I took my two children for dental check up appointments and fillings. It was my daughters first dental appointment and the staff made her feel so comfortable. My daughter didn't even fear the unknown because they explained everything and let her know she was doing a good job. My son on the other hand has had dental work before when he was little and has hated the dentist ever since. The dentist made him feel at ease and let my son know that everything was going to be fine. My son got a couple of fillings and the dentist was quick and gentle. Teddy Bear Dental has a great waiting room, office and team of staff. I've been taking my 5 year old there for 2 years now and we've always had a great experience. The staff is friendly and really engage with my son. It's nice that they speak directly to him and make him feel important and like HE matters, not just talking to mom all the time. They are good at keeping the time of your appointment, so you don't have to wait for long in the waiting room or on the chair. Handy with children! We drive a little ways to get there, but it's worth it! OH! And I get text messages to confirm my appointment, so I can respond that way! SOOO convenient! Love it! read more

Gave this business multiple chances. Their front desk is utterly incompetent when it comes to billing. I paid over 1k to fix/take out a baby tooth. My wife is an insurance broker for over 20 years. Came in today during school hours with my son and they spent a half hour on the phone and said services wouldn't be covered...not to mention they double booked the appt so we were waiting anyways. As people they seem very nice. As a business, incompetent and overpriced are the key words I would use. Update- the twice "fixed" baby tooth they crowned broke/fell out again! We are in home quarantine for a month now...the crown fell out while eating boneless chicken and veggie spring rolls...can't express the disgust I feel in words. 2nd update- I am upgrading my review purely bc of dr kim. He is very professional and contacted us last night and was able to take out the tooth for my son today. I would still recommend knowing exactly how your dental insurance works before going there. The billing Dept needs training 100%. But Dr. Kim I believe is a very good dentist and good with kids. read more

That was just the first visit, then they only half worked on my daughter, the doctor stopped midway and left the tooth he was working on because my daughter had tears running down her eyes, but she was sitting and allowing him to work. I have been going here since my now 7 year old was one. She loves it! Now we are taking our 3 year old too and she loves Teddy Bear Dental even more. The staff is very friendly and sweet. I love it that they communicate through text as well. It makes my life so simple. With three kids I don't have time to waste. I never have to wait more than 10-15 minutes to be called inside. The only thing I would like for them to work on is taking more time for the cleaning. It's always a hit and miss. Depending on the dental assistant my daughters might get extra minutes or might not. Sometimes we go and the dental asst spends 10-15 minutes on my daughter's cleaning. Sometimes they spend 5. I like for my girls to feel like they're important not just another number. When my son was two he fell and chipped his tooth. I called 25 Pediatric Dentists to see if they could do anything about it and every one of them said no, not a chance. I was told to wait until he was 5-7 years old to lose the tooth. We even set appointments with two of them and my son screamed and had a pretty traumatic experience at both offices. Then I called Teddy Bear Dental and Daggie assured me that kids love coming to their office, however I was still skeptical from my previous experiences. I waited another 6-8 months before finally deciding to come in and give it a shot. When I called again, Daggie remembered who I was and encouraged me to come in and have Dr. Kim look at him. She was absolutely right. Dr. Kim was so kind and gentle with my son, he happily sat the the chair calm and quietly. Daniel assisted and took the extra time and care to make my son feel at ease and confident. (the TV helped a lot too!) At our follow up appointment, Dr. Kim and Daniel repaired my son's chipped tooth and it looks amazing!!! I am so thankful for this office for providing such care, and excellent service to their patients. I couldn't have asked for a better Pediatric Dentist and am forever grateful for Dr. Kim and his wonderful staff. We have been going to Dr. Kim in SJC for almost 6 years now! My girls, ages 5 and 7, LOVE going to the dentist even though my 7 year old has has some major dental procedures in the past when she was much younger. I believe that this is due largely in part to Dr. Kim and his staff who work extremely well with young children, making them feel comfortable and safe while in their care. Dr. Kim is also great at explaining to parents, everything that is happening with their child's teeth. I really do not know why other parents have been having a problem with Dr. Ted and his team. Our twins having been coming here since they were 3 years old and now they are almost 7. My son has had a cavity since he was two. Dr. Ted was the only dentist that offered an alternative treatment to gassing, drilling an permanently traumatizing my son who was barely 3 at the time. They are nothing but courteous and accommodating. For those that have had insurance issues, i would suggest you check with your own insurance before coming here. We drive from Brea to Irvine just to see this dentist and i do not see that changing until the kids are grown. His credentials are impeccable and this is not the cheapest dentist but in my opinion he is worth money. read more
