Cute little spot on Piedmont! Love that it opens early and has a lot of seating plus WiFi!! It wasn't too busy when I got there so I didn't have to wait long at all! I decided to give the matcha a try and it's just okay. I wish it was a little more matcha forward.

Bright and airy! Love the window seating!

Just had a chill 5 star experience at Tea on Piedmont. They've done a great job at creating a relaxing space conducive to enjoying a cup of tea and a dessert. It's light and spacious with a minimalist Zen vibe. I immediately recognized this was a true tea place, not just a boba shop. It's clearly for people who appreciate high quality tea. I went in only knowing I wanted a boba tea after seeing someone inside enjoying one. The person at the counter was friendly and patient. He asked me a few questions and suggested the hojicha boba, and my tea was ready even before I found a place to sit! It was fantastic! The hojicha flavor was subtle but bright. The boba was fresh, mild in flavor, and had the perfect chew with the right amount of softness. There's also a nicely curated assortment of teas, tea accessories, and books about tea to choose from. Tea on Piedmont is officially my newest addiction! I can't wait to try more of their teas!

After dinner, we wanted something refreshing, and Tea On Piedmont definitely hit the spot. The shop has a clean, modern look with a small retail area featuring beautiful tea ceramics, pots, and even books to help improve your tea-making skills. I went with the Hōjicha iced tea, and I really enjoyed it. It was simple, well-balanced, and not overly sweet--something that's surprisingly hard to find these days with so many extravagant boba and tea spots around. A great place to unwind and enjoy a quality cup of tea.

Also known as where people take their sushi from Ebiko to eat because Ebiko doesn't have seating. It's across the street. Otherwise it's a nice place to bring your laptops and do work. Plenty of seating and window lighting. They make their tea fresh. I had to wait 10 mins one time for my oolong to be prepared. They use timers and everything! You can tell they're serious with the craft.

I love this little spot. Found it randomly one day on my way to teach and got a Joco! It was so delicious, I love a milk tea and the Jasmine hit the spot. I stopped by again today before work to grab a Matcha and got it with brown sugar. It was perfect made! I also got the everything scone/biscuit, it is beyond delicious. The staff is always super friendly and the service is quick.

Elegant tea in Oakland! Tea of Piedmont's tea selection is great. It is clear that the tea is high quality. They all have a very dynamic flavor. The flavors are strong but not overpowering. The drinks are not incredibly sweet so it lets the earthy flavors of the teas shine. The boba was a bit hard but it wasn't much of a bother. The drinks were very pleasant! They definitely are a bit pricey (averaging around $7+). I don't believe you can adjust the size so this price is a bit steep although the quality is very good. The cafe itself is very cute. It is pretty minimalist but has a lot of seating. This seating isn't necessarily the most comfortable with wooden benches and low tables, but it fits the vibes well. The barista was super sweet and approachable. She finished the drinks super quick too. I would say the menu is a bit confusing at first because of the way that it's formatted, but after taking the time to look at it, it's not too bad. I would definitely come again!

One of my favs. Small menu compared to most. Paid lot or paid street parking so it's def not the easiest to get in or out of but their drinks are tasty, without being too sweet. Unique enough that it keeps me coming back, friendly staff, and my fav sitting nook around. They've got seating n music going but the seating is perfect for ppl watching. My current obsession is the ::::joco latte w house made mango add on ::::: yummmers. The mango is seasonal tho but I love the strawberry too. My default is the refreshing :::: iced chrysanthemum w light honey and boba:::: sad/happy this place is outta the way for me most of the time haha

I've been here a few times and like it. I ordered the Chrysanthemum Tea and it's nice. The servers are friendly and very knowledgeable. The space has a nice, chill vibe. I'm a tea connoisseur and always enjoy looking at the creative blends and tea sets on the side wall. Just a sweet space to read, work on a laptop, or even chat with a friend.

Cool spot with great service and spacious working areas. The milk tea with boba was pretty good.

The Joco Latte is decent!! Very creamy and the coconut flavor is prominent. The jasmine tea is fragrant, especially in the aftertaste! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The interior of the cafe is cute and spacious. Lots of people enjoying the vibes and studying here. Parking is rough though!

