We had a professional shoot scheduled at 8 AM on a Saturday, and Noah arrived on time and ready to go on the dot. Originally, the professional photoshoot was only going to be scheduled for 3 hours, but Noah is a perfectionist. He actually worked with me over 6 hours till 1-2 PM in the afternoon before he is satisfied with the shoots that he made. Our league is rather small and informal, and our team would be the only ones with proper bowling shirts. Even still I wanted ours to be awesome. Michael is a 1st class professional. He always promptly returned my calls. Even though I'm sure this job was just a side project for him, he made me feel like I was his number 1 priority. He designed a few different graphics, and listened to my input. Then came up with a final image that I loved. When I submitted the graphic to the shirt company, they told me it was one of the best they had ever seen. Only about half of our team ordered shirts, but when the finished product arrived people were so impressed that we placed 2 more orders. The entire league was wishing they had shirts as cool as ours. There is a lot that goes into graphic design, more than just artistic talent and an ability to draw. Michael is a virtuoso in every aspect. Were I a muscian there is no one else I would want in my corner. This man can create on another level. Audio, visual, you name it. But he is grounded in reality, no big egos to get past. I needed something a bit more powerful and professional to use at work, on LinkedIn, and for speaking at conferences...oh, and I still wanted it all to feel like "me." Part of my leadership philosophy is being a human first, and having that come through, along with the corporate need, felt like a tall ask. Enter Flashpoint Collective. From the moment Dan and I started talking about this work, I knew I was in the right space. Dan was collaborative over text and email and a quick call, and when I arrived day of, he'd even hand-picked a couple background colors specifically for me based on our conversations. The day went by quickly, but I never once felt rushed. The space was homey, which I loved -- it made me feel more like I was collaborating with a friend on a project, which soothed my nerves a bit. Dan was an excellent director, offering suggestions for posing when I felt out of my element, and kept me plenty caffeinated too. After each set of photos (with specific backgrounds and outfits), Dan gave me a chance to look at the raw images to talk about what was working and what was not. I left feeling extremely confident there was at least one photo that would feel just right. The final images were delivered a few days (maybe a week?) later, and Dan kept me up to date on when they'd arrive. And OH MYLANTA THERE WERE SO MANY GOOD ONES.
