But, it didn't stop there, I have also received 3 calls from nearby branches of Randstad asking if I was interested in other job opportunities closer to home. I could tell by the clients that they've mentioned to me that they didn't get here by luck. I am very familiar with the recruiting process and the sense of urgency to fill vacant positions. This company is on top of their game. They made me feel like I was not just another unemployed nobody looking for a job. Their network of candidates is not just a pool of individuals, it is a pool of potential candidates that can fill vacancies. The last time, which was last year, I was told by her that she had SOOO MANY bilingual positions. Obviously lies because she didn't deliver not one. I have the administrative skills, plus being bilingual, I should have gotten at least one opportunity. But no, of course, they want to meet their quota of how many people they get in, to fill out their pointless applications and take their useless tests, that nine times out of ten, don't have a damn thing to do with the position. Like in most temp agencies, when you call, the receptionist will highly screen the call to make sure that you are either someone who is already employed through them or someone new...if they haven't bothered to find anything for you, they wont tell you, they just say that the recruiter is "not in" at the moment. Well this is most temp agencies for you to say the least. I think it's best to opt for your own job hunting if you don't want to waste your time.

Seems this agency is only interested in hiring young kids since they can get away with paying them next to nothing and jerking them around with the promise of a job. I broke both my elbows and was unable to do the most basic of needs, and when I called the city for help, I was told the waitlist was over a year long. They suggested I call Senior Services.... but they were unable to help, especially when I needed someone to pick me up after surgery. As a result, my surgery was postponed for a month until I could locate someone to help. Dealing with the DOT and Senior Taxi programs is exhausting and only exacerbates pre-existing conditions. I scheduled a ride with the DOT this week for my foot pre-op appointment. I allowed myself an extra 40 minutes to get to the hospital. I got my 15-minute advance call that my ride was on the way. 40 minutes later, I'm still standing (painfully) outside in the heat, waiting for my ride. I then learned I was not the only passenger to be picked up, but it was just minutes (30) away. I arrived 30 minutes late to my appointment and had to wait to work into my doctor's schedule, which meant I had to cancel my DOT ride home. I contacted the Senior Taxi program for my ride home. I waited for over 20 minutes outside, trying not to stand on my left foot and out of the heat. I kept getting messages that my ride was only a minute away ... he was .... in the next parking lot in of VHC, eating his lunch. I couldn't wait any longer. I called Lyft. When I got home, my blood pressure was 174/81. This is not uncommon; it's the norm. For me, it's dangerous. Had I known I would be seriously late for my doctor's appointment, I would never have gotten on the bus.

Lying or making up fake excuses just to not even let a young grad follow up is very unprofessional, in my opinion. And I'm sure if the staff responds to this, their rebuttal would be "schedules can change, or unexpected events can occur, etc." but that, of course, is an easy and generic answer to respond with. I decided that after ignoring me for 2 weeks with me attempting to reach out that they had completely written me off. Which is actually fine, because I found a wonderful job by myself and without their help soon after. :) But honestly, I don't appreciate the two-faced attitudes of the reps there. I understand that clients are important, yes, but don't purposely ignore someone who is trying to reach out to you.
