However my mom wanted me to work with her friend at Wells Fargo. 1 week before closing, Wells Fargo said they could not close on time and may even be delayed for another 3-4 weeks! My wife and I recently purchased a home in the Seattle area. As you may already know, the area is so competitive with offers that it is sometimes necessary to waive certain items in your offer in order to be chosen by the seller. In our case we waived our financing contingency. This ended up being the thing that had our offer chosen, so we were ecstatic. However, it also meant there had to be no delay in our financing. In our case, we were approaching the winter holidays so we even had more of a time crunch. To say I was stressed is a major understatement. Well Jay and his team came through for us. This is the second loan I've worked with Jacob and the team on, over the past years. The first was a purchase, the second a refinance. To say I'm a difficult client is an understatement. During the first purchase I had a 5 page document justifying major changes of money in accounts, changed jobs, and all on a short sale... They walked me through each step giving me the instructions needed to make the bank understand what was happening. During the refi, I was a regular customer and it went so smooth I got mostly completed while on vacation. I was present when needed for signing and had electronic access while on vacation. I should also admit I'm a cheapskate or more elegantly said a super shopper. I did try a refi, with a bank that I had two loans with, and the new systems that are in place for mortgages coupled with a "big" bank mentality caused my refi to fail. I was literally 4 months into the process when I just gave up. I wasted 4 months, had a large loan origination fee all trying something that appeared to be easier. It isn't. All I got was the same documentation requests with no help on what to do when I didn't "fit" the normal applicant. read more
