They told me my tire pressure light was on because my gas cap wasn't on tight enough. I might have been born at night but it wasn't last night. Also they didn't check the system that regulates that so the light never went off. April the office manager was terrific. I used this garage for years and had some good work done there. Last winter my civic was having problems and I took it there for a diagnostic. They were not sure what the problem was and suggested a litany of repairs totaling well over $1,200. They wanted $300 for a tune-up, and several hundred dollars to replace the thermostat, as well to replace other parts. I was skeptical to say the least so I got a second opinion. Another garage listened to the symptoms over the phone and suggested I could start with replacing the thermostat, which he could do for $70. I got prices on the other things that Tech Metrics suggested and found Tech Metric's prices were more than double the price elsewhere After I got the thermostat replaced, the problem seemed to go away. Nothing more was needed. After that experience I was convinced Tech Metrics was trying to take advantage of someone they thought was young and not knowledgeable about cars (which I admit I am). They proposed work that didn't need to be done for a price that was exorbitant. And they tried to take advantage of someone who drives a shitty car and can't afford to be fleeced. These guys basically told me my rust free Honda Civic with 103,000 miles on it was junk. I understand we all want to make a buck but these guys took it too far. I was told my car needed roughly 1500$ worth of unnecessary repairs. The front desk lady even said that my transmission might be on its way out, but they could look up the blue book value and I might just want to trade it in for something newer. Symptoms: Car idle was bouncing between 1500rpm and 3500rpm The transmission wasn't shifting properly Check engine light ACTUAL PROBLEM: A ground needed to be grounded = I Hr of Labor This took care of the skipping transmission. IAC valve was gunked up. This took care of the check engine light and the revving. Normally a shop will just replace these, not that they're the hardest thing to replace right on top of the engine, but sometimes when you clean the IAC it'll start acting up again so it's best to spend the 200$ and get the new one, if you don't know any wrench monkeys, my BF took mine apart when he got home a week later, sprayed some carb cleaner on it and it's been fine for over 6 months. The WHOLE CAR IS FINE. ITS GREAT. I mean it's still a civic but whatever. If you don't know about vehicles and are on a budget, I wouldnt trust these guys for a minute. read more

I had calipers replaced on my CR-V 1 year ago at this place and just found out they actually never replaced them and charged me anyways.

I had borrowed a Honda Accord from my son in Boston, and no sooner had I brought it to Maine, I noticed oil dripping on the driveway. It wasn't more than a 3-4 inch circle each morning, but my driveway was taking a hit so I decided to bring it in for a look. I was guided to Tech Metrics by a local friend, and I made an appointment to have the car checked out. As it turned out, this was not an oil issue, but a transmission fluid leak. I was welcomed by April and the team upon arrival, and I was immediately briefed on the fact that the transmission fluid was overfilled, and may be dripping due to the overfill. (They also explained that it could be a transmission leak that was much more serious.) We agreed to drain the fluid, refill to the proper levels with dye infused transmission fluid, and then return in a week for a check with a black light to see where the leak might be. Unbelievably, during the inspection the week later, the car no longer leaked transmission fluid, and was certified OK to drive with no leaks. (This team could have had me invest in more expensive procedures, but took the most logical approach to resolving the issue first....Thank you team!) I was totally impressed by Tech Metrics. April is the best customer service manager - knowledgeable, welcoming and very experienced; A pleasure. The team of technicians were definitely A+ in diagnostic skills and experience. I really appreciated the personal attention they gave to me. After 50 years of driving cars and interfacing with repair shops, this is one of the best establishments I have ever experienced. If you have a Honda or Acura, be sure to stop in here....you will be glad you did. read more

I cannot say enough good about the folks at Tech Metrics. I bought a used Honda Civic about 10 years ago not long after moving to Portland and was looking for a garage when someone recommended this one and I am so glad. It turned out that they had done all the servicing on my car for the previous owner so I had all the records going back to when it was new. They kept it in top shape for me for several years until I sold it to a friend about 3 years ago. It is still going strong. My current car is a Honda Fit so I take it there as well and continue to be pleased with the personal service I get there. They have never steered me wrong. read more

I've been meaning to write a review for awhile, but now I'm finally getting around to it! I can't say enough good things about this shop! I was a little anxious to leave LexConnection, across the street, when I sold my Lexus and bought an Acura, but I was at a loss for a reputable and trustworthy repair shop. Since I had such good luck with a make-specific shop with my Lexus, I wanted to find the same thing for my Acura. Through the grapevine of Honda and Acura owners, I came across Tech Metrics and had heard great things about them. Well, all that I heard was true, and although I never thought in a million years that I would find a place that I loved and trusted like LexConnection, I have! April, the shop manager, is truly amazing- efficient, helpful, and very hard-working. She has fit me in for emergency appointments on more than one occasion, and the mechanics are top notch as well. They will never recommend service that does not need to be done, and will give me honest estimates on when certain maintenance/replacements NEED to be done if I'm tight on money and can't do it this very minute. This is a very honest, hard-working, trust-worthy crew! Take your Honda or Acura to these guys and you WON'T be disappointed! read more

Our family has been using Tech Metrics since about the time they started in the late 1980s. In fact, when I was ready to ready to replace my old Accord, I got another Honda (this time a CRV) specifically because I wanted Linn to service whatever I bought . As a female, I used to question whether I was being taken advantage of by repair shops, be they at car dealers or independent, but that has never been an issue with LInn and his crew. I trust their advice implicitly and they've never steered me wrong. When my 1997 CRV finally dies (if It ever does) and if Linn hasn't retired, I'll be buying another Honda. read more
