Really enjoy their selection of whiskey. Haven't bought to many other things from them but have dropped over 1k in whisky so far. Great selection of craft beer. There's plenty to choose from but try to find a date as the 2 beers we did get were a bit old and not so fresh tasting. The wine selection was huge although I didn't have a chance to check it out this trip. I will be making a trip back to check it out. The store is quite big in selection. As a last minute birthday gift, I went to Tehachapi Liquor Store for a bottle of aged Tawny Port for my husband. They didn't carry the 20 year port that he likes (and that I know the price of), so I opted to splurge for the 30 year Tawny Port. The price listed on the bottle read $199. When I said that was too rich for my blood, the owner lowered it to $150. Thinking this must be a good deal, I agreed to buy it. At the cash register, they raised the price $10 for using a credit card. I explained to them that at no time have I ever paid a fee for using my credit card, even when purchasing inexpensive items. When I got home, I researched the price for Sandeman 30 year tawny port and discovered that ten different stores sell it for between $74 and $85. Although the owner led me to believe that I saved $50 on the reduced price of $199, I actually paid $80 more than it generally sells for, plus another $10 for the credit card fee. I will never shop at this dishonest, price gouging store again. So, their price of $199 vs. other stores who sell the port (on an average of $80) is a $119 mark-up. Lesson learned. read more
