After visiting several offices in Irvine, I realized how important it was to me that my son not only received excellent dental care, but also had a positive experience without developing fear or anxiety around going to the dentist. From our very first consultation, I was incredibly impressed with the entire team. Everyone was kind, patient, and genuinely seemed to care about their patients. What had been a traumatic experience for my son at another pediatric dentist turned into a completely enjoyable experience here. They were extremely understanding of his needs, especially since he is sensitive to the idea of the gas mask. They even let him take home a bubblegum-scented mask ahead of time so he could get comfortable with it before his appointment. That small gesture made a huge difference. Both of his cavities were treated so smoothly, and the doctor was incredible. Working with a six-year-old in a dental chair while performing difficult procedures takes a tremendous amount of patience and skill, and they knew exactly how to make Noah feel comfortable throughout the entire process. My biggest takeaway is that Irvine Children's Dentistry completely changed my perception of what pediatric dentistry should be. They have set a new standard for what I believe every pediatric dental office should strive to provide. Dr. Lani Chang is super professional, knowledgeable, respectful, and dedicated! I couldn't be with my child at the first dental appointment, and she took time out of her busy schedule to call me late in the day when most folks would have wanted to just go home. She took time to explain things clearly, didn't seem to rushed in her responses despite it being late in the day, and was a close, great listener. Dr. Lani also explained to me that she found emerging cavities on x-rays that were apparently already present on outside previous dental clinic x-rays, but the previous dentist never mentioned anything abnormal to me, so I appreciate Dr. Lani's attention to detail and thoroughness. Dr. Lani's office staff were also all very courteous, effective, and appropriately efficient in all my phone calls thus far. He was so kind, informing my son step by step, with numbing, describing how things might feel, like a little pressure for instance. My son felt understanding and ready.
