Our experience was very disappointing from start to finish. When we arrived, there were only three occupied tables, so the restaurant wasn't busy. Despite that, it took over 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. Once our drinks finally arrived, the waitress accidentally tipped a glass of ice water from her tray, spilling it all over the floor and down my leg. The salad bar was also disappointing. The lettuce was brown and sitting in excess water, with pieces floating in it. Many of the bar items were empty, leaving mostly juices available. For our meals, several issues continued. Another couple in our party ordered ribeyes, and they were extremely thin--more like sandwich steaks than ribeyes. One of the sweet potatoes tasted sour, and the mac and cheese for their young son took a very long time to come out. My husband ordered a hamburger cooked medium well, but it arrived very overcooked and dark. His serving of fries was noticeably smaller than another guest's side order of fries, and nearly half of his plate was empty. The biggest issue was my meal. Everyone else at the table was halfway finished eating before my food arrived. I ordered the marinated chicken with a loaded baked potato. The chicken was raw and bloody inside, so I sent it back. The waitress offered to bring my baked potato while the chicken was being remade. When I cut into the potato, one entire end was black and rotten. At that point, I showed it to the waitress, canceled my meal, and simply requested a side of fries instead. While we were there, another family was also having multiple issues. Their card had apparently been run incorrectly, requiring refunds and additional charges, and they were still waiting on food they had asked to have boxed to go. The woman eventually became so frustrated that she opened the kitchen door and told the staff she had been there for three hours and just wanted everything corrected so they could leave. I understand that every restaurant can have an off day... However, the number of service, food quality, and kitchen issues we witnessed--not only with our table but with others as well--made this one of the worst dining experiences we've had. I hope management addresses these problems because there is a lot of room for improvement. read more

My visit to Ted's this time, showed marked improvement from four months age. First, I ordered a Ribeye steak meal and here is my opinion of Food, Service, and Ambience. The food was good. The salad bar was complete, well maintained, and attractive. The lettuce was crisp, onions were sliced, and tomatoes were firm. Even the dressings were properly stirred and containers were cleaned of any spills. Nice! The Ribeye was cooked to perfection and had been properly seasoned. The baked potato was served pre-split, yet was siping hot. Even the Texas Toast was perfectly prepared and served hot. A big improvement from last trip! Bravo! The server was polite, yet very busy. When I arrived, she appeared to be the only one on duty. About 15 minutes after 12 noon, a second server appeared and seemed to add some much needed help. Ambiance had improved. Although furnishings were the same, everything had been deep-cleaned, from floor to ceiling. Nice job! I'll be back! read more

I don't know what's happened to Ted's but we'll never be back. This is the tiny piece of chicken they served my wife. We waited 45 minutes for this "bread sandwich" with a taste of Chicken. The manager was rude but kind enough to give us a $1.42 discount. We noticed several tables leave before their food came. Wish we had. I cannot stress enough to steer clear of this place. There's a Wendy's a 1/4 mile away that will offer better service and 3-times the chicken for a lesser price. read more

This was my first trip to this restaurant as I am new to the area. I would not recommend eating a steak here. I ordered the 10 oz Ribeye and received a breakfast steak! extremely thin and of course not rare as ordered because it would be impossible to get a steak that thin rare. Wasn't horrible just not matching what was recommended to me. First impression walking in was there were dirty tables everywhere. Waitress was robotic and not personable. I think the handheld device she used to take our order is the cause of that. The atmosphere was fair ... nothing to write home about. Same with the steak ... ordered ribeye med rare came out rare ... didn't bother me too much. The lady wat recommended this place to me raved about the sautéed mushrooms and again I was just not impressed. My wife got the blue burger which she said was very good. Just a bad cut of me. I could not chew the meat. It was very tough. It was a terrible experience

So I don't even know where to begin, my wife and I wanted to order fillet minion and we were told that they don't have any or prime rib, don't forget this is a Steak House, so we order hamburgers and steak fries and I had a side of coleslaw. Well the hamburgers were something horrible, as sad as it sounds McDonald's has better hamburgers for one third of the price, the charge for every single topping, so by the time you get a cheese burger you are out of $13,00, totally not worth it, the steak fries were warm on the outside and frozen on the inside, the coleslaw was old and the portion was very small even though they've charged extra. This place is horrible, extremely over priced and very poor service, I think napkins must be very expensive because they give you one and you better make it last. Overpriced, bad service, horrible food. Never again. I hate Macdonald's but next time McDonald's you will definitely get my business. read more

We had my husband's club Christmas party here tonight. It was a party of around 20 people. We were put in a small room in the back while one side of the restaurant was completely empty and the other side only had 2 people at a table. The manager was sitting at a booth by the door and the hostess was standing by the door. I only saw one waiter and that was the one waiting on our party. They were out of filet's and lobster tails. My MIL ordered a ribeye medium and it come out rare. Very rare. The food was warm. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of it being a steakhouse and being out of filet's and lobster tails. The last time a few people with our party ate there they were also out of filet's. The restrooms were out of toilet paper. The waiter was amazing! read more

