As someone who is very picky on who gets to touch my hair, I knew from the moment I got in contact with Sydney that I can fully trust her! I have previously gotten my hair done by the same lady for 8 years but I wanted a different style from someone who has more experience with newer styles. She was recommended to me by a friend but as I learn, Teezerz have been trusted by many of my coworkers as well. Sydney and everyone else seem like they are experienced with any and every color/hair style. From my experience, Sydney makes sure to give you the best advice for your hair but also gives you exactly what you asked her for which I appreciate since I know a lot of stylists from other salons like to do whatever they want. I had the pleasure of visiting Teezerz this past Friday. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The customer service was awesome. I was offered water and coffee multiple times which was very nice. I got my hair done by Lisa, who is amazing. She was very informative with my hair dying process. She also told me how to treat my hair at home. I got a single process dye to match my roots, a hair cut, and blow dry. The salon was very clean and organized. The salon uses Redken products. After a poorly done balayage at another salon 3 weeks prior, I decided to make an appointment with Teezerz. Being a previous Bayonne worker, I remember colleagues speak well about Teezerz and my husband's female coworkers as well. From the picture, you can see that my old "balayage" was painted way too straight like regular highlights, far away from my roots, and not blended seamlessly. My roots were also too dark. If you want to sit and wait for 2+ hours while other customers get preferential treatment and you are less important, by all means go here. Those who get preferential treatment will have a nice job and perfect hair, while those who are considered an inconvenience will get a rushed job so the next person after them can get full attention. It's funny how if a customer is late, there is a fee but if they are late with you, there is no discount. We all pay for the service (and it's not cheap). On top of the long wait, I had to hear a sarcastic remark. Was that so I would give a 20% tip instead of 10%? Maybe the tip would be higher if the full service was there. So after the fact I paid 300$ just for my hair to be pink this is not my problem my hair didn't come out the way it was suppose to because you know "customers come first" and most importantly I don't mind the price if my hair came out the way I needed.. but she brought someone along the way to try and tell me it's the way my hair is and it's nice it's not what I asked for!!!! I went in to get a hair cut a for the first time at this salon and Klaudia was the hair dresser that helped me. She was sweet, knowledgeable, and listened to EXACTLY what I wanted. She cut my long hair into layers and blew it out perfectly. The atmosphere was awesome and the other employees working there were nice, too. The place is very chic and clean, which is always really important for me, regardless of what type of establishment I'm visiting. They charged me $52 for a hair cut, but it was totally worth it. I'm a big believer in "you get what you pay for". I'm looking forward to going back to have my balayage done. read more

So I really thought about if I wanted to leave a review or not, but I came to a conclusion that I dont want anyone to go through what happened to me! So about 2 weeks ago I went to my appt that I had with Klaudia for me to get my balyage done, I was in the salon from 11:00am to about 5:00 pm. Everything was going good well atleast I though it was until she tells me basically that she didnt know what went wrong. She made it seem like it wasnt that bad! So basically my hair burned off from the bleach! I have never bleached my hair other than some highlights but that was already atleast 5 years ago so there were no more highlights on my hair. I did have my hair a reddish burghundy color which she said will not be a problem when I had my consultation with her a week prior! Elegance and Competence. From the moment I made my appointment with Susan, I was impressed with how thorough and professional the staff were. When I arrived for my haircut, I was first given a tour of the salon. I was delighted to see the coffee bar as well as the well lit decor and overall tasteful layout of this place. Came for a trim and blow out. They took me right away to get my hair washed. The women washing my hair was very friendly and perky! After washing my hair she did a little quick massage on my scalp that felt nice. I then went to my stylist who did exactly what I wanted. We didn't chat much (which I like cause I usually close my eyes and relax) but she was very nice when we spoke. She blew my hair out perfectly straight with no flat iron which impressed me!! The prices are based on the experience level of the stylist so just confirm the price before you go in when making the appointment. Five star treatment all the way around. Let me start by saying that I tend to just go get a quick trim at a place like Supercuts instead of going to a "real" salon. I started going to a "real" salon last April, but have since moved to Bayonne and that one was in Belmar. Anyway-- I got a very quick