Run the other direction bro!…read more This was our third trip to Tech Bros in two months. We were new customers when we first came in for a dead battery. The second trip was 29 days later, when that battery failed--still under warranty. We picked it up the same day, and while it powered on, the screen soon turned green at home. We returned again today for a third attempt to fix what was clearly caused during their repair. At checkout, they framed it like they were doing the right thing and "taking care of it" for us. But when we got in the car and turned the phone on, a new white flashing light started going off. This wasn't just unresolved--it was a final slap in the face. In retrospect, each time we went to Tech Bros, we experienced more damage. The way this was handled was completely unprofessional and dismissive. When we insisted that they fix the damage, they threatened to post our texts online like transparency would somehow make us look like the bad guys. Classic deflection tactic - trying to intimidate and discredit us because they know they've mishandled this, and we're holding them accountable. They broke my daughter's iPhone and then sent us a bill for an extra $150 to fix it. Save yourself the grief and go to a reputable company. Buyer Beware!!!

Home Theater A/V Receiver August 2026…read more A proximal lightning strike surged my expensive Onkyo receiver. Bad luck. After calling around, though, I was very lucky to find Thomas's Gadgets to get it repaired. I dropped off the receiver at Thomas's and the issue was diagnosed and the part was ordered before I even got a call back from some of the other shops. The repair was completed and I had it back in only seven working days. They also worked on my keyless door openers that had been damaged by leaking batteries. These repairs saved me a lot of money, time and shipping delays. And I saw other items in their shop for repair including large flat screens and smaller electronics, too. Thomas's is located only about 1.5 miles from interstate 4 and I was asking myself how far I would drive to get work done there. My answer was at LEAST 50 miles. Probably farther. Communications about my repair issues were complete, timely and included photos of the problem. The estimated price range for repair was given and the final price was right in the middle of the range. Do not be put off by the storefront. As a former business owner I know that the way to keep prices low is to keep down overhead expenses. The savings are passed along to the customer at Thomas's. And do not let the shop's name fool you. This is a serious business that can solve serious electronic problems. At least one of the technicians has education and training in avionic electronics. If he can do repair work on a Cessna, he can probably solve your problem. I received a level of professionalism, efficiency and honesty from Thomas's Gadgets, Inc. that I have not experienced for a very long time, if ever.

If I had a question, I was either "helped" with an annoyed monotone or a stifled laugh because... I don't know, I guess not knowing the name of certain cables and attachments makes me a plebeian fool? I avoided coming to this place like the plague for the longest time, but decided to return for curiosity's sake after learning that the previous staff had been replaced. Ever since the place changed owners, I can tell that they've had them focusing on making a more pleasant customer service experience. The weekend staff is so friendly and full of energy (I'm talking about YOU, Daniel), the shelves are always full and neat (except for the game guides. Most are well-used, so they unfortunately look like a frayed mess), and their selection is so wide, they even have some room for collectible goodies. The prices are a little rough, but they do try their best to price below GameStop for newer titles. I thought the retro games were pretty costly, but honestly, it's usually close to the cost as if I were to get them on eBay and include shipping. Can't really fault them for that if they're trying to make a profit. If there's anything close to negative I have to say, it's probably that the place is getting a little too popular again? Because there are so many people coming in, having only two people running front desk at a time leaves the risk of customers waiting a long time for a simple transaction, since they also handle repairs and the like. Maybe have someone who doesn't run a register that goes around answering questions? Not sure, but I do get sad when I see somebody who has been waiting in line just sigh and walk off because front desk is still working on testing a traded-in console. I wish them the best and hope they grow enough to hire more staff!
