I had requested a blowout which they told me would be $35 and was done by Rebecca. A normal blowout nothing extra, then when I had gotten up to the cashier the lady behind the counter decided to mention it would be $60. I still left a good tip as I had always planned, but as the customer I should've been informed if this was the case from the beginning of the service. They absolutely do great work but it's very hard to get an appointment and honestly I don't like the atmosphere. Very snobby.. also last time I was there I got stuck waiting where you get your hair washed with the 2 employees talking about their personal lives and gossiping about another employee. Very unprofessional and uncomfortable.... I can only imagine what they say about customers considering they like to bash their own team. read more

One the best salon experiences! Front the minute you walk into the salon you are immersed in a dream bohemian oasis. Huge gorgeous ceilings, and perfect lighting. Every inch of this gorgeous place is a beautiful surprise; visibly decorated with great love and care. Just like my hair! BRITTANY IS THE BOMB! A TRUE ARTIST. Professional, patient, caring and kind. I came here with my sister to get her hair and make up done for prom today. My cousin suggested it bc she got hers done here as well... Erica did her hair and it came out amazing. My sister showed her a picture and she did exactly that. It looked so beautiful she did such a good job. Alyssa did her make up and that looked gorgeous as well. My sister is suppppppper picky with the way she looks and she actually loved it. I totally suggest coming here if you're in need of a glam look. They're amazing. I've been going to Jessica for years, I love her and I followed her to this salon. This salon has such an amazing atmosphere, I love it.

This salon not only has top notch service, it has the most positive energy I've ever felt. You walk into what feels like a little cottage, and everywhere you turn there's positive notes and beautiful decor. You mentally escape for a little while into their oasis. I have my main girl Jessica when I go, but on the off chance she's not available if I need something last minute, I have at least two other girls (Erica or Lisa) whom I enjoy just as much. Each and every person at the salon gives you the royal treatment, and they are a real team. Please go check them out, you will not be disappointed and will keep going back! read more

Had my hair done here for the 1st time last week. The atmosphere is so calming and relaxing. Everyone was so sweet from the minute I walked in. My appointment was for 12:45 and I was in the chair at 12:40. Not like other places where you wait around for a half hour. Jessica did my hair. She was absolutely amazing. I explained what I wanted. She suggested a certain look, which we went with, and I'm obsessed. She is not only the sweetest person, but is so informed and so talented at what she does. My former stylist transferred here and after about a year, I stopped going. It's small, cluttered and loud. There's nothing relaxing about this experience and the prices were higher than my former stylist's previous salon. It's a shame because she does beautiful hair. However the other stylists there are loud and crude so I won't be returning. read more

I called them as a new customer looking to get an idea of their pricing. Their receptionist picked up and abruptly said "Bohemia hair salon, hold" and proceeded to put me on hold for about 5 minutes. When she returned to the phone, I asked her how much they charge for a trim only. She couldn't tell me. She stated they start at $55 and, as for the final price, they "decide the day of." I asked more than once for pricing and asked what the maximum price would potentially be. She wasn't sure and didn't offer me a consultation. I said thank you and she hung up on me without saying goodbye. Very rude and there is no excuse for that. I called two other local hair salons after that with the same question and they were both very friendly and neither hung up the phone without saying goodbye. Bohemia Hair Salon needs to evaluate their receptionists for professionalism and courtesy because the customer experience starts there. read more

My hair always turns out perfectly. All the girls here are equally talented, and very friendly. The decor is also very beautiful and the vibe is very positive and carefree. I first started going to Bohemia Salon about a year ago. Prior, I had been very loyal to another salon for years, but was always underwhelmed by the results. I immediately fell in love with Bohemia not only because of how beautiful it is inside, but by how friendly and kind the staff is. Colleen did my hair and she will do it forever because she is AMAZING. Seriously. No one else is allowed to touch my hair ever again!!! My hair is naturally pretty dark, but I like to keep it light (Something my prior salon never understood. They always just highlighted my hair and kept it very streaky). Colleen does an incredible job every single time. She makes me platinum blonde..."bumps it" "bleaches it" who knows what it's called, but it's perfect every time. The owner is the sweetest thing in the world and you can tell her staff adores her. The rest of the stylists are talented, friendly, hilarious and really seem like a family. I recommend Bohemia Salon to everyone, my sister even travels from Manhattan to get her hair done here and now after seeing my hair, my cousin wants to start coming all the way from Pennsylvania to have Colleen highlight her hair. I first went to bohemia about a month after they opened because my stylist (who i wont name bc i love her and its a shame i wont be going to her anymore) of 10 years transferred there. First impression of their decor was it looked like trash. But whatever I was there for a glaze and haircut I'm not a huge decor person. The other stylist in the salon were so obnoxiously loud talking about how hung over she was, real professional. Another stylist wouldn't shut up about Dave Matthews Band which was almost as embarrassing. I thought their prices were a little higher than my stylists old salon considering the atmosphere wasn't as classy or luxurious but again no big deal. My problem came on my second visit. My stylist was running a little late so my mother and I were waiting for her on a gross bench picked from the trash when I hear the owner say someone gifted her an American Flag but it didn't match her garbage decor so she THREW IT OUT. And told the person who gifted it to her that it was stolen. She must of seen the disgusted look on our faces bc she said "I mean I love my country the colors just don't match my decor". My stylist walked in, we awkwardly got our hair done while the other stylist continued to be loud, talk crap about each other and have their husbands and kids run around. Not exactly relaxing. I debated on making this review for months and decided not to. Until today on Memorial Day I see instead of posting something thanking our soldiers for their sacrifices she posted "make love not war" absolutely disgusting. I have told so many people not to go there bc of that, how anyone could support a business owner who hates the country who gave her the opportunity and freedom to own a business is horrible. There are way better salons on staten island and you dont have to look at the ugly decor. The American Flag is to beautiful for your ugly salon anyway. read more