appointment, next day. This is terrible, but I don't remember the girls name that did my hair. However, she had beautiful hair and I thought...that is a good sign. Right before my appointment I fell down my stairs (in a hurry to get into my car), while 8.5 months pregnant...busted up my knees, shins and hands pretty bad. But I was still determined to get my hair done. So I phoned them, told them I'd be there as soon as I can. When I walked in, the girl at the front greeted me (very sweet), and then I asked her for some bandaids, the girl from the front was so sweet, she helped clean me up, patched me up and sent me to meet the stylist. We talked about what I wanted. I had before looked at the prices on-line as Bayonne has only this option that I was consider to get my hair done. I knew the prices were going to be competitive with surrounding areas since we're so close the NYC, but I was hoping to keep it under 200.00 (including tip). But I have to remember I'm no longer in Michigan, or California...so the price that I thought was going to be around 150, ended up being 225.00 by the time my hair was highlighted/low lights, and then a trim and a deep condition it was 225.00 with out product or tip for the both stylist and assistant. I was a little shocked. But my hair did look beautiful. I will be returning...but I will try to stretch the time in between appointments. Worst experience at a hair salon ever! This salon is over rated and over priced. Feels like a sorority for a specific type of woman. My first time being there as a late Mother's Day gift and honestly I would have rather gotten a gift card for super cuts. My balyage turned out to be two different hair tones. The stylist complained just about everything from never washing hair to the fact that my hair color didn't come out a certain way to the process and timing. I felt offended by certain remarks as well. I get it my hair was what they consider virgin so I wasn't expecting miracles but this woman's demeanor just ruined my day. From the beginning, she was very aggressive/rough when brushing my hair. Not to mention almost $300 and then wanting to charge another fee because it's not the color or tone in the family of the color I wanted. I specifically told her if you can not have it as light as the picture just don't let it look copper. Guess what? Half of it was copper because it's two tones on top of my base color. Very unprofessional! this is Bayonne not Hollywood. I was being lectured on what tones would work for me based on ethnicity and skin color?! I should have read the reviews honestly because the stylist has done it to other customers. The appointment was at 10 am and I left past closing. She continued with other customers and had me sitting for long periods unattended. Then rushed to finish my hair because the salon had closed. Needless to say it's been over a month month and I'm still upset with the outcome. It was supposed to be a day of relaxation for Me and instead I was fighting tears back. Leaving the salon that day my hair did not look bad because it was straightened but by the end of the night it was curling. So, the blow out didn't even last a night. First time at this salon and I came in for a trim. I was placed with Clara. I asked for an inch off of my hair, long layers, and the front pieces of my hair angled. Pretty straight forward. Clara didn't initiate conversation with me, rushed the whole time, and was overall unpleasant. As for my hair, she took off more than an inch and the angled front pieces don't blend at all. It's like she took a chunk and cut straight across. I would not recommend this salon. read more

What can I say? Eve is a master of her craft, a visionary, and an expert on hair with whom you can not only feel secure, but also thoroughly excited about your locks. I have been visiting Teezerz and mainly making appointments with Eve, the owner, since I was a little girl. In fact, she styled my hair for my First Communion and she gave me highlights for the first time when I was in high school. It goes without saying that I have never been disappointed, but have always left the salon feeling ecstatic and confident. This visit, Eve and her team rectified the disaster that occurred at another salon (See review on Salon Bangles for further information.), revived my damaged hair, and advised me on how to properly maintain my new look as well as sustain healthier hair in the future. Teezerz is costly, but you get what you pay for, and you can rest assured that Eve's team are professional, experienced, well-trained, and concerned that you leave the salon loving your hair for a long time to come. That's all you really need to know, but if you want all the little details, keep reading: Salon Bangles (Springfield, NJ) accidentally dyed my hair pitched black, refused to admit the color had come out darker than expected, and neglected to offer any advice or assistance when I told them I was unsatisfied (more like, devastated). I waited six weeks to have my hair dyed again, because it was damaged from using box dye twice (Seriously, never again!) and then made an appointment with Eve because I knew I could trust her to not only fix my hair, but make it beautiful again. Eve saw my damaged, black hair (now also with regrowth) and immediately had a