Ironically, at checkout, Annie suggested I book the 45-minute tween session next time because my daughter "has a lot of hair" - yet she only used 20 minutes of our 30-minute appointment. This logic doesn't make sense. The result is a chunky, straight-across cut that I could have done at home. I've already had to book an appointment at another salon to fix the uneven, unfinished look. If you're looking for a thorough, detailed cut with proper layering and finishing, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. We won't be returning.

I came in with a clear inspiration photo of a rich brunette with soft, blended caramel highlights…read more Before we even started, I explained that I understood my hair would not turn out exactly like the inspiration photo because my hair is not virgin hair. I've previously colored it with Redken Shades EQ and Cover Fusion on my roots, so I knew my results would vary. I was never expecting an exact replica. I also understand that the inspiration photo was taken in completely different lighting than the photos of my result, and I know lighting can dramatically change how hair color appears. I took all of that into consideration. Even with those differences, I still feel that what I received wasn't simply a variation of the inspiration--it was a completely different color direction. I wasn't expecting perfection, but I did expect my hair to be moving toward the look I had requested. Instead, the final result was much lighter, warmer, and more orange than the rich brunette with soft, neutral caramel dimension I had asked for. The inspiration photo and my final result weren't just slightly different--they looked like two entirely different color goals. My hair also felt noticeably drier afterward, to the point that I ended up cutting about four inches off the ends. I called the salon and scheduled a correction because I genuinely wanted to work together to get closer to the look I originally requested. Unfortunately, the correction appointment was even more disappointing than the original service. Instead of listening to my concerns, the stylist immediately argued with me and insisted that this was exactly what I had asked for. He told me my hair was already "caramel enough" and refused to do lowlights because he felt my hair looked fine the way it was. He then tossed several color swatches onto my lap and told me to pick a color. When I asked if they were semi-permanent, he told me the salon didn't carry semi-permanent color, only a gloss and permanent color. The swatches he gave me were all dark browns, which wasn't what I was asking for, and when I questioned them, he responded that I knew color theory well enough to know what my hair would turn out like. He also told me my ends were compromised and that there wasn't much he could do for me. Before this service, my hair was healthy enough that I wasn't concerned about the ends. Leaving that appointment feeling like I was being blamed for the condition of my hair after a highlighting service was incredibly upsetting. The most disappointing part wasn't just the color--it was the way I was treated. I expected a professional conversation and a collaborative effort to find a solution. Instead, I felt dismissed, argued with, and made to feel like my concerns weren't valid. By that point, I no longer trusted him to work on my hair, so I left without any correction. I paid $350 for this service and walked away with hair I'm unhappy with, hair that feels significantly drier than before, and no resolution

Fantastic!!!!!! It was love at first sight when i met Nicole and Daniel from Team Nicole! I had a trial run for my engagement pictures and I was so pleased with the service they provided, I decided to book them immediately for my wedding date! September in San Diego is a really beautiful and busy time to be getting married so I knew i had to have the best! Not only were they fantastic to work with but I enjoyed their company - having someone you can trust with your hair and your makeup on the biggest day of your life is so important! The day of the wedding I was compcletely at ease - they came to the suite and did the makeup and hair for us right there while we sipped mimosas - the perfect way to relax! Nicole is just as beautiful inside as she is outside and you can tell she knows what she is doing! The product she uses are all brand name and I never felt "made up" or over the top - she is very talented and every girl felt beautful that had her services ! Daniel... words cannot describe this little gem...he is so talented! I felt like we were friends separated years ago, he is so easy to talk with and helped with the engagement session, a trial for the wedding, my Rehersal Dinner, and the day of the wedding! He stayed the day of the wedding until about the time i went down the aisle and just gave the best service ever! He did all 7 of the bridesmaids hair, me the bride, and my mothers! I feel so lucky to have found Team Nicole! Judy did our makeup , and Daniel did our hair for my wedding in August 2013. Nicole (who handles the logistics) is organized, quick to respond, and it was a pleasure dealing with someone so competent! We had to make all the arrangements via text and phone calls as I live in Seattle, and she made it stress-free. She sent me a detailed schedule for the wedding day hair and makeup, and everything worked out perfectly. I was looking to do airbrush makeup, and Judy is an absolutely wonderful for this. We did a trial make-up session with Judy, and she understood what look I was going for. She also listens to your requests and will adjust to accommodate your preferences. My sister and I had airbrush makeup, and my mom had regular makeup. My mom looked 15 years younger with Judy's expertise; we all LOVED our makeup. Daniel is also a rare find - in fact I go see him now for my hair even though my wedding is long since passed and I live in Seattle! He is really an expert - definitely ask him for his opinions and let him work his magic, and he will make sure you look great! Judy and Daniel are the best. Well...let me tell you.. I basically hit the jack pot when my wedding coordinator Suzanne Duffy recommended Nicole and her team! I came to San Diego to have my wedding and fell in love with Nicole & Daniel at my trial right on spot. Aside from the connection.. (let's be honest, we definitely want to feel the trust with anyone we work with) Their work is outstanding. I honestly never felt more beautiful in my entire life than on my wedding day and I have Team Nicole to thank for it. Nicole & Daniel worked on my hair and makeup for my wedding at L'Auberge Del Mar in October, as well as my mom, sister & bridesmaids. They were fantastic!! I was so worried I would cry off all my makeup, but Nicole assured me she would use only waterproof products, and thank goodness they worked! Airbrush is the way to go! It lasted allll day. My complimentary fake lashes were so secure, yet did not hurt when they needed to be removed. I told the lady at the tanning place that I just needed a light tan just to get rid of the tan lines. I didn't want to be too dark. Of course, I come out looking orange. Kirsten was so amazing with my makeup. She took out most of the orange and I looked great for my photos. My photographer asked me if I had done my makeup and I told her that I had a makeup artist do my makeup. She told me that I better book my makeup artist for my wedding because she said my makeup was fantastic, especially in the photos. I am so happy to have her doing my makeup on my wedding day. She also gave me a small kit so I could retouch my lips throughout the evening. Another thing is that she was very professional and the craziness of our hotel suite didn't interrupt her focus. She kept a friendly chatter with everyone throughout. My husband, friends, family, and my dog were all in and out of the hotel suite throughout the process. I'm glad Nicole allowed me to add her new location to Yelp as she added more blonde to my hair. I came to Nicole when I first got to SD in December 2012 on a recommendation. On my first visit she gave me a Chi Enviro smoothing treatment which is an AMAZING alternative to chemical relaxers for my natural hair. It makes it amazing when straight and soft and manageable when curly, I got the treatment done again (6 months after the first) on my most recent visit. I got the treatment done after she added blonde highlights to my whole head, no worries. In between the two Enviro treatments Nicole gave me a fun blonde piece in the front as per my request in February and it came out great. she does my hair in curls when i want to go out and i cannot believe how long the curls last, even when they begin to fall they give my hair beautiful body/ shape. she gives a mean hair cut and she has great products. We did a trial a few weeks ago, which was very helpful in preventing stress the day of the wedding. We picked the hairstyle and the makeup.
