I have only seen the outside and pics on the web. But 59 dollars a month is too much. They need to lower the price.

The hours are extremely flexible being open from 4am-12am most days of the week and I really love that they have a big kids club for parents to be able to have childcare during their workouts. All the staff I've interacted with have always been very polite. Now for the not so good. Most hours of the day, this place is crowded. Certain machines that are extremely popular are very hard to get access to which requires me to wait around for the machine I need. I also get approached numerous times by people asking me how many sets I have left or if they can work in with me. There are a lot of people in their late teens/very early 20s that use this gym as a social club. They will utilize the machines together and stay on for over 30 minutes not allowing other members to have a turn. A lot of people do not wipe their equipment and there seems to be no signage or enforcement to encourage people to do so. I have also noticed that weights don't get put back in the correct spaces or at all in some cases with a few wobbly weight benches and divots in the floors next to the weight racks that you can easily trip in. I love the recovery room and red light therapy but I really wish that yoga was a part of the regular membership instead of requiring an upgrade. The locker room doesn't provide hair dryers, towels or any hygienic items as other gyms do. I'm continuing to use Vasa as of now, but I'm keeping my options open for other gyms in the area that would be less crowded.

I rode my bike across the state of Iowa in a recreational bike ride now for the past two years and have trained for and completed multiple Chicago marathons. I exercise at the local YMCA 3-4 times a week and go to hot yoga classes at least three times a week in addition to running and biking every chance I get....With all that said, NONE of this prepared me for what I experienced when I met Brian and walked into Techny Fitness! I was naively skeptical that Brian could teach this aging old dog new tricks. But Brian is a fitness guru and has showed me exercises I never knew existed. I've worked muscles I never knew I had. After five sessions at Techny Fitness I feel like I've accomplished more than five months solo at the YMCA. He's always got a new piece of equipment to show me or a new routine that completely blows my mind and exhausts my body. Brian has over ten years experience as a personal trainer, and has an endless wealth of knowledge when it comes the human anatomy, diet and of course training the body. The facility is located in a racket ball court with forty foot ceilings in a cool, dry basement. Well lit, always clean, perfect conditions for a big dude like myself who sweats constantly during rigorous workouts. I love his circuit style of training. He isolates muscles at times and completely mixes it up other times. He has taught me the key to seeing results is confusing the body and not letting it get used to a routine of always doing the same things. He trains men and woman ten years younger than me and also folks who are 10-20 years older than me. Each person is different and I see that he takes the time to understand each individuals goals and caters the exercise routine accordingly. If you're looking for real results and are willing to put in the effort, this is your one stop gym! Thank you, Brian!

I visited Midtown before as a prospective member so I know that guests can only enter a limited number of times. We went upstairs past the cardio machines (they are plentiful) and the weight area to the cafe. There are tables and booths that overlook the outdoor pool area (closed for season). It wasn't a large brunch but we had some made-to-order omelets, bacon/sausage and fruit. There was also some potatoes and pastry. When I sat down to eat I received a text from Midtown about a membership. The brunch was bottomless although one omelet was enough for me. I also had two emails from Midtown when I got home, one a waiver of liability and the other a membership offer. I didn't join as a member on my previous visit and I am not going to join now. I already have a Pilates membership that includes three studios with classes from 6am-8pm. Midtown has a Pilates studio but none of the class times work for me. They also have some reformers in the middle of the cardio area reserved for private lessons. If I have a private lesson I would prefer to be in a secluded area, not in the middle for all to see. The facility has many machines, a boxing area, a cycling studio, a theatre, a spa, a cafe, courts, pool, etc and this is a great place for those who need this. There are families who spend the morning at lessons, classes, workouts, then join up in the cafe. This is great for those who are looking for this but it doesn't fit my needs right now.

Almost 3 years ago, I was recommended by a friend of mine to check out FIT Boutique and immediately decided to purchase a ten-session package - the prices are very fair. The gym was a new environment for me; there was so much to learn, and I was just a beginner. The owner, Jim, made me feel comfortable and welcomed whenever I stepped foot in FIT Boutique, answering any questions I had regarding exercise. As an all-around very friendly and knowledgeable guy, Jim really motivated me to continue pursuing strength and good health for years to come! My goals when signing up included building muscle, endurance, and strength. My trainer, Shane, instituted growth in me through a vast amount of exercises that helped me reach my goals, and after just the first 2 sessions I was beginning to see the results I wanted. Throughout the process, he motivated me to push myself, and also made sure I felt good after each workout. Needless to say, this was a life-changing period of time for me as I gained skills, perfected form, and I continue to learn exercises. I definitely recommend you check out FIT Boutique!

After my first session, the first time working out in way too long, it was difficult pressing the button on my garage door opener. Jim, the owner and my trainer has been cool and flexible with my schedule and has provided just the right amount of motivation without making things unpleasant. The price is a bit expensive, but you are paying for good equipment in a convenient location, and one-on-one time with a professional. When I am there, the gym is not crowded and the music has been good. Try it out - as far as I know, the $100 for 8 1 hour personal training sessions is still going.

The teachers here are great and my children look forward to going to class every week…read more That is the ONLY reason we continue to attend classes here. The management of the facility is terrible for three main reasons: 1. Parking is a huge problem but the restriction on the front door makes the situation worse. There is a requirement to park behind the building and use the back door. In fact, there are threats posted inside the facility that if you are caught using the front door, your child will be dropped from the program. The problem is that there isn't nearly enough parking in the back of the building to accommodate all students. So most parents have to park on the street and walk down either side of the building. The problem is that there are always cars circling the building trying to find that parking in the back, so it's important to make sure your kids are pressed against the side of the building so they aren't hit by a car. I dread coming here in the winter when it gets dark earlier because I worry about the safety of kids arriving and departing from class. It's unclear why only employees are allowed to use the front door. It would seem smarter to relocate the reception desk to the front of the building and allow paying customers to come in that way safely. 2. The place is not very clean and lacks basic services like modern restrooms and working vending machines. So make sure your kids pee at home first and if you forget to bring a water bottle - too bad, you're heading to the gas station down the street. 3. It's too difficult for them to answer the phone. The recorded answer doesn't even indicate the company name and the voicemail box is always full. I found this out when I called to ask if the classes were taking place on a major Jewish holiday. Tried several times over the day and no answer. Yet when I arrived, the receptionist was calmly sitting there playing on her own phone because...priorities.
