Kamilah of Teas with Meaning is extremely knowledgeable and personable. I enjoyed the blended tea workshop and my tea was delicious.

They have an extensive menu of tea, I decided to get the black mango tea, which is indicated as high caffeine. They told me to keep it to less than 1 min steeping or else it gets oversteeped. They were prompt with coming out with my tea leaves and teapot, and gave me a towel to put your teapot on in case of spills It was bitter, but definitely has the fruity notes I was seeking. I was able to make several potfuls of tea which still had some flavor in them, so the leaves seemed to do well with re-steeping. They provided me with a kettle so I could continually reboil the water, so I felt it was decent value (since total it cost only slightly more than the average boba costs nowadays). I'm thinking I'd like to get the lychee or hojicha next time. The worker didn't mention to me if they offer milk, which I wish they did. But they do sell snacks. The bathroom is clean. They have free wifi but the day I was there, unfortunately they were having issues with the wifi. They have a 2 hour time limit on weekends, but no limit on weekdays. I appreciate that they have outdoor seating, for those who are airborne illness conscious, and also so you can enjoy nature and sunshine while having your tea. A lovely spot overall, right on San Pablo Ave so you can take the 72 bus lines to reach it.

It is such a vibe. There's street parking (limited) we ended up parking 10 mins away from a public parking spot. We got the four seasons tea (they charge $3 per extra person for a cup) so for us two, it was only $3 extra on top of cost of the tea. We ended up spending $20 for tea for us both and the little snacks (pineapple bites and mochi). For the experience I'd say the pricing was worth it and especially if you are a tea connoisseur. Keep in mind, if you do go, you have to talk quietly since it's a quiet ambient atmosphere

Golden Tea Shop - 04/04/2020: Drinks weren't that good :(

This small shop is not hyped up, they don't have long lines, there's no influx of influencers trying to take advantage of getting free drinks in exchange for advertisement. Just pure locals, IYKYK. See I'm not big on overly sweet milk tea that gets washed out from the milk and has minimal tea. I love the strong tea flavors with the hint of milk just to complement the tea. I love ordering their Tieguanyin Milk Tea. It's probably one of my favorites because of the floral hints. Even as a milk tea, you can still taste the tea itself while adding a hint of sweetness. As a hole in the wall in Chinatown, this is literally one of the good ones.

I saw a long wait out the door so I thought this place must have been a good place to try. I was going to a concert so I was on a time crunch but I should have realize why there were so many people is because everyone was waiting for their drink to be made. I ended up having to wait 45 minutes and really only got my drink because I had to ask them what was taking so long (I was ready to just leave without it). There was only 1 person making drinks and drinks were basically leaving the kitchen every ten minutes or so. Whats worse is that I saw two women go into the back and I can see one of them talking with the other woman as she makes 5 drinks for the first one to just walk out with them. I know it's just a small shop but it's kinda ridiculous to see a line as a worker but then prioritize making drinks for a friend or the owner of the shop. Once I did get my drink though, I gotta say, it was pretty good. I got the barely milk tea and you can definitely taste the barely tea with the milk giving it some depth/body. If only I didn't have to wait with 20 other people for my drink.
