I'm not one to leave reviews often, but I simply had to after my experience with Mac Mouse Club. My iMac 27 was overheating and I decided to give them a call. They advised me to drop it off and they would take a look. After diagnosis, John informed me that the graphic card was failing and recommended against repairing it due to cost-effectiveness. I ended up purchasing a new iMac instead. What impressed me the most was that they didn't charge me for the diagnosis. I truly appreciate their honesty and integrity, and strongly believe that they deserve to be compensated for their service. I would have gladly paid at least $25 or $35 for their expertise. It's evident that they're a small business that values their customers over profit, which is refreshing in today's world. Even though I live on the other side of town, I didn't mind driving all the way to Waikiki because it was well worth it. I needed to see what's wrong with my laptop that wouldn't charge (MacBook Pro 2015). They ran some tests, opened it and did a diagnostics, all free of charge in less than a day! Rolf was awesome. My iMac crashed and I had not backed it up in the 8 years we've had it. Took it to the Genuis Bar and they hooked it up as an external hard drive. Everything was gone! Somehow the hard drive renamed it's and the tech told me in ten years he had never seen that before. Great. With his suggestion I sent it away to DriveSavers. They ran an evaluation and said there was a severe logical issue. Based off of the anticipated difficulty it would be $1,800 to $2,200. We just could not afford that so I had it sent back. A friend recommended Rolf. He said Rolf saved his data from a crashed drive and did the same thing for his son. So I contacted him. Rolf was easy to work with from the get go. Never made any kind of false promises, but "if can, can. If no can, no can". He offered to have me drop off, but I went up to his place. Everything was super casual, so it felt a little uncomfortable at first, but based off of my friends recommendation, I trusted Rolf knew what he was doing. In the end I got most, if not all my files. Some videos got chopped up, there were files that I don't think I have ever seen before, and there is no organization or descriptive file names, but I'll just have to go through it. Since it was a little more time consuming, my total bill was $358, much better than $2,000. Check out Rolf. Great guy, great service. When my Mac Pro started crashing and would not boot up I decided to take it to another computer shop in the Ala Moana area that was recommended by a friend, but instead of helping me with my computer issues, they told me to take it to the Apple Store. I decided to try MacMouse Club instead. After dropping off my Mac Pro tower and explaining the problems I was having I left it in their capable hands. A couple hours later I called to check on the status and was relieved to hear that they had diagnosed the problem being one of my hard drives was failing. We decided to change out both of my 500GB internal hard drives for two 1 TB hard drives and I would go back the next day to pick it up. When I arrived to pick the tower up Rolf's assistant went over what modifications had been done, and he took about a half-hour showing me a few things to make the machine run faster and smoother in the future. We decided that I would bring the tower back at a later date to have two more 1TB hard drives installed inside it. On his recommendation I am also doubling my RAM memory to max out the systems memory capacity which will speed up the system when I am working on more RAM intensive programs like using video editing software. When I originally had this Mac Pro custom built I had designed it so that I would have plenty of room to upgrade it in the future, and with the help of MacMouse Club, I am finally going to do those long overdue upgrades. Superior and fast service! I was gifted a hand-me-down MacBook with a long history of falls and drops. The battery had arched into the track pad rendering it unusable, the CD wouldn't open, and the OS usually wouldn't boot at all. I left the machine with Rolf on a Friday and didn't expect any news about it until a week later, until he calls me on a Sunday saying "It's been ready to pick up for some time now. When do you want to take it back?" The RAM was upgraded, the hard drive was replaced and the OS was the latest release. Rolf gave me the options to purchase the battery separately to save money and to consider leaving the CD port as it is if i wouldn't use it. There is no hesitation in giving Macmouse 5 stars; I would give them 10 stars if I could. From the get go, I was greeted with nothing less than genuine respect and hospitality. He was patient when hearing my concerns and responded with offers such as meeting me in his lobby for pick up, going to best buy to purchase my SSD harddrive, and was very prompt with answering my phone calls and emails. He transformed my 2009 imac into a brand new computer. My HDD instantly failed and he replaced it with a SSD, which completely saved me from buying a brand new iMac which would have costed me 3x the amount that I paid for the harddrive upgrade that he did. This is a long overdue review that I owe Rolf and co. for saving my life, literally. As a college student, I cannot emphasize how vital and important my Macbook Pro is to me. Literally everything that I do for class, work, and life outside of Manoa is on my precious 2013 baby. I came to this place for two crises and they have never disappointed me. I probably disappointed them, if anything, for not doing this review in a timely manner. Panic Case #1: November 2015 With a multitude of exams and projects to complete, I began to work on my