Lots of seating available, with both inside and outside options. I ordered an iced matcha latte and didn't wait long to receive it. Lively environment where people were able to work on their laptop or catch up (they do have music playing).

    Prickly Pear Lemonade

I usually enjoy their houjicha latte a lot! But today since they were advertising their spring seasonal flavor prickly pear, I asked for a recommendation and they recommended the prickly pear lemonade. I took their suggestion, and while the bright color is striking, I fear the flavor is just $6.50 lemonade + tip. I'll probably stick with my usual from here out

Simple, straightforward menu with good tasting drinks. Strawberry milk is super kid friendly and tasted fresh and not too sweet. They said there signature is the hojicha latte, but I was feeling matcha (which was a fine tasting matcha latte).

The moment your fork slides through it, you know it's different. The cake is unbelievably moist with that velvety crumb red velvet is supposed to have. It isn't dry, crumbly, or overly fluffy. It's soft enough to melt in your mouth, yet substantial enough to give you that satisfying bakery bite. Every layer is rich, tender, and perfectly balanced. Then comes the cream cheese frosting... and this is where they completely win you over. It's thick, silky, and luxuriously smooth without being overly sweet. It has just enough tang to balance the richness of the cake, creating that perfect bite where neither the frosting nor the cake overpowers the other. The flavor is what keeps replaying in your head hours later. You get that subtle cocoa note that's unique to authentic red velvet, followed by the creamy tang of the frosting that practically melts across your tongue. It's rich without feeling heavy, sweet without becoming overwhelming. Every bite somehow tastes just as good as the first. This isn't the kind of cake you politely eat because someone brought dessert. This is the kind of cake where you pause after the first bite, look at it for a second, and think... "Where has this been all my life?" If you've been chasing that bakery-quality, melt-in-your-mouth red velvet cake that lives rent-free in your memory long after it's gone, stop searching. Run to Gregory's Desserts. This one creates a new standard.

A few years ago, there was definitely a dip in communication when I was trying to order a birthday cake, but since then, I've had the pleasure of enjoying Gregory's treats many times. His cheesecake is truly unlike any I've ever had. The chocolate brownies and chocolate chip cookies are so good, they'll make you feel like you're not even on planet Earth! Seriously, they're that delicious. And the chocolate cake? It tastes like it was baked by a sweet Southern grandmother. It literally melts in your mouth. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that every time I go, I buy all four items and happily eat them over the next few days! Hands down, Gregory's is the BEST BAKERY IN OAKLAND. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out!

Overall, it's been a good experience every time. Parking can be challenging depending on the time of day. Most of the parking is on the street, so you'll need to keep an eye out for pedestrians and bicyclists while looking for a spot. That's probably the biggest inconvenience of visiting this place. There is usually a 15 to 20-minute wait whenever we come for dessert, but we've always been seated within the quoted wait time, which we appreciate. The restaurant itself is fairly small, so the dining area can feel crowded. Tables are very close together, and you're practically sitting back-to-back with other guests. Because of this, the noise level can get pretty high, and it's easy to overhear conversations from nearby tables. The desserts are the highlight here. The BingSu is excellent, and the lava cake is one of our favorites. The menu is accessed through a QR code, making ordering simple and convenient. Food portions are decent, although prices are definitely on the premium side. Service is efficient, and the food and desserts usually arrive pretty quickly. We used to go to their city location regularly, but over the years we've found ourselves visiting this location more often because the area feels more comfortable and convenient for us. That has made this our go-to spot whenever we're craving dessert. Overall, this is a great place for dessert. The quality of the desserts keeps us coming back, but the difficult parking situation and cramped seating prevent it from being a full 5-star experience. Would definitely return for the BingSu and lava cake.

The Original is a classic for a reason with deeply caramelized top and creamy interior. I also tried the Iribancha, a roasted green tea flavor. It's intense, smoky, and unique..maybe not one I could finish in one sitting, but definitely memorable and recommend for those who want that earthy/smoky taste.
