I had reach out to Alessandro after another salon had cancelled an appointment I had made (2) months prior - I was grateful for the opening availability that day. They were quick over the phone, able to get me in same day. He did a same day services /consultation, I asked for a keratin treatment, which I normal get every 6-9 months. This was by far the BEST KERATIN TREATMENT, and I've had over 10+ My stylest knew it's a long process and patiencly took his time to do the entire process correctly and efficiently. Each strand of hair was cleaned and treated. I was impressed with his dedication and thoroughness throughout the process. The treatment usually takes around 3-5 hrs, it took 4 hrs including a trimming hair cut. The staff was accommodating, frequently replenishing my drink and snacks. I got a balayage and it was very nice although it took quite long and we did color correction. I also got a little haircut. It was very nice but it was very pricy. Found this salon through an online search after my long-term stylist retired. I decided to give it a try since there are so many great reviews on Google and I needed to get a haircut before a trip. Alessandro (Alex) was the one who cut my hair (after giving me a wash, deep conditioning hair mask and head massage). He listened to my preferences and went to work, giving me a great cut that frames my face perfectly and falls in flattering waves. It will be easy to maintain without requiring a lot of daily effort (also exactly what I asked for). I was impressed with his professionalism. Things that stood out: --He is skilled and clearly knows hair. --High level of personal service. He spent a great deal of time attending to my wash, conditioning and cut. He didn't rush or divide his time between different clients. --He is passionate about his field. Also is warm, friendly and loves what he does (which made the experience more enjoyable). He spontaneously gave me a hug at the end when I was complimenting his cut. Very sweet. He's a nice person and an Italian gentleman too. --His prices are: $225 cut for long hair. $200 for medium length. $180 for short hair. Simply, the best in San Diego. My story: I was at the end of my rope hair-wise. My ( originally) wavy brown hair was lifeless, brassy and completely ruined by years of too much bleaching and highlighting, and in an awkward stage as I was trying to grow my natural hair out after trying the keratin treatment twice last year. I had a halo of split hair from my crown down, hair that couldn't grow as it was so brittle. My hair was thinning too..this was so shocking as I always had lots of hair, and strong. I wasn't straightening it ( already had keratin treatment) or curling it too much either ( only maybe 3 times a month).. and never used hairspray/chemicals either. Still ,nothing I tried would work: expensive Kerastase masks, Moroccan oil (marginally helped), thermal protection or Olaplex ( which actually made my hair fall out). My hair was awful. I am 44 and was seriously thinking of extensions to get back my fullness. In all the years I have been in San Diego ( 17) I also could *never* find a hairdresser that understood brunette hair, without trying to turn me into a blonde via progressive highlights.. which always turned orange, straw-like, full of split ends and would wash my olive skin out. Alex gave me a trés chic cut that made me feel like I was just coming off a runway, he emphasized natural techniques for care of my hair and used superior hair color, products and mask which are made in Italy and contain way less chemicals than what I previously used. He recommended natural products I could use at home and my hair has never been softer. The products he uses made ALL the difference, as I realize my past hairdressers were using cheaper-quality ones that would continuously damage and weaken my hair, no matter what I did at home. I went in going for curly perm as the picture shows below on the left and on the right is what I ended up getting :(. He cut way more hair then asked as well as he said service would of been 400$ and mind you I wouldn't of cared if it was the product I asked for but it was nothing close . He ruined my hair. To fix it he tried putting in so much products like hair spray and moose to make it curly . I explained to him what I asked for and what I got is upsetting because it nothing near what I asked. Thank gosh he didn't charge me but I left with damaged hair. My thing is if you know you can not do something then please do not try and let your customers know.
