I was always dumbfounded whenever I'd see a friend with a cracked smartphone screen. I've dropped my phone so many times without managing to do such a thing. Unfortunately, my luck ran out a few weeks ago. I must have dropped my iPhone at just the right angle, right as I was headed to my car to go to work. Granted, the screen was not like others I've seen that were completely shattered, but the cracks bothered me enough to get the glass replaced. Thanks to Yelp, I headed straight to the Tech Armor kiosk, right near Brug's mauka street level location at Ala Moana Center. Justin and Abe (I think that was his name) were super friendly and easy to talk to. And they were fast! Abe (?) installed the new screen in 20 minutes. He checked my phone afterward to make sure everything was connected properly, and found that one of the new screen's ports was defective. They profusely apologized before installing another replacement screen. I appreciated their meticulousness and honesty, since I would have walked away with a non-operational screen if they hadn't checked! They were very apologetic and gave me a small discount for the trouble, which was nice of them. An Apple repair for my iPhone 7 without AppleCare would have cost $149. I was able to purchase a tempered glass protector for my screen in addition to the repair for that same price. I found out as I was talking to them that Tech Armor is a locally owned business, as well. The field of tech repair is dominated by huge corporations and chains, so it felt nice to support a small business. I'll be back with my future phone repair needs! read more

Being clumsy, I broke my phone and needed a quick repair as I also use it for business. The repair was very quick and looked great. However, my battery immediately started draining incredibly fast even on low power mode. When I say immediately, I mean that I picked up my phone at 9 o'clock, and it dropped 25% by the time I went to bed at 11 even though I only played music for about 30 minutes and sent a few texts. Generally, at most, that would take about 10% of the battery. I took it back to the kiosk, and the gentleman there insisted that the battery was not dropping due to the screen replacement. However, after googling the issue, it's been a known problem since 2014 at least. Just search "Battery dropping rapidly after screen repair". Tons of people talking about it. Not sure I buy the fact that a company that repairs screens can be oblivious to that. They sold me another battery but it didn't fix the problem. Very disappointed. read more

What a great location, Tech Armor has a kiosk right in front of Mcdonald's Ewa wing of the mall. I didn't plan on getting my son's iphone looked at, as I was on my way to shop at Victoria Secret. Tech Armor's kiosk caught my eye, along the way I stopped to see what Tech Armor could do to help with my son's phone. Josh was very helpful, he is really great at multi-tasking. I dropped off my son's phone, went to VS, came back and phone was done. Although there was no luck with repairs on Iphone, the service provided was outstanding. Actually I already took the phone to another shop to get it looked at and had no luck and just wanted to get a second opinion. After shopping at VS & stopping by to pick up phone, Josh was just about done with putting the Iphone back together. I noticed he was getting busy, with 4 other customers. He was able to put the Iphone back at the same time help with the other customers. I don't mind at all because it was only Josh running the shop. He did give me some great information on smart phones and cell phone carriers and told me to take the Iphone to Apple store. I am curious and asked Josh, since its only him at the shop- for Bathrooms break & if he needs to pick up lunch who would cover him, simple- he just locks up the kiosk. Josh seems to have everything all under control. Note: before taking iphone to get looked at, I called a business listed, the person who helped me said he will charge me 90.00 just to take a look at the phone to see what is wrong. Great service and prices on any iPhone repair! Messaged multiple places to inquire about repairing our iPhone 5's power button and replacing it's battery. Tech Armor had the best price by far. They are a small kiosk located in the Ewa Wing of the Ala Moana Mall, right in front of McDonald's. The repair itself took just over an hour but I had to wait for 2 hours, as there were 2 other phones that he needed to fix first. Second review based on a return visit. Results much different than my first review. Went in for a pixel resolution problem on my iPhone but ended up with it no longer able to even booting up. I am ok with the phone going dead and buying a new one. Just wish he had told me of the risk and advise me to back up my data before taking the iphone apart. Special family event and once-in-a-lifetime trip pix of last few months now irretrievable. Not sure or can believe the explanation given. Something to the effect that one or more tiny electrical/chip pins inside broke off when the took apart the phone Seems like the experience is highly variable and depends on exactly who and the repair skill level of the one manning the kiosk at the time of visit. read more

Most incredible service for phone repair on the island. We had a problem with water damage and took it to apple to get it fixed, they took it to the back and then came back to us and asked us for almost $600 claiming it was out of warranty saying the phone would never turn on again. All of our vacation photos were on there. The phone has warranty for another 6 months.. funny the only thing that isn't covered is water damage.. on a "water resistant phone". The irony. Anyways, tech armor fixed the phone and cleaned it all up. We got all our photos back and a perfectly fine working phone. They are so honest and they literally fix the phone right in front of you. Cracked screen on iPhone 7 Plus - the gentlemen replaced it within 45 minutes and upon inspection it seemed fine but a little dim. After getting back to my car I saw the brightness setting was around 75% so I boosted it all the way up to 100% and it is still dim. Horrible Experience here. Went here 3 weeks ago to get my phone screen fixed. And the guy at the stand, dont remember his name, was almost disappointed with having to do work. I brought 2 iphones and was told diagnostics would be free but then he said he would rather just fix the 6 instead of looking at the 5 as well.... seemed kinda lazy but whatever, i just needed a working phone. I left the 6 with cracked screen, and came back in an hour and the phone was done. I left it off for the day and turned it on the next day. Screen was working and fixed. But now the phone keeps cycling between LTE, 3G, 1X and turning my wifi and bluetooth off and on. Whoever repaired the screen definitely fudged something up inside because i cannot use the phone for anything. On top of this the initial not wanting to even look at the other device to repair(easy money for them) was a downfall. So now i am 100 dollars down, with an even MORE BROKE iPHONE! And no, There was no damage by me to the iphone after i picked it up. No water damage, falling damage, nothing. Obviously caused by their mess up. AVOID THIS PLACE! read more

Wonderful service from Matan!!!! I was referred to by the managers of AT&T in ala moana mall. Josue and Matan are very friendly guys! Matan was quick at replacing my iPhone 7 screen. He was honest and reliable, he stuck to his word about pricing, quality, and the time it would take to replace the screen. I spoke with him over the phone prior to going, I was very skeptical going and having it done, but AT&T insurance Asurion was taking a long to file a claim and I was referred by AT&T managers, which is a plus. I trust people that refer people. I needed to have my screen fixed ASAP. Price was exactly the same as apple store, but with Tech Armor I got a deal, so I saved money. I got a good deal with the screen repair and a good deal for my new screen protector case (similar to Lifeproof, this case cheaper and looks the same) The repair took exactly about 15-20 minutes exactly like what Matan said. It's a walk in service, I don't think they take appointments. I don't recommend this shop for phone repair. The person working at the store wasn't professional. I brought in my phone to replace the cracked camera lens glass cover. He wasn't careful or gentle while removing the cracked glass cover. This left small broken pieces inside, on top of the lens, causing reflections when taking photos. Also, while removing the small broken glass, he scratched the trim ring around the lens in several areas. After going back to have it fixed again, it seems the actual camera lens has been scratched as well, as there are still reflections when taking photos. read more

Took my iPhone 6+ to change out the charging port that was worn out, didn't catch the guys name that helped me but he was a slim guy with glasses, he was top notch! Had my phone back with a new charging port and tempered glass screen protector within about 40 minutes. Couldn't have gone better. Will definitely be back when I need something else fixed. On a side note: dude that helped me had some lady right up in his face arguing with him about the price of something and being extremely rude and yelling at him, and he was nothing but professional and courteous to her.
