I hired Welzig once, and a CMS technician showed up to do the service. He did the work quickly and replaced my humidifier contactor pad for free, but then the selling started. Replace my perfectly good Honeywell thermostat with a smart controller ($500+) that uses forecasts from the internet instead of the house temperature to decide when to run. Clean the ducts for $1,000 (do they know about the ValPak $299 company?). Add a water alarm device for $500 (I already have one from a multipack I got at Costco for $20). Literally $10k in recommended "improvements", and they really really wanted me to sign up for a service membership. Sure I get my tune ups, but also a plumbing and electrical consult I don't need each year. I have no confidence whatsoever they wouldn't intentionally damage or fail to service my unit in order to get me to buy a new one. I'm a redneck engineer from the South. I'm used to chainsawing my way out of the neighborhood after hurricanes, building blast furnaces using old lawnmowers, and cobbling together whatever I'm wanting to make (chicken coops, rabbit hutches, fences, you name it) out of whatever scraps are laying around or free on Craigslist. I'm scrappier and more miserly than most, but for those like me who are inclined to open their condenser when it stops running instead of calling an HVAC company to spend $250 on diagnostics, this is not the company for you anymore.

I made a request on Yelp for help on a Saturday and Brent at B-Line replied right away. He came on Monday and made recommendations and quoted a price for the work. He fixed the shower and replaced our 40 year old toilet with a modern water efficient Toto for a very reasonable price. He was friendly, professional, respectful and did a great job. We are very pleased with the work he did and will definitely call him again with any more plumbing problems.

I reached out Brent and he stayed in great contact about when he could come out. When he did arrive, he did a quick check and let me know what was needed and how much it would cost - he was very transparent and did not try to upsell me on anything, or get me to do anything else that wasn't really needed. I like knowing they have our house history, they have established a relationship with me over the years and I know that when they offer me options its not to just get all they can - there is a purposeful reason. The shower head was only a few months old so I don't know why they did that. (It was our rental and we weren't there when they did it) . They rebuilt the existing diverter by installing one rubber washer. The water pressure was still very low- the problem wasn't fixed! So we had them back to correct it 3 weeks later , at hopefully no charge. Nope. They charged us $75 and said we needed an entire new unit- that the piece that the diverter fit into or sat against was worn out. Estimate for the part was $700- something! Plus 3-4 hours labor at $100+ an hour. We bought the new assembly for $170 and it took all of 15 minutes MAYBE to do it ourselves- to shut the water off and 3 bolts.

One plumber wasn't available for 10 days. Another said they didn't do drain clearing - especially where septic tanks are involved. Not DrainAway. Not only do they advertise SAME DAY in most instances, they were courteous on the phone, understood my issue, explored it a bit. Then, checked the schedule and had a person who could come up later in the day. That person called ahead to tell me about when they'd be here (within the window I was quoted), listened to me walk through the situation, diagnosed the situation, and fixed the issue. All within 45 minutes. The cherry on top was the price -- very reasonable! So, high value, great customer service, responsiveness, effectiveness. Hard to beat that.
