The great thing about Angel is that he pushes all of his athletes to do things that seem impossible to them.

I really love this gym. It's a similar concept to booking a standard workout class, but instead of…read morea class you book a pod. These pods are probably around 12ftx12ft in size and include a squat rack, bench, and weights - really everything you need to have a great strength training workout. No sharing necessary! There are a handful of cardio machines - bikes, a treadmill, climbing thing - that are spread out, and I think free game for anyone's use. I don't often see many people using these though. Also, I don't really understand how the turf and outdoor area work and would appreciate some clarity there. It seems like those areas may be designated for personal training sessions? Reservations for the pods are in 1 hour increments. It's fairly easy to get a spot booked, especially if you're flexible with the time of day - mornings can fill up quickly. Overall, this gym has a great community feel. They even have a run club, which I haven't tried but am curious about. While I want everyone to know how great this spot is, I also am afraid of the hidden gem secret getting out!

Whether you're chasing PRs or just getting started with your fitness journey, this is a great spot. Everyone at the gym is super friendly, there's tons of natural light, and the space is always kept clean. The only downside is that it's right next to B. Patisserie bakery, which can be a bit dangerous if you're trying to stay on track with your fitness goals.

They offered a great deal and rather paying the drop in fee. They offered the Buy a coffee and first class is free promotion. 10/10 for service Equipment is perfect. When it comes down to it A-1 equipment and really offers everything in regards to boxing. They have double end bags, heavy bags, tear drop bags and speed bags. 10/10 for equipment Location is where I'd say is why I rate my experience 4/5. Took me an hour to find parking and is near medical facilities which is a pretty busy area. 5/10 location All in all great place to train. I can't say much about membership pricing since I only did a drop in and was a offered a promotion. If you live in the area I'd say it's best to walk, Uber/Lyft or Bus.

Luckily, intro drop-in classes were 2 for $35 (though my trip ended before I could do another class), $4 for wraps, $5 for glove rentals. Not too shabby given the gym is spacious, open, clean and welcoming. The front is a coffee shop so I was confused at first. There is ample room to wait, place your items in cubbies and use their clean locker rooms prior to class. You are also welcome to hop in to warm up but they will warm you up and make you question whether that in itself was the workout. Had a great class with Coach Paulo -- he trained with us and showed us a bit of his beast mode. Since most folks had established partners, I was able to work with him and he took the time to ensure none of us were left behind. We practiced with group drills around the bags, footwork, endurance and partner drills on the bags, ultimately ending with abs. One point I really enjoyed is that he was so welcoming to southpaws, as he had initially trained as one in his early days. He also worked with each of us and gave us tips to improve our form, which is very important. My entire experience was pleasant (except for my legs and breath giving out) and our class size being smaller than the previous really helped. I look forward to going back to The Park Gym in a heartbeat when I'm in town.

I…read morefrequent Epic Hybrid Training in Miami, so was very excited to see how it stacked up all the way across the country. I booked a Blast class with Dan. She was so friendly and welcoming from the get go. I knew it was going to be a fun one! My favorite thing about Epic is that no class is the same. This was super high energy and cardio focused with eight rounds we did FIVE times. I was sore for days! It's only 45 minutes including the warmup and cool down, but you really get a ton out of it. The studio itself is smaller than the one I'm used to but there were about eight people that came and room for everyone to move about. It also felt very clean and I appreciated Dan mopping up our sweat as things went along. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in San Francisco and would encourage anyone looking for a fun and new workout to give it a try!

I originally saw a 6-week challenge ad on Facebook and I thought, hey why not. The main reason and motivator being that I wanted to be in really good shape for my wedding this Fall and all the associated pre-wedding festivities. I saw this as a really great way to launch my fitness journey and kick-start a new me! After a few email exchanges, I worked with Jenn P. to set me up for the 6-weeks. She also took some measurements / pictures and loaded me up with information on how to eat and how to prepare for the challenge with EPIC. I worked hard and showed up to classes 5 days a week and ate according to the meal plan. I really enjoyed the classes and I loved how encouraging all of the instructors were during the challenge. All of the instructors were so friendly and really encouraged me to extend myself a little more or push a little harder and I really think that was key in my workouts. I mean, who doesn't work harder when people are rooting for them? I didn't really lose any weight for this challenge, but it wasn't really my goal to. What i did get was a new-found appreciation for workouts that challenge you and are super fun, but don't leave you feeling like you've been hit by a bus. I also accomplished two major things during my 6 weeks - being able to complete the traverse down and back again and make it to the top of the rope climb. Feeling super positive about what is to come in the next 6 weeks of my fitness journey, but I can tell you that this is the lowest body fat percentage I've been at in a WHILE! :)

He's also a dog lover and took great care of my dog while I worked out. Even gave him some treats which was super sweet of him!! I was initially worried I might not have access to the same equipment I had at other locations due to the smaller space but that wasn't an issue at all!! They also have a bunch of stuff to aid in recovery that I didn't know about. Ryan recommended the inflatable compression sleeves for my legs. I had never tried them before and he walked me through putting them on. Highly recommend this gym and am grateful for Ryan!

It honestly feels like you're in a submarine. The men's locker room is tiny, and like most gyms,…read morethey've oversold memberships and it shows everywhere. The pool is pure chaos. About a year ago, they had a policy of onsite lane reservations, which is the right thing to do if you don't have online lane reservations. You had a clear start and end time, could plan your workout, and actually get a full swim in. For some reason, they've stopped doing that. Now you show up with no idea if you'll even get a lane, let alone finish in time to get to work. They're also allowing three or more people per lane, which is just unrealistic. Once a third person joins, it stops being a workout and turns into traffic management. You can forget about flip turns entirely. The lane speed designations don't help either. Most people are on tight schedules and aren't going to wait around for the "right" lane to open up. They also block off a lane for personal training, which is understandable, but that lane could still accommodate another swimmer. Decisions like this chip away at what's supposed to be a core service. Most pools in the city allow reservations. You can reserve a lane. Some even have a no show fee which totally works. you can't trust humans to so the right thing here because they in most cases won't. Bottom line, the lack of reservations and overcrowding make it impossible to plan a consistent, efficient swim. It turns something that should be straightforward into a daily gamble.