Ted's is a little gem in a very small town. Tucked away in the back of a half-empty strip mall, it's difficult to find but is worth a look. The food here won't change your life but it's a tasty way to fill up a hungry belly. This adorable little restaurant has a homey, country feel. The service was top notch and super friendly. The cute homemade wine bottle decor was a nice touch. The best thing about Ted's is their salad bar. It's very small and limited but the choices they have make a great salad. I'm not a picky salad eater but when a salad bar has lettuce, cheese and bacon, that's all it takes to make me happy. You can add a trip to the salad bar for around $4 but it comes with some meals. While I loved the service and hospitality, the food was just so / so. I was taken aback by the prices -- they are really high for what you get. The menu has steakhouse prices but the quality is more along the lines of Denny's than a fine steakhouse. A reality check on the menu is needed. I opted for the smothered hamburger steak (basically an open faced cheeseburger sans bun for you Yankees who don't speak Southern) and it was just "meh." The charcoal flavor was fantastic, but the meat quality was sorely lacking. The rectangle (?!?!) beef patty reminded me of something out of a cafeteria. The fake Kraft singles cheese on top didn't help, nor did the paltry smattering of onions and the canned gravy. Is it too much to ask that, for an $11 price tag, I could get a fresh, handmade patty with real cheese on top? I opted for green beans as my side and this is where things really got strange -- I was served these thawed green beans that had been grilled on a grill. No discernable seasoning or anything, just some well placed grill marks. Not bad, just weird. The big slab of over-buttered Texas toast was the best part of the meal (aside from the salad bar). The weirdest thing happened when I asked for some mustard. They don't have mustard, only honey mustard. Yes, a steakhouse serving burgers doesn't have regular mustard! I don't want to come off as sounding super harsh about this place, it was fine especially for the area. It's not horrible food -- it's edible and everything has a very nice charcoal flavor to it. I am a local and very picky about my food and the service. Myself and a large group of friends ate here at Ted's tonight to hold a meeting. The place was packed... and for very good reason. We were fortunate enough to be seated within five minutes in the room we had reserved in the back. Our waitress, Caelyn was a doll and was great about handling our crowd. Mr. Ted, the owner, came in to check on us a couple times to make sure everything was okay even before our food arrived. ..this is with the restaurant being packed. Once the food arrived, I was very pleased. My chicken was cooked perfectly. I'd asked for it to be cooked really brown and they delivered that perfectly without the chicken being dry. I had a side of a sweet potato as well as an extra side of broccoli. The sides were also delish. Something about their sweet potatoes are always so good. I have a sweet tooth so I have to always ask for extra cinnamon sugar though. Overall, great atmosphere and service. Everyone had a great time and plan on bringing the crew back again! read more

My colleague and I came here for lunch one day while working in Clinton. We wanted some good salad options and didn't have many choices so we ended up at Ted's. Its located in an old strip mall and has old decor. The host was super friendly and we were sat immediately. The menu is pretty basic for any small town steak house, kind of dated. We both ordered the grilled shrimp salad. The waitress brought out a pint sized portion for each of us of bleu cheese- disgusting. People in small towns smother their food with the most unhealthy portions of nasty-ness! The salads came with bleu cheese crumbles, french onion straws, and bacon. It was delish! Could've had more lettuce, but what can you expect when trying to eat healthy in a small town. I'd come again for the salad. read more

Have done take out twice in the last couple months, both times missed up. The first time the burgers were served on Texas toast and then today ordered a burger with bleu cheese got home and called to tell them there was not bleu cheese on it. They said they would give me a discount on next time but then called me back 5 minutes later and basically called me a liar and told me she spoke to her staff and they said they put it on there. It was not on there and my husband was my witness, don't worry about that discount I won't be back to the sub par treatment of customers from a sub par restaurant. read more

