They reliably called with updates and thanked us for our patience. Great communication regarding what they found to be wrong and what they would be replacing to fix the problem, with time estimates as best they could :) I will definitely be a return customer with any other electronics in need of repair. Second, random things that I never had an issue with became an issue after getting it back like when I don't touch the mouse and the pc goes into sleep mode, it won't wake back up. I went to Best Buy initially (I don't know why, maybe I was feeling particularly stupid and…read morethick-headed at the time) and was told that to repair a broken LCD on a 400 dollar laptop would cost...300 dollars. Also, they would have to mail it in to the repair center. I asked why it was so expensive, and the guy said "well, LCDs are really expensive, so the part alone is 200 dollars". I was thinking, ok, who the fuck falls for this crap from a pasty dickwad like this guy? Who would ever think an LCD screen was more than 80 bucks on amazon or ebay? This is why Best Buy is going out of business. The employees that work there are shit. The products are generally shit (unless you firmly deny geek squad protection, warranty protection, repair plans, 5 year soul sucking plans, etc), and honestly they operate on the assumption that Americans are stupid. Yo, Best Buy, we have wikipedia and google, man. Stop being so 1999. Anyway, I called up Charm City Networks, and they said "yeah the part is like 60-80 bucks, but you can buy it online and bring it in and we just charge for labor". They charged 100 bucks for labor(fair enough) and so I went in to see if it was just the LCD that had a problem. They checked the computer, fixed it within a day, and I picked it up the next day after lunch. It was as easy and painless as possible, and affordable as hell. The guys that work there are very nice and helpful, and generally will go out of their way to make sure you have a great customer experience. Everything in that last paragraph is the exact opposite of Best Buy...which is why I recommend these guys for any computer/laptop hardware repair work.

I noticed this business not only because of it's clever name (aka Woman operated-BONUS!), but also because of the availability to get a fast quote! Nikki responded quickly with a fair price, she answered all of my questions through yelp messages right away and provided me with a wide flexible range of appointments (Im a single mother of a 3yo so this was a huge plus!) and said it would take her about 30-40mins to complete. The very next day we headed to my appt, it was right off the highway and easy to locate (tip: when you arrive at the "mini strip mall", you park and then follow the path around to the backside of the building and follow the arrows). My son & I were absolutely amazed by the beautiful setting of this location! The inside of Geek Girl was perfect.. Very chic with the perfect amount of feminine touch to remind you who is in charge Nikki greeted us with a smile and was more than happy to answer any of my questions, i handed over my sad broken phone and then my son & I stepped right outside the office to enjoy the views. You will experience nature at its finest along your walk. Yes I know thats not really relevant to the quality of work, but it was so much fun to get to watch my lil one throwing rocks into the adjacent river and watching ducks swim by. She returned my laptop within 48 hours and everything has worked great since. Since then I took her my iPhone 6s after my friend dropped it in the toilet which she fixed within a day. The service was prompt and reliable and cost less than anywhere else I have found so I will definitely be a returning customer.

But when I got it back the finger print scanner no longer worked and a month after it was fixed lines were on my screen and the phone became less responsive. They suggested I just replace it again and it was no way I was paying $330 again. No warranty or anything to compensate the fact they didn't fix my screen correctly and blamed the screen lines on a tiny scratch on the screen. Will not be back.
