The turkey ciabatta was flavorful, had the right amount of meat, cheese & pesto to the bread ratio. The grilled cheese was good, the balsamic drizzle was missing, would have just made it better.. it was good without it. Our barista was focused on completing the orders, which is great for the traveler wanting to get back on the road, not so much for the friendly idle chitchatter! It's all good! 3/18/26 9:15 First time there, bad 1st impression. One barista, 3 people waiting for coffee. I waited 4 minutes to get order, and another 5 before I asked for a refund. i was on the clock and waited while the Barista chatted with a friend in line talking about meeting at a bar or something on Friday. Bu the time I waited 5 minutes after the order, the same people were still waiting for their drink. A couple that came in after me got there's before I did. 9:40 by the time a left with no coffee. No,"Someone will be right with you" No apology for the wait time. She offered me a coffee instead of the Americano I paid for, then I thought I paid via card, but I paid cash. The cashier couldn't tell on his end that I paid cash. $6.50. No customer awareness. I won't be back. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this crew was awful... Really bad look for those people. Mountain coffeehouse has become a regular stop for us on our trips too and from Las Vegas. This place is a real hub of activity. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and the Sunday afternoon knitting club was there knitting and pearling away while they sipped delicious coffee and ate delicacies from the baked goods. We were there for the delicious turkey ciabatta sandwich. The bread is toasted and it just makes the turkey spinach and tomato covered with melted provolone so much more tasty I chatted a while with members of the knitting club while we waited for our sandwich. They're there every Sunday and they knit for people that have cancer who need hats to stay warm. It's a great community up here in Tehachapi. I was impressed with it several years ago when we held a dance recital here this coffee shop seems to be sort of a club of community activity. Great coffee spot hidden in Tehachapi definitely would recommend it if in the area or just driving past on the 58. The place is warm cozy and welcoming. The menu is great and the coffee is even more delicious. I have to say it's in my top two coffee places in kern county. I went with a Americano which was great! It had a smooth mellow flavor and not bitter at all. My wife went with a vanilla latte with Espresso whip cream made in house, she loved it. My daughter had a "Love Potion" sparkling dragon fruit lemonade which she loved as well. They offer food and pastries and the selection is abundant. I went with a slice of coffee cake and I really enjoyed it. Overall a great experience and great coffee, I really wish they had one in Bakersfield but I don't mind making the drive or making a quick pit stop on the way to Vegas. read more

I'm visiting from out of the area and needed a GOOD iced coffee! A quick Yelp search lead me Mountain Coffee House. I ordered the Seraphina's Bloom. Salted honey lavender with lemon cold foam. I'm usually not a fruity coffee fan, but this particular combination is perfect! The lemon cold foam really compliments the honey lavender. My new favorite drink! I might have to drive into town every day to get this drink while I'm here! An old house has been renovated into this charming coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. I love this place. My friend introduced it to me a while back and I come here as often as I can. My favorite drink is the Blackberry daydream. It's desert in a cup! I have tried the spinach and feta pretzel, the regular chai and a sip of my mom's honey bunny. My husband tried the petals and cream and loved it. Well, this was an absolutely amazing experience. I am a coffee snob spoiled by Europe, New York and Napa Valley - best places to get a really great coffee. On the way to Sedona found that little coffee shop just about a mile away from the highway. Amazing vibes, nice little sitting area with a fire place, really good food, but the best was super friendly service and the best bone dry cappuccino I've had in years. Really, the drink was absolutely perfect. If you travel from CA to AZ, and if you need a cup of delicious coffee backed with good experience - this is a place to be. read more

Cute little coffee house not far off the highway with a very welcoming, cozy modern cabin ambience. Large menu, featuring tons of coffee options as well as teas and other fun beverages. They offer a good variety of creative bagels and sandwiches, as well as fun pastries. I ordered the birdy bagel and an iced latte with vanilla and hazelnut syrup. This place is SO cute!! We came the Saturday before Mother's Day and they had a little sign that said they were understaffed and to be patient. However, they were super quick and we got our coffee and food rather quickly! So I can only imagine how fast they are when they've got everyone working :) I ordered the caramel macchiato and asked if they could make it on the sweeter side, as I like my coffee sweeter. They said no problem and made it perfect!! It was so good! After getting home to Bakersfield I found myself craving another! I also ordered the breakfast bagel with sausage. Delicious! Their sausage was so good! Slightly spicy but very juicy. My friend tried it and said it was really good too! 11/10/2025 ~10:30am Around this time last year, we met one of the owners (or the owner's husband) of this coffee shop at another spot in Tehachapi. He was super nice and welcoming, especially since we were new to the area, and told us to check this place out. Since then, I've come by a few times and always had great experiences, friendly employees, amazing food, and good vibes all around. It's even become my go to spot to bring friends and family when they visit. Unfortunately, today's visit was really disappointing and honestly kind of embarrassing. When we walked in, we took a minute to look at the menu and decided to try something from the fall specials. As we went up to order, the employee at the register (Leah) rolled her eyes at us. My friend asked a few questions about drinks and milk alternatives, and the employee's attitude was so off-putting that my friend decided to skip the drink altogether and just order food. Watching the interaction was uncomfortable. Leah came across as annoyed and aggressive, like she didn't want to be there. When it was my turn to order, I tried to keep it quick, but after everything I said she'd respond with, "What else, guys?" in a really dismissive tone, like we were bothering her or taking too long. The food itself actually tasted really good, just like it always does, but it was hard to enjoy it after the experience we had ordering. We ended up spending around $60, and to top it off, there was a hair wrapped around the grapes that came with our food and my friend's sandwich wasn't what the menu described. I've never seen this employee before, so maybe she was having a bad day, but it completely changed the experience for us. I normally don't leave reviews, but this one really needed to be addressed because it was so different from the great service I've had here in the past. read more

Upon ordering, the employee, Leah had rolled her eyes as she came from the coffee bar area. Immediately, I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. I asked a couple questions about the seasonal flavors and asked for oat milk which they did not have, which was okay. My friends order was even more painful to listen to as Leah's attitude was so uninterested and short. After receiving my food (a sandwich and 4 grapes for $13 lol) , I noticed the egg was some type of scrambled egg when the menu said it came with over easy egg. I asked the taller employee with curly hair if I could please get the over easy egg. She responds with "we're out of over easy eggs." Which confused me because how can you be out when you are making scrambled eggs? Unless box eggs is what is being used.. I let her know that that was not mentioned upon ordering and she responds with "What, you don't like scrambled eggs?" Which I let her know, no I don't. If I'm spending $13 on a sandwich It would've been nice to get what I had ordered or at least informed of the lack of "over easy eggs" lol Between the unwelcoming attitude from Leah and the sarcastic responses from the other employee, I won't be returning. 3.5 Stars Nice cozy place inside. Definitely looks like the kind of place it would be nice to just sit and read good book. As far as the coffee I had high hopes based on the reviews, but sadly, the coffee fell short of my expectations. I ordered an oat milk, shaken espresso. The shots were over extracted and a bit bitter. Possibly could've been that the beans were over roasted, but either way not what I was expecting. It's possible that some of their other drinks would be more to my liking, so I may come back another day since I'll be in town for a few days and try it out again. read more

Yesterday 7/2/25 approx 6:46 AM, after receiving virtually tasteless coffee and a coffee cake (which is supposed to compliment a good cup of coffee (which (again) this was not, the small piece of coffee cake was better suited to increase the stock price of the local sugar factory. Sweet is fine, toooooo sweet is absurd. Next time, I'll search further for a better option...you might just want to do that now. read more