We had a large group of business associates eating at the restaurant for a casual get together. The restaurant was well designed and maintained. Everyone in our group seemed to be very pleased with the salad bar and the items they ordered from the grill. We were half and half on those who ordered chicken and steak. The only negative thing I have to say about the restaurant or dining experience is their appeared to be an employee in the kitchen area and/or waitress could be heard coughing uncontrollably from the kitchen area by our group. Several of us commented that they hoped he or she was not preparing our food. This restaurant has just celebrated its 1st anniversary and I hope they have many more to come. Inside it's tastefully decorated with soft lighting that makes it feel warm and inviting. We were greeted like old friends the minute we walked in even though we'd never been there. The salad bar was small, but plenty big enough for dinner salads. It was very fresh, clean and appetizing. The Romaine lettuce a nice surprise, you never see anything other than Iceberg at the other salad bars in town. The only drawback was the lack of a vinaigrette based dressing. My husband ordered hamburger steak smothered in mushrooms with a baked potato and I, the New York Strip-rare with sweet potato. You could cut the hamburger steak with a fork and my steak was absolutely, perfectly rare. William, our server was the best. Personable and informative, he knew all the menu items without hesitation and recommended a killer pineapple cake for dessert. if you like that char-grilled taste that Ted's is suppose to offer, your best bet is to go to Burger King. That way your sure to get that great taste and cooked food!! Ask for the table to be cleanEd, the young lady Left the table full of water, and laid the silverware which was covered in a napkin right on the table. I proceeded to wipe the table dry myself. So we sat and waitEd to be served, which shouldn't have been a long wait, the restaurant was almost empty. The waitress about 17, engaged, and her fiancé was next in line for his family metal building business, which I learned this from the conversation she was having with another couple that had already finished eating. Yep we were still waiting! Ok so she finally came over, got our order, we waited about 30 minutes for the food. Not to bad, I was in great company. The Restaurant was starting to fill up at this time. My husband cut into his cheese burger steak, and it was completely raw on the inside. Waited for the waitress to come by, about 3 minutes later he spotted her and motioned for her to come over, immediately she took it. I offered him some of my food, but he declined the offer, so he watched me eat, then finally his food came back out. Then I watched him eat his plate, which wasn't prepared how he asked it to be. We went to eat together, but that didn't. The manager never came out, after my husband asked was a manager there. The waitress apologized and the cook. This was one of the worst experiences we've had there. we have been there many time with work/church events, but never again. Mr. Ted himself was contacted, and he felt as if the service was fine. Costumer is what help your business grow, and if you don't care about pleasing your costumers, I will take my money elsewhere. Visited this establishment this evening and ordered the barbecue chicken, sweet potatoe and broccoli. The first red flag is the hostess was not welcoming. Upon entry we were not greeted we were rudely asked, three? The chicken was so tough and chewy I struggled to cut it and it was not edible. This is after waiting over 30 minutes for the food. By the way, I did not complain about the food being cold however I did tell the waitress the chicken was not edible. I asking if I could exchange for the salmon but she was unsure of how long it would take I decided against it. When the check came I noticed I was still charged for the chicken even though it was clearly all there and uneaten. I waved for the waitress who seemed unaware of how to handle the situations. After coming back after she had to talk to "someone" she explained the best "they" could do was 1/2 off just the chicken. In other cases, if I ever had issues with the food, the restuarant would not only apologize but be VERY accommodating. I've been to busier, expensive and many inexpensive restaurants in other cities where the manger would even come by to try to solve the issue. It is evident that this restaurant does not understand how to accommodate customers who recieve food that is under cooked. It is also evident that management does not care if customers return. Medium rare ribeye cooked well-done. Green beans were over cooked & barely warm. To top off our dining experience my husband found not one, but TWO flys in his coffee. He asked for a manager and she was very unconcerned. She had the nerve to say "well, the flys weren't in the coffee when she (the waitress) poured it cuz I asked her". I was so stunned by that stupid response I couldn't even speak. She was without a doubt the rudest "manager" I've ever had the displeasure to interact with. We will never return. read more

I question the earlier review because my wife and I eat there often. The quality of food has always been good. Ted is typically there and he constantly asks his customers about the food and service. I have taken out of town friends and relatives there and they have raved about the steaks and hamburger steaks. My wife always orders all of the toppings on her hamburger steak--sautéed onions and mushrooms along with the gravy. She is one that enjoys dipping her french fries in gravy rather than ketchup. Dipping or sopping is not something you do in canned gravy. Once I said something about the sweet potatoes because I got one that was not quite as sweet as I had been getting. Ted knew what day that I was talking about. He told me that he always ordered from a local company but on that he ran short and had to borrow some from another restaurant. He said that he wouldn't do that again. Sweet potatoes are extremely temperamental about storage and curing. Their starches immediately start turning to sugar as they are harvested. They are kept at one temperature to heal the harvest wounds then changed to another temperature for curing. They must be stored a minimum of two weeks before they are ready to be cooked. If cooked before a few weeks storage or are stored at the wrong temperatures them they simply won't be sweet and a starchy sweet potato is not good. The idea that Ted would put this much energy into one dish and shortchange others does not make sense. read more

This is my second time at this steakhouse. I went just after it opened because I had heard good things about it, I attempted to order a full rack of ribs then, was told that they were out. I waited nearly a full year to give them a second chance to make me a fan, ordered the full rack of ribs and was told once again after my order was carried to the kitchen and I was already fixing what turned out to be a nice salad they were out of ribs.... This was less than half way through a dinner service. maybe meat at a steakhouse should not be beyond the menus expectations perhaps. Figure frankly next time I will make the extra drive to Fayetteville suspect other steakhouses there will have meat. read more
