Mango sago, Thai tea, classic milk tea.
    Liliana H.

Open in thanksgiving night so that is nice and we appreciate! Can order online too so that's very helpful. But I think the flavors were watered down. Maybe less items on the menu for higher quality teas but they have a big menu and doesnt hit the flavors well in all of the ones we ordered.

This is one of my go-to spots for boba in Oakland. There's not much frill to it, since they only sell drinks and don't offer snacks or seating. Even so, out of all the iTea locations, this one is my favorite. I usually order the Jasmine Milk Tea or the Strawberry Mango Fruit Tea (pictured). I like the milk tea because it doesn't taste overly artificial and has a nice balance. It's not too creamy and the tea flavor isn't overwhelming. The Strawberry Mango Fruit Tea is a great choice if you want something refreshing with a well-balanced sweet and tart flavor. The drink quality can be inconsistent at times. More often than not, though, it's solid. The only downside is the Chinatown location, which can make parking a challenge.

It was so delicious, they had flavors I had not seen in other boba tea spots and the cheese foam was deliciously salty, which balanced out the sweetness of the grape!

this is my favorite mango sago boba place of all time! whenever i visit the bay, i always have to make a stop here. they make the best mango sago & it doesn't compare to any other places i've tried. they're usually pretty busy but the line moves fairly quick & the orders usually take 5 mins or less. i love i-tea & i recommend it to all my friends and family whenever they visit the bay! 10000/10! :)

It's a hole in the wall i-tea location. Full menu? I'm not sure. I only order the boba drinks. Fresh taro slush for the win. Enjoy a Chinatown original

Sun moon lake tea with boba and sea salt cream

Oakland's Chinatown i-Tea is a miss for me. It's an ordering counter! No self serve kiosk or tables so be mindful of this before coming. Here's what I ordered: Brown sugar boba latte with tofuhua: tofuhua tasted verrry slightly sour and with a curdled texture. I've had a lot of tofuhua from the Davis i-Tea and it was much more shapely than curdly. My boba was also overdone. Got 50% sweetness and it tasted like 100%! Sun moon lake tea with boba and sea salt cream: 50% sweetness but tasted like the tea was slightly watered down. definitely less sweet than the brown sugar boba latte. Boba was much firmer (perhaps a bit too firm), and the sea salt cream layer was nice and thick. I really wanted to like this location since I have very fond memories of their Davis location. The only things similar are the namesake and the efficiency with calling out orders when they're ready.

Matcha Milk Tea with Matcha Pudding and Boba

A small store was a complete understatement for the description of this place. They only had inside space enough for a total of two people (quite literally) or three people if they don't mind pressing up their bodies against each other. But, typically only one person would take up the space. And that space is only for placing your order. Once you're done with that, you were supposed to step out with them and wait until they call your order number. Line outside the store could get pretty long as well during the rush hour, especially right after lunchtime. However, one good thing was that the line was going pretty fast when we were there. I ordered their Matcha Milk Tea with Matcha Pudding and Boba (substituted from red bean), and as usual, they made this drink perfectly. The matcha flavor came through, the drink itself was creamy and delicious, the matcha pudding was soft (even though it was a little bit more gritty than usual - maybe because they were in a rush when making it so on that day or something), and finally the Boba was cooked to perfection (soft, chewy with perfect sweetness). My drink was definitely not perfect, but I still thoroughly and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely get that again if I am in the area next time.

There are many options for boba around Downtown Oakland, but this shop seems to be the most popular. When I went, there was a line, and we had to wait about 10 minutes to get our drinks. There are no seating options available, so this is mainly for to-go orders. i-Tea has many boba selections to choose from--fruit teas, jelly series, teaspressos, and more. Some of their popular drinks include Kiwi Fruit Tea, Dragon Fruity Cheezma, and Taro & Grass Jelly Iced Milk, which all sound delicious. I opted for the Strawberry Mango Fruit Tea with boba and lychee jelly. Their boba was very delicious, and the fruit tea was quite refreshing. Their boba prices were decent. I'd definitely come back here for a quick boba fix.

