Is this Tele's trying to rip us off??? When I have been ordering my food I have always asked for 4 scoops of Guacamole. I usually visit at least one time per week. The last time I ordered I asked for the same. The nice lady said we do not sell it that way. I had remarked this is how I always order it. She then proceeded to tell me that they sell it in 1, 3, or 5 scoops. She said if I ring you up for 4 scoops it will be $13. If I ring you up for 5 scoops it will be $9. So the previous thief's have been ringing me up for 3 scoops and charging a single to rip me off for $4 every time I have been making the purchase. Why is there only ONE honest person working at Tele's??? I would say this is coming from the top down. Seems the word it rip off the customer anyway you can! BEWARE if you are going to visit this establishment. They will be nice right to your face with a gun in your back stealing your hard earned money. First time trying this restaurant and I have to say it it was pretty good. I didn't come here expecting Mexican food I came here expecting Tex-Mex food and that's exactly what I was served. There were three of us in our party and we had a short wait for a table. That was not a problem as the place was pretty busy of course it was a Saturday afternoon. The staff did their best to keep everybody happy and satisfied. Food was good not the best I've had but definitely not the worst. I would definitely come here again. Our waitress (I don't remember her name) but she was very helpful even though she had it quite a few tables to tend to. She did keep our drinks full and even offered us a to go drink. She brought me a to-go container for my leftovers and also small containers to bring home our extra sauce and a bag to bring our extra chips home. Okay there was one thing that just confused me to pieces. The waitress brought over chips and salsa and asked us if we wanted butter. I have never been asked if I wanted butter at any other Mexican restaurant in my life. I looked around and there's people putting the butter in the salsa and I thought oh my God that is just gross!!!! Oh I didn't put no butter in my salsa I just couldn't do it. Being from Southern California watching people put butter in their salsa just made absolutely no sense to me since they're salsa is really yummy on its own. First visit at this location. Didn't have to wait long to be seated for Sunday lunch. I do think though were we were seated we were slightly forgotten. Chips and salsa are excellent. My wife and I ordered the 2 enchilada dinner(chicken/cheese), rice & beans. The cheese enchiladas, to be frank, are nasty. We let them know and they said that they cook corn tortillas differently for the cheese enchiladas. Why, I have know idea. The waitress, who was very good, took care of them and came back with 2 more done what we would call the normal way. These were good. As for the rice and beans, not good. If they meal could have reflected the chip and salsa then this would have been a great visit Unfortunately it was not and more than likely we will not return. read more

NO just NO. I understand that this passes for East Texas fine dining, but the food was not that great, the restaurant was pretty much boring, and what is up with putting squirter butter in the salsa? OK way better than Taco Bueno or taco hell, but not on my list for a return engagement. read more

We have eaten here many times and the food is always consistant and good. My wife always eats cheese enchiladas (at every Mexican restaurant) and she says theirs is the best. Their service is always faster than you expect and continues through the entire meal. Good food, good service and fair prices. What else could you ask for? read more

This place is the epitome of Tex Mex! The atmosphere is a little bit "hole in the wall" but that makes me love the place even more! Their delicious salsa is a huge selling point as well. Love how "corny" their chips are, very nice crunch and a unique flavor, I wonder if they make them in house? The owner (and family) are all super nice Hispanic folks, they like to hunt and fish just like any other East Texan might.. their service is always extremely fast and efficient, a Tele's lunch might beat a fast food restaurant's time, so if you're in a hurry, stop by! This place claims to be authentic Mexican food, they don't have the right to claim that. Everything is a half ass version of Mexican food. Heating up tortillas in the microwave, canned tortilla soup, cold guacamole slapped in a microwaved tortilla is not avocado enchilada. Everything is mediocre at best. Skip this place unless you're in the mood for a Tex Mex version of Taco Bell. Chicken flautas were decent. Not worth the drive nor the money. Restroom was disgusting, I had to clean it and sanitize it myself, you're welcome Teles. Do better. read more

I ordered some kind of chicken jalapeño fried something or another and yea, NO BUENO. It was fried too hard and in old oil. Even my kid wasn't messing with the chips n salsa. read more

This restaurant had become one of our favorite "after church" lunch spots until recently. On our last two visits both the chips and the taco shells tasted like they had been fried in old, stale grease. They were terrible. On one visit, I pointed out the problem with the taco shells to the waiter and asked for two soft corn tortillas instead. He was very accommodating and I chalked it up to the fact that everyone has a bad day once in a while. Then today, we experienced the exact same problem with both the taco shells and the chips. I pointed out to the waiter that our chips tasted like old grease and he replaced them with chips that were good. I plan to write Tele's and let them know of the problem because we really do like to eat there. Their salsa, queso, and guacamole are really good. Their lettuce tastes fresh and their food is really good - especially their chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce. read more

Not recommended. Ordered sirloin steak "week done". First they might think that people don't know their meat cuts but they don't serve sirloin steak. They advertise it as such but IT IS NOT SIRLOIN, instead is some cheap cut that tasted horrible(straight from the freezer to the grill) burnt, dry and freezer burnt taste. After I told the server that it didn't tasted good, she did offer to send it back and I did say no thanks. I already knew what they were going to bring back(the same not sirloin steak meat). The plate said that I came with an enchilada with the steak and well...there was no enchilada, only beans, rice and some lettuce, 2 flour tortillas and that's it. The menu is all enchiladas in different sauces...literally enchiladas all over the menu and not much of other variety. The pink lemonade my wife ordered(watered down and did not tasted like lemonade at all. We will definitely not go back to this place. read more

Me and my husband stopped there on our way through and saw a sign that stated "Best fajitas in Texas". Found out not so. The beef was chewy and chicken was dry both had a bad after taste. They give you only 6 tortillas in total for the meal on fajitas for two. And waitress was more interested in playing on her phone than patron's needs. Nor did she cared. If asked for more tortillas they would go to kitchen and you can hear cook say that they weren't going to give any more tortillas because that's all they give for two orders. This place is a trap. Had a VERY BAD experience. Suggest go somewhere else!!!! read more

Traveling back to Dallas on old highway 80, we found this place in Gladewater. Now, I was pleasantly surprised to find this Tex-Mex and then find the food was good! Not much in Gladewater for eating but this was good, maybe I was just really hungry. read more
