A hidden gem. The warmth and care the teachers bring to learning is what sets them apart. We love coming here!

He brings amazing energy to every class and clearly puts a lot of effort into making the sessions fun and engaging. I especially love how he mixes music, including Korean songs, which makes the class feel more inclusive and enjoyable for many of us. While he may be different from previous instructors, it's clear that he is working very hard in his own way, and many of us truly enjoy his classes. His positive attitude and dedication really stand out. Thank you to the YMCA for supporting such passionate instructors!

I signed up Thursday night online, received confirmation online and 7:45am time slot to arrive. I phoned and spoke to informative and friendly Christian 8pm Thursday night. He said come on through tomorrow morning just bring valid ID. Stacey said: Can't enter with 3 day pass and Christian doesn't know what he's talking about and YMCA website is incorrect??? She said " look at this one day pass that she pulled from her desk it says expires 06/01/2026. ". I replied " I didn't bring you a coupon one day pass..I signed up online and received confirmation etc etc... She held me up for close to half hour. Her coworker assisted her very quietly & after debating with her about 3 day pass validity I asked well can I use one day pass? She stalled and pretended it was Staceymca... Not cool.. I kept my cool as I really needed to use gym and report to work within 1 hr. I barely made it on time due to this person personal judgement on me. Sure she has turned down many.. All along she's faking her commitment to YMCA by saying hi to all members. Again why did you discriminate against me. Would you turn down your aunt, mom, cousin etc. She should be demoted to sanding rusty pissed lockers. Or clean toilets at night. Doesn't belong up front dissing the needy. Reflects bad on Manager Cyndi Oliva... Need more training...the right hand should talk to left hand. You can't greet Mrs.Kim like you need a free fortune cookie or free pedicure and say F Mr. Garcia or Mr Gomez etc.. This is LOS ANGELES .... Not staceyville..or lamenessville or braincrampville or brainfartville.... It is L O S Angeles ... Also looks bad on Rae Jin director who brags in her Linked in about her Customer Service Training and her vast abilities... Why are lockers rusty Pissy Pissy attitude at front desk Would HIGHLY Recommend EOS for a lot less monies YMCAKoreatown sucksneed better employees and managers..

I continue coming only because it has the basic equipment and amenities I need. The building is large, has three floors and a pool, and should be an excellent facility. Instead, it is held back by aging equipment, poor gym etiquette, inconsistent staff conduct, maintenance issues, and an evening environment that often feels more like an unsupervised social club than a fitness center. The weight rooms are routinely messy. Weights are left scattered, members do not rerack equipment, and I often have to clean up just to train safely. Many people sit on machines for long periods while using their phones or socializing. Asking someone respectfully to share equipment can lead to hostility. That should not be normal in a gym. The men's locker room has some respectful members, and I have not had issues with theft. However, I have personally had my belongings removed from a locker and left on the floor so someone else could use it. The steam room often smells bad, has repeatedly been out of service, and looks visibly dirty when dry. It appears overdue for deep cleaning, repairs, and modernization. The sauna is usually better, but it can also smell unpleasant. The morning and afternoon staff are generally welcoming, respectful, and professional. If you want the best experience, come between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The evening shift is where the problems become much more noticeable. I am not saying every employee is unprofessional, but I have personally observed front-desk interactions where incoming members did not appear to receive the same attention or respect as others. I had a negative interaction with an employee named Jennifer. She entered a conversation that did not involve her and, in my view, made the situation worse instead of resolving it professionally. There is also another petite female employee who wears glasses whose name I do not know. I would like management to make staff identification clearer because I intend to submit a formal report about my experience. I have also become aware of negative comments being made about me because I am social and speak with many people at the gym. Staff, trainers, lifeguards, and employees should maintain professional boundaries instead of contributing to gossip. To be fair, Ruben, who works the evening front desk and is also a personal trainer, has been respectful, approachable, and professional in my experience. He deserves recognition because he represents the standard this location needs more of. I have attended this YMCA since around 2018 or 2019. The equipment has largely remained the same, machines break down repeatedly, and misuse of equipment, ego lifting, and machine hogging make the experience worse. It can work for a casual workout, but serious members who need consistent access to equipment and a professional environment will be frustrated. My advice is simple: go in the morning or early afternoon. Avoid the evening if you want a focused workout, better equipment access, and a more respectful atmosphere. I am giving this YMCA one star because it has the potential to be excellent, but management has allowed maintenance, gym etiquette, staff professionalism, and evening operations to deteriorate. The community deserves better than broken machines, poorly maintained wellness areas, inconsistent treatment, and an environment that discourages members from simply trying to work out. Until management takes these concerns seriously, I cannot recommend this location.