The i-Tea in Oakland Chinatown is a tiny takeout counter. I walk by it a lot and there are always people in line to order and waiting for their food, so it's definitely a popular spot for boba in the area. My main complaint about this location is that they don't display the full menu outside, only a list of their popular drinks. I had to pull up their menu on their website while waiting in line to make sure the drink I wanted to order was available. They're quick with making the drinks in the back, and I had my drink within a couple minutes of ordering. I got the Hokkaido milk tea with egg pudding and litchi jelly at 50% sugar and 30% ice for $5.75. It wasn't the best Hokkaido milk tea I've ever had, but it satisfied my craving. Not all boba places serve this drink, so I was glad to find that i-Tea does.

Just look at this bev! ENOUGH SAID!!! i got theeeeee AVOCADO SMOOTHIE with boba and omg it was sooooo bussssssstacular. 10/10 must get again and yall should for SURE try it! They have other really good drinks! I like the winter melon, theee mango crystal thingy, anddd the mango sago but the avocado smoothie is for sure my new favorite it is so fresh and creamy!! YALL NEED TO TRY IT!! :DDD

For my taro milk tea heads, this is it. I'm not going to speak or review on anything else because that taro milk tea was shmacks. Mind my slang please, but this taro milk tea was the one. I don't think I've had any other taro milk tea as good as this one. No powder sweet bs. They literally smash up taro and you taste it, along with the sips of boba. This is the go to for my taro milk tea people.

I love coming to this boba shop when I'm visiting Oakland. It's in a convenient location in Chinatown and the service is quick. You walk about two feet into the door and order from the window and wait outside. I've gotten fruit teas and milk teas, and it's nice that the boba is chewy. You can choose the level of sweetness and ice as well. Favorite fruit tea is the mango. The mango is always sweet! I get the creme brûlée boba milk tea with 50% sweetness and half ice. Highly recommend both!

This place is literally a hole in the wall. They used to have a tiny chair or two to sit inside but I guess crime rate has forced them to have a bank teller-like setup now. You wait and line up on the streets. The drinks are decent, sometimes the service can take a while depending on what you order. Fresh takes longer, which might be a good sign? I had a stamp card for a buy-10-get1free but they won't honor it anymore, guess i'll just keep it as a souvenir.

    Ask the Community - i-Tea

Is i tea open during coronavirus?

Not sure! But, last month I got milk tea from the shop!

    Are there non-dairy milk options?

Yes, they have slush there, too!!!

Are they still using the stamp card? 10th drink free?

Yes, you sign in with a phone number and they stamp it after the purchase. 10th drink is a freebie.

Do they have happy hour here?

No, this is a boba tea spot. As far as I know, there's only a rewards program tenth drink free.

    Is there seating inside?

No seating inside. A handful of adults could barely fit standing up. Buy your drinks and go into the plaza around the corner and sit on those benches.

Overall, it's been a good experience every time. Parking can be challenging depending on the time of day. Most of the parking is on the street, so you'll need to keep an eye out for pedestrians and bicyclists while looking for a spot. That's probably the biggest inconvenience of visiting this place. There is usually a 15 to 20-minute wait whenever we come for dessert, but we've always been seated within the quoted wait time, which we appreciate. The restaurant itself is fairly small, so the dining area can feel crowded. Tables are very close together, and you're practically sitting back-to-back with other guests. Because of this, the noise level can get pretty high, and it's easy to overhear conversations from nearby tables. The desserts are the highlight here. The BingSu is excellent, and the lava cake is one of our favorites. The menu is accessed through a QR code, making ordering simple and convenient. Food portions are decent, although prices are definitely on the premium side. Service is efficient, and the food and desserts usually arrive pretty quickly. We used to go to their city location regularly, but over the years we've found ourselves visiting this location more often because the area feels more comfortable and convenient for us. That has made this our go-to spot whenever we're craving dessert. Overall, this is a great place for dessert. The quality of the desserts keeps us coming back, but the difficult parking situation and cramped seating prevent it from being a full 5-star experience. Would definitely return for the BingSu and lava cake.
