That being said participants of the challenge should have and are expected to have consistency. Consistency of the weigh in dates (which started every Sunday), consistency of scales used (and operable scales), consistency of the location of the scale, consistency of a leveled floor, consistency of body measurements being taken at the weigh-ins, consistency of weigh-in day of the weeks, consistency of where you can exercise at (be it at The Well or a boutique gym) and classes that are accommodating to all participants. Be cautious of rules being changed during any fitness challenge at The Well. Rules even as small as playing Bingo. Bingo games have never been the whole board it has always been horizontal, vertical or diagonal. In the case when I played it and I assumed I had Bingo I was told my whole board must have been completed to be the winner. This is an example of rules being changed and again as I mentioned earlier even changing rules where you can exercise at in the middle of the challenge. My experience started with a weigh in on the black scale (referred to scale #1) at the entrance/exit of door in the large studio. Two weeks later, my second weigh-in experience was on a different scale (referred to scale #2) at a different location in the studio and was accounted for which was 9 pound decrease. My third weigh in was back to scale #1, the scale that more than half of the participants complained about and no one did anything about it. I knew that I had lost more pounds but the scale said that I had gained in spite of over 12 total inches lost and in spite of other members complaints of the scale's inaccuracies. Oh did I mention the floor isn't leveled? It's on some foamy kind of floor? Needless to say my coach heard my voice and used my scale that I took a picture of from home which showed a total 18 pound decrease since the beginning of the challenge. So this is scale#3. Now we are at my last weigh in. My last weigh in was back on the original scale (scale #1) and in spite of other group members complaints of this scale, we continued to use it for all weigh-ins. Yes I lost 18 pounds according to this scale. But I believe it was a total of 25 or a little more. So first when you pay for anything, your voice must be heard. Secondly, if paying members complain about the scale or anything that is impartial, perhaps the owner should heed to the concerns and change for the clients that are being serviced. It's like giving a test to a class if all of your students are failing or not doing as well as expected, then you as a teacher may want to consider reteaching. There are so many complaints during this challenge and voices were not heard! From days that we were told to weigh in then it was found out that other members were allowed to weigh in on different days. This wasn't a fair challenge and I really believe I wasn't the only person who was misinformed. I am the voice for those who didn't want to speak or did speak and nothing was done about it. Be cautious!

The birthday room is kinda hidden in the back but there's an indoor play set in there that includes a couple slides and a bounce house. You can bring your own food, which is great. But they only let you set up like 10 minutes before and clean up maybe 10 minutes after the time you've booked, our they charged you for the extra time, so make sure your decorations, food, and so on are easy to get up and down. The facility has a basketball court and what I'm sure must be an ice rink at some point of the year, but when we were here in late December a basketball camp was taking place. The facility was clean and has lots of parking, plus a small playground outside the building as well.

In order to activate the jets one has to contend with the lift. It should be set closer to the whirlpool so that it would'nt interfer with people trying to start the jets. While on the subject of jets, a new system is needed because at times I find that it is difficult if not impossible to get the jets going. There is no problem with the other whirlpool, you just press the button and the jets go on for 10 minutes. Other than these two dificulties I would give the center a four rating.

The membership comes with access to a pretty good gym with weight machines, free weights, and several different aerobic machines. The only thing I dont like about the gym is there is very little room for stretching or floor exercises such as planks, pushups, ect. The membership also comes access to a lap pool, hot tub, and sauna. There are locker rooms with lockers and showers, I'm pretty sure you need your own lock. Also, you have access to basketball courts when open gym. They offer a two for one membership in January that works out to like $17 a month each. Cons- as stated before, the gym is sizable but can get a little crowded during peak times. I would prefer more classes such as yoga tied into the gym some how. They do have classes in their bi annual book but I never see anything about it outside of there. You can get a trainer and they say you get one session when you sign up but you rarely see them. As far as the rest of the center, I've only taken one class and we had no issues.

I've been contemplating joining some sort of gym, but I really like to take classes the most. The recplex offers both - and a whole lot more! I stopped here a week ago after checking everything out on line. There are so many fitness classes at different times/days. The hours are great for me and the place is 6 blocks from home. Also, they offer a variety of packages for in and out of district - both very reasonable. I joined!! The recplex is pretty big and fully staffed. Also, it is not very crowded, which I asked about. Upstairs is a walking track and a machine/weight room. All the equipment looks to be state of the art and there is a ton of equipment. The walking track is only 1/16 of a mile, which sucks a bit, but you can always jump on a treadmill. I've taken 2 classes so far - the instructors are great and motivating. Also, there is a large parking lot and bike racks. So, if you are looking to join a gym at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend!