vision. Her plan was to color my roots, strip the black dye out, use a toner to seal the color and provide a shine, and finally finish off with a balayage. Eve advised her assistant as to what to do, but was involved in every step of the process. Now my hair is a beautiful, rich medium brown with natural warm highlights spread evenly throughout that Eve and her assistant hand-painted on with care. The best part? The balayage does not have to be adjusted or kept up for about six months, because the look is natural and also looks good as it grows out. The only things I have to do in the next six months are touch up my roots and make sure I keep my hair healthy. In order to do the latter, I bought shampoo and conditioner that Eve recommended (Expensive, but my hair needed it!), vowed to use a heat protecter, and will come for trims as recommended. In short, Teezerz is expensive, but you get what you pay for and when it comes to hair, I've learned the hard way that it's never good to cut corners when you can avoid it. Now that I invested in my hair, I will never turn back. Box dye ruins your hair. Inexpensive salons may make mistakes that they refuse to rectify. But when you go to a good, reputable salon where the staff love what they do and care about their craft and their customer, you make an invaluable investment in your personal appearance. She brought me back to the blonde that I love so much and also gave me my life changing extensions in which I will be eternally grateful. I tried this salon when I first moved to Bayonne several years ago. I made an appointment, but upon arrival stood at the front counter for no less than 10 minutes while the receptionist was on a personal call talking about her wedding gown. When I finally had the nerve to interrupt her & mentioned that I was a customer & wanted to be taken care of not listen to her talk about her gown, she was very snobby & said "Well, I'm getting married in 3 weeks"! Well, needless to say, I had my hair done & NEVER went back there again. Their prices are high (compare with Brooklyn/Staten Island, although they are in Bayonne) & their staff, at least the front desk receptionist that I encountered was horrible. The owners should realize that the receptionist is the face of the business & the first person the customer comes in contact with, so better front-desk employees & more customer service training are definitely needed! Save your money, go to J. City or Hoboken & get your hair done there for the same price, but with better service! read more

This salon has been my go to for a couple years now after i was recommended to go to them from a friend. It is super clean and the ambiance is always on point! I love their music too!! The last two times i went i had Klaudia, and lets just say she knows her shit! Anything that i show as in pictures her she does but much better! I always come out of there feeling refreshed and like a new women. I have really difficult hair (long and thick) this is the only salon that knows how to deal with it. Worse Salon ever. I went there for a balayage on my virgin hair. They booked me with Clara. I explained to her that i was nervous coz it was my virgin hair and wanted three things done right on my hair: 1. Blend my hair color correctly from dark to light. 2. Do the spacing of the dye right. 3. Getting the right color. I showed her a picture and when she was done, i realized after toning my hair. The color of my hair is bronzish brown which was totally the opposite of the blonde i wanted. When i spoke to her about being upset, she said to me that i have to come again to bleach it the right color. I said to her why didn't you say that i need to come back for it. I wouldn't have come in the first place because i had a wedding the following day and couldn't appear with my hair looking like that. She said am sorry i should have told u but u have to come again. I refused and told her that she needs to fix it. She then called her boss and they both started working on "temporary dying my hair" quickly coz they had to leave before the store closes. I was soooooooo upset the way it came out, it had strands of grey, blonde and brown. I just wanted to leave and cry. When they asked me to pay $334 for a glazing that wasn't done and for foiling which ruined my hair and a color of the balayage that was not right at all. She gave me the breakdown of everything after i paid and she said u r lucky coz we didn't charge u for 2 balayages. I just wanted to leave and find someone else to fix this for me. All of my friends and coworkers have told me how amazing this salon is. I made an appointment for a wash and blow out to treat myself. I called and spoke the to person who my appointment was with and asked her if the wash included a scalp massage (I'm used to it. I was driving 50 minutes to go to a salon for my wash and blow out simply because it included a few minute of scalp massage, it's my favorite part) She assured me that it included a scalp massage during the shampoo process. I was in and out in 20 minutes, which I dont think is a good thing because I want to feel pampered when I get my hair done and not rushed. She quickly (and painfully) washed my hair the wash was over in like 1 minute, literally. She left shampoo in my hair and ears. and hardly