computer for long hours of the day and night. With the convenience of the Macbook, I tend to place it into sleep, rather than properly shutting it off (bad habit that I'm sure many people do). This caused my computer to slow down remarkably because of the amount of programs running in the background and I am not necessarily the most patient person. I needed to head out of the house but my computer was taking forever and a day to quit Microsoft Office programs. Thus, out of sheer frustration and the risk of being late, I decided to force shut it down but come to find out later on, I may have damaged the hard drive and lost all my files because no matter how many times I had rebooted it, it would not display anything. With panic all over my mind and the tears about to converge, I told my boss that I needed to get this checked out and that I'd have to call off that day, and she was very understanding. She gave me an outstanding recommendation of MacMouse club and off I went. Rolf took me in without an appointment and immediately told me to calm down. I must have looked extremely frazzled. My worst fear seemed confirmed, as my hard drive may have been compromised by my impatience and inability to wait. Although he did not make me any promises about completely restoring my laptop, he said he would do his best. A couple of days later, he had called me back and said that everything was good to go. He said he wasn't sure how he did it but he replaced a wire within the drive and it was able to restore the computer display and hard drive to the way it used to be. Mind you, he was able to do this within 3 days of drop off and gave me periodic calls and updates to keep me notified of the latest work being done on my computer. That kind of service is priceless and I am grateful for everything that he did, especially since my finals were coming up. Price came out to about $260 but for the service and time that it took to get my laptop back, I am not complaining. Rolf is great and his staff is equally as wonderful, I went back a couple of months later because of an update error that I had encountered because again, I was too impatient for Apple to do it's software updates. Lesson learned, the hard way yet again. They took my baby in around March 2016 and was able to restore it's function after another hard drive issue. I am not technologically sound as other people but my friend who worked at Apple basically told me that I was screwed and that I better had backed up all my files. Grateful that Rolf and his company never strayed away from a challenge and this certainly was one that I was very pessimistic about. They even gave me free software access to Microsoft Office extensions such as Pages and Keynote and I am happily using that as well. In addition to the great life stories and insights that I've gained from conversing with Rolf, he has given me practical advice on how to better maintain my files and my computer. I now have a back up drive that I use regularly and try to limit my computer usage to an hour or so in order to prevent overheating. He even taught me to make sure that enough air was coming to the machine so that it doesn't overheat. So if you're looking for an Apple store alternative, I heavily encourage you to see Rolf and these guys. They know what they're doing, they do it well, and they do it with Aloha. read more

Worst service ever!! If I had the option to give no stars, then I totally would. We brought in my grandpa's MacBook Pro to have it fixed yesterday, and we called them today to ask for an update. They couldn't fix it but the guy on the phone said they're willing to help with the data for no additional charge, my grandpa was getting frustrated because they couldn't fix the MacBook so I said no (my grandpa isn't fluent in English, so I was talking to them). The guy kept on asking and our answer was still the same, so why keep on pushing it? The total ended up being $119 for a service charge and my grandpa was getting mad because they couldn't fix anything, they just told us what was wrong so why did we have to pay $119? The guy on the phone was being rude about it because we didn't understand why we had to pay so much when they couldn't do shit. Excuse my language, but the guy had the WORST customer service EVER. I am very satisfied with the service I received from Rolf. My old 2009 MacBook Pro was near death. I just wanted to know whether it could be repaired and wanted an expert's opinion. Rolf explained what would need to be done to repair it and I agreed with him that it was not worth it. However, he could transfer the data from my old hard drive to my new laptop's hard drive. I couldn't be without my laptop, so he was able to do it within a day. I am now using my new laptop with all my files from my old laptop. In addition to his technical skills, he is knowledgeable about a lot of things and I learned a lot from just talking with him. He is patient and knows his stuff. MacMouse Club is amazing. My mac desk top hard drive crashed unexpectedly and I took it to Mac Made Easy for repair. They were not able to retrieve any data from the drive but did restore some from my damaged external back up. After a long wait on the phone with Apple, I was able to keep my hard drive and bring it to MacMouse Club to see if there was any chance of getting my files back. To my surprise, Rolf restored my system and was able to retrieve everything I lost and then some. He even offered a lesson at pickup with some great tools and tricks for my MAC. He included setting up the cloud and a new external drive too. Professional and friendly, I highly recommend this company but especially Rolf. He's brilliantly interesting and will take great care of any customer he has.
