Telluride Offroad Adventures provided the experience of a lifetime for me, and I don't say this lightly. A tour is a tour is a tour, but not with Kevin Pisters. Kevin's extensive knowledge of the historical significance of mining in the region since the 1870's was not only relevant, it was entertaining. There was no structure passed that he didn't have a comment about, sometimes technical and historically extensive, sometimes observational. Kevin has a reverence for the area, and it showed in his contagious enthusiasm for not only the history, but in his personal research and understanding of mining processes, and identification of rocks and minerals. I personally like to be entertained, but what I enjoy most is being educated. Kevin did both, and as deftly has he handled his jeep over the rocky pathways. Thank you, Kevin. I can't stop thinking about the tour (8:30am, 9/24/25). It blew my mind, I am so grateful for the experience. A shout-out, too, to Herb, who went beyond in assisting me in finding the most appropriate tour for my needs and interests, which was a Tomboy mine focus after reading the 'Tomboy Bride' memoir.

Our family at the top of Bridal Veil Waterfall.

We had an amazing time and got to see so many things on our adventure tour with Telluride Offroad. Our guide Kevin made it so fun and his knowledge of the history of the area is definitely unmatched. We definitely hope to come back and have another adventure. Seating was roomy and comfortable especially considering the terrain we scaled. We had our three kids ranging in age from 8-14 and they all loved it as well.

Kevin was the best guide. Extremely knowledgeable about all things Telluride and he knows his plants really well. The whole family had so much fun.

Ophir pass fun!

Kevin was amazing! So knowledgeable and wanting to learn more about the area. He taught himself about the area and loves to tell you as much as you want to know . We had such a calm and peaceful drive through some fairly rough terrain! He even found a cookie and lemonade stand for us! Thanks for such a wonderful experience!!

Justin was so knowledgeable and kind. He literally climbed rocks to take pics of our group. He also put safety first and made our group feel well taken care of in some weather and a traffic jam at the top of the pass. Amazing experience!!! Recommend 10 out of 10!

We got to see the most beautiful mountain views and we made some friends along the way. Justin and Dacks (the doggo) were amazing guides!! Friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly made us feel completely safe the entire time. Hope to go on a tour or meet him for a beer sometime soon!!

Amazing experience with our guide Justin up to Imogene Pass! Definitely benefitted from his experience and knowledge. His driving in their brand new 4wd vehicle provided a smoother ride than we had expected. Our 8yo daughter loved it, and we never felt unsafe at any moment. Weather cooperated with our am tour, and we were lucky to have some of the clearest views imaginable. This was definitely the highlight of our 2 summer trips to Telluride so far!

I cannot say enough good things about this company. I booked the 4-hour tour online. The original destination was deemed unsafe due to high rains and washed out roads. They still gave us a great tour and took us to a trail that was open. Our tour guide Justin was nice, professional and very knowledgeable on the history of the area. Of all the companies available, you must use them!

He was knowledgeable, funny, patient, and especially great with our kids, which made the whole experience enjoyable for our entire group, from our young children all the way to my parents. The tour took us to Bridal Veil Falls, the tallest waterfall in Colorado, and then to an incredible overlook with one of the most breathtaking views of Telluride. We never would have experienced these places the same way on our own. Riding in the restored 1970s Austrian military 6x6 Pinzgauer was an adventure all by itself. The truck handled the terrain unbelievably well, and the ride struck the perfect balance of excitement without ever feeling unsafe. It was just enough adrenaline for the kids while still being comfortable for my parents. If you're visiting Telluride, I can't recommend Dave's Mountain Tours enough. It was fun, scenic, family-friendly, and absolutely worth it. Ask for Grant if you can!!

My wife had heard that Mild to Wild rafting took great care of their clients. Last year at this time, we were wading up the San Miguel river / stream and fly fishing. Shallow water, tranquil pools and great fishing made it a different weekend. When we booked this, I thought it must be a mistake as this stream did not seem strong enough for rafting and narrow in width. What a difference a year makes. The river was full, fierce with heavy water and good class 3 rapids for the next 1 1/2 hour. Big rocks, fast water, big snags and quick currents were the norm today. One had better stay in the boat, as it would troublesome swimming in 42 degree water. Alyssia, our guide was fabulous and serious about following her instructions. She navigated the rocks, snags and fast water. She maneuvered our boat well. For the next 1 1/2 hours, we had 3-4 foot swells and worked the entire trip. We have rafted many rivers and this was one of our shorter trips but a 5/5 on adventure. For a great adventure, beautiful scenery and a gorgeous day, raft with Mild to Wild. You will have a fun filled and adventurous memory for life.

The drive up during a storm was also an adventure we were nervous about not making our time slot with the roads being bad. We were able to make it during our slot time and luckily still had time to get ready. I will note to leave a lot earlier during a storm. Once we arrived our guide made sure to provide us instructions and made sure we all had proper gear for riding. They also offered us some hot drinks before, half time and after our ride back at the trail head base camp. During breaks my boyfriend and I were able to take turns driving and enjoy the views. The back seat was very comfortable. Our guide took us on some loops in the area and we came back to camp to warm up and use the restroom during breaks. My boyfriend did go off the track by accident and our guide with a few other men helped get it out easily. We had a lot of fun with our guide who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We did run into a few other groups on the trails which caused some bottlenecking. Our guide was able to coordinate to go around or let the other groups pass by us. I highly recommend going with ice pirates and also wish they had more merchandise to buy to remember our trip.

We hiked the Hikers' Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt, and we hiked solo rather than with a group. RW booked our hotels, hostels and huts, arranged for luggage transfers, and gave advice whenever I asked for it. They were persistent in finding us rooms in their favorite places, even being waitlisted at one hotel that opened up in time for our trip. Everything worked out perfectly. More importantly, they found charming places to stay that offered dinner and breakfast, and mapped out our route in 8 days, giving recommendations about how to abbreviate the entire hike, which usually lasts 11-12 days rather than our 8 day hike. I am certain that we could not have had such a great trip without Ryder Walker. I am also convinced that we were booked into nicer rooms because we were with RW rather than just solo travelers who showed up dusty and tired. Their expertise was absolutely invaluable in planning this trip. I will definitely book again with Ryder Walker!