conditioned my hair. I wasn't even really that upset until she said she was done with my "blow out". My hair is naturally poofy and frizzy and that's exactly how it looked when she was done. It looked like I flipped my hair over and just dried it with a blow dryer without a brush.I mentioned that it was like poofy and wavy and she took a wand and just waved it over my hair and that didn't do anything to impove the frizz or poof. I felt like I would be annoying to ask again so I just left disappointed because I get embarrassed in these situations. To add insult to injury she took all of the products that she used on my hair (the ones she wouldn't stop talking about the entire time) and put them on the counter basically forcing me to buy them! I could understand a suggestion but putting them on the counter as if I had no choice but to buy them made me extremely uncomfortable. When she walked away I told the person who rang me up that I didn't want the products and only wanted to pay for my blow out. It was about 5:58 when I left and when I found out they close at 6 I put two and two together that I was rushed out because she wanted to go home not a minute late I guess. I feel so ripped off for my 40 bucks. But if you close at 6 why would you schedule me for 5:30 and then rush through it? When I walked in the house my mom said, I thought you were getting your hair done today? and I said I DID! It didn't even look done at all. My friends who are regulars there told me to call and explain my experience but I don't want to get her in trouble because I know she didn't do it on purpose but I just feel like I didn't get the amazing experience that all my friends and coworkers rave about and yes, maybe it was just a bad experience, but a first impression goes a long way and unfortunately I wont be back :( read more

I made an appointment the day of and explained what I wanted to the receptionist. I arrived and got my hair washed pretty soon after. The stylist who did my hair was nice. However another employee began to rush her because she had another client after me. She said then said to the employee "how was I supposed to know her hair was going to be like this" while she was doing my hair which definitely made me uncomfortable. Then when it came to my haircut.. it felt rushed and did not look like the picture I provided her.. it was much shorter and very choppy. It almost looked as if I took scissors and cut it straight across. The blow dry and flat iron was okay but also felt rushed and didn't really take the time to get my hair completely straight. So, although the salon was very nice inside and prompt I wouldn't recommend women who have curly or coarse hair to go there. I also think because I was not a regular I wasn't given the time and care that I'm sure regular customers receive. Also, I don't feel the price I paid was reflected in what I received. read more

I have gone back and forth on whether or not I should make this review. However, I decided its only best in hopes that management sees this and does something to help their employee. I have gone to the same stylist for more then 5 years. She even did my hair for my high school prom. However, we weren't close and didn't talk much. It was one of the times that I could relax and get my hair done in trusted hands. Peace and quite is what I loved the most about the service. Recently, however, my stylist did something that has made me look elsewhere for service. I went in for just a cut and style. The stylist hadn't arrived yet so I waited. And usually I don't mind a wait but it was a 45 minute wait in the reception area. Yet when the stylist came in, she seemed a bit off. Her speech was slightly slurred, she seemed a little too happy, and she moving in a slightly impaired way. She had me sit for a wash while she started dying someone else's hair. I waited in her seat for another 30 minutes. But when she come to start my hair, i immediately knew something was wrong. I should have said no to the service and listened to my gut, but I let her continue on with the cut. She was having difficulty brushing my hair, she was talking to other employees at loud levels and interjecting their conversations with clients. And people noticed this was odd behavior. She cut my layers nicely but when she got to the front of my hair to do my face frame she was so shaky. I became so nervous with her that I told her it was fine and i liked the front so she would stop cutting. When she blew out my hair she burned my scalp and even hit me a few times with the blow dryer. After she was done I quickly got out. Now I know that she had to have had something wrong with her. She was defiantly in an altered state while doing my hair. Could have been illegal or a legal drug or prescription, could have been drunk, could have had a concussion, etc. All I know is that the staff noticed many times and did nothing to stop her from working. I should have listened to my gut and said something. The front of my hair was completely uneven and messed up and i wanted to go back and get it fixed but when they offered her to fix it, I couldn't bring myself to go in fear I would encounter the same experience. Teezers, If you know which stylist it is, please talk to her and help her cause she even dropped the scissors 3 times.
