo learning chess from the local chess guy, a couple enjoying a morning together, and the owners and crew talking about the community and ways to get involved. THAT is what a truly local coffee shop can do; not just pump out over the top drinks or move the line along, or showcase gorgeous pastries that look too good to eat; this coffee shop has amazing flavors but is about the people who live here and to me, that's where this spot straight up wins. read more

Started coming here because I was locked out of my house one day. I liked the ambience of the place and the proximity to where I live. I then started going more regularly to work and study. The service was, and is always great. Everyone is very friendly and attentive. I've tried nearly every food item from their menu and it's all good. Each bagel item on the menu is unique and well crafted. The paninis are satisfying as well. I'm not a big coffee drinker in the summertime but I did order something called the Defibrillator, per the suggestion of one of the employees. It did not disappoint. At first, I was hesitant to try TBB because San Angelo has had a number of coffee joints pop up in the last year or so. However, I personally think this one outranks the rest, and is exactly what SA needed. I've been a couple of times, and my order was delicious each time. I've tried the cold brew, the mixed berry smoothie, the iced chai, and a mocha drink that my friend got, lol. All so yummy. The house made syrups are flavorful without being overpowering. The menu is large, without being overwhelming. They support another local business in order to provide pastries and sweet goodies, which are delicious as well. Each employee I've encountered has been kind and genuine, and each time the owner, his wife or daughter has made it a point to walk around and greet/converse with the customers. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, but very large with multiple seating areas. Kid friendly. Clean kitchen area, seating area, and bathrooms. Over all, whether you're looking for a quick pick me up, a place to study, or a meal and some good conversation, I'd recommend The Bearded Barista. read more
