I've been banking with Tech Cu for years now, and for a long time I loved banking with them. On paper they beat all their competitors, and for awhile they actually beat them too, in things like customer service as well. In recent years however they have gotten worse and worse, to the point where now they are just god awful and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Every few months, almost like clockwork, my ATM card just stops working (even though I have literally thousands of dollars in my account). No reason, just their crazy overactive fraud detection thought that me buying a coffee two cities over (or something similarly stupid) was criminal activity, so rather than call me and say "did you buy a coffee two cities over?" they just deactivate my card. But then today was the crap topping on the crap cake. Once again my card stopped working, so I called the number on the back. There's no voice menu option for "your card just stopped working for no reason", so I picked the "lost or stolen card" option. Not once, not twice, but three times I was transferred somewhere else and then immediately hung up on. And since today is Sunday there's no operator or any other human I can talk to. In other words, only bank with Tech CU if you like being in line at the store and having your card declined (because we all know how fun it is to have five people behind you and not be able to pay for your groceries), with absolutely no way for you you can possibly prevent it. And if it happens on a Sunday... well you better hope you didn't need to spend money at all that day. And if your card gets lost or stolen on a Sunday? Well there's no possible way to report it (you just get hung up on), so I'm guessing you'll be paying for all the fraudulent charges. TLDR; DO NOT sign up with Tech CU: you will regret it. I have not had to call Tech CU and this was the first time. My husband and I had just gotten our tax credit refund for our solar panels and wanted to make sure we were applying it immediately to our loan principle. We were having issues connecting our bank to the app so my husband called the Customer Service number and got Melanie. Let me tell you, working in the Customer Service industry for probably about 30 years, Melanie is the best experience we have ever had. She could've just walked us through the online process, but instead took the time to offer to gather the information needed and submit the payment for us over the phone. We also were unaware of how much we still owed and she graciously offered to find out the exact amount needed (which was a good thing since we were short by about $100) and informed us of such. Although this is probably part of her job, not many customer service agents will "offer" to do things or give information that the customer may not have. Melanie genuinely was attentive and really wanted to help us to make sure we had everything we needed. I have always had incredible service from Tech CU. I have banked there for many years now and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Most recently Timothy T assisted me with a problem I was having. He remembered me from a previous visit, as did another employee. He was very helpful and understanding and assisted me rapidly. I "fired" my previous bank in Milpitas as my checkbook never seemed to balance, no matter how long I spent on it to find my errors. With Tech CU, it always balances to the penny!! I feel very at home at Tech CU. They are very friendly, courteous and aim to please. They have short wait times on personal checks I have deposited (not so with the previous bank) and have an easy (inside but accessible to members) ATM. So if I go in off hours, I feel very safe. They also have many participating Credit Unions all over the US, so I can access my money where ever I go. I would recommend this Credit Union to anyone. read more

I have been with Tech CU for over 20 years and found this institution always helpful in every aspect of banking. I have had loans, money transfers, stop payments, lost checks, bill pay delays, but they have always managed to handle the issue and kept me completely satisfied. I have dealt with many different of the folks there from time to time, but one name (Khatija Begum) I consider to be one of the best among all I have dealt with over the years. I've been with this Credit Union since early 1990s when they were in Sunnyvale and known as Technology Federal Credit Union. When I moved to the Tri Valley in the early 2000s, I was glad they opened up a Dublin Branch at the 580/680 corridor. The staff at Dublin branch has helped me so much in the past to buying a car, refinancing, and even buying a vacation home in Maui. I want to point out the Evelyn K from Dublin branch when out of her way to comfort us through the entire process of buying my house in Maui, so much so that she kept me up to date via email and phone. My husband and I were very pleased with the outstanding service done by Tim Tajonera with our auto loan application. At the very start of my conversation with Tim, I knew that he is an effective and efficient staff of Tech Cu. The cashier of the car dealer really persuaded us to sign up with the auto loan with them and told that they could offer us lower rate interest. However, we affirmed that we had already finalized our auto loan with Tech Cu and would stick to it. He was so sad and we're pressured that they should received the check payment by 8.28.21 We're happy that Tech CU expedited the loan and funded and check was released the following day. Long time member -- I went to TechCU last week looking for a car loan. Edwin, the person who helped me, easily understood what I wanted to do at the dealership and my needs for a loan. I told Edwin how much I had for a downpayment and we came up with a loan payment plan that worked for me to afford the car I wanted. Within twenty minutes, I was out the door approved to buy a car just across the street. Now, I'm riding into the sunset with no worries about how the payments will work -- they even followed up with a phone call to make sure. A nice touch of customer service. A very pleasant experience from beginning to end, starting with the first conversation about how we could easily add my Wife to my Checking and Savings account over a Virtual Banking Branch session. Edwin Asis walked us through the ID submittal process and got to know us as he asked us questions to verify my Wife's identity. I researched online and found that the best option to go for was TechCU based on their services and the no.of branches. This is the best TCU branch in the area. I had a few questions and transactions. I had lost my card and received a new one right away, cancelling my lost card. Luckily no transactions aside from my own had posted. Talked to Garrett about summer vacation and ensuring I contact TCU prior to travelling as I would be using my card across several states. I always prefer to deal with bank inquiries in person and this branch makes it hassle free. Garrett was patient with all my inquiries and ensured all my questions answered. I have been a TCU member for over thirty years. I have done almost all my visits to the Milpitas branch. Over the years I've gotten to know quite a few of the employees and sadly a few a have moved on to other things. I don't get to see them anymore. Currently I am helped by Tim and another gentleman, they know who I am the minute I walk in and what I am there for. My transactions are quick and they have answers for all of my questions.
