My wife and I flew into Montrose and drove to Ouray for our 15th wedding anniversary for a Jeeping trip. Colorado 145 dropped the jeep off at the airport in Montrose, texted me pictures and instructions the morning of the day I was due to pick it up (You don't end up paying any airport rental car taxes since they are not officially an airport rental service). I was shocked when I received the pictures! I had reserved a Jeep Rubicon. However, I was shocked to see a rubicon with front soft top over driver/passenger, 35" tires, and a suspension lift kit upgrade. We walked out the Montrose airport, followed the pictures to where the jeep was parked, opened it per the instructions, only to find it was also a high end trim package with leather, heated seats etc... I did quite a bit of research prior and NO ONE else offered upgraded jeeps and most were base trim packages interior as well. On top of that there was no big tacky logo/website across the window, obscuring the view. So instead of a rental car, and then paying to rent a jeep for one day to up on the trails, on top of the rental car, we had a top of the line, upgraded jeep for 4 days in the mountain as our rental car and to go on trails whenever we wanted. The service was incredible, in addition they helped me with several questions on trails, and surrounding area. At the end I dropped it off back at the airport and texted them pictures of where it was parked and walked into the airport with our bags. Whether jeeping, hiking trip, skiing in Telluride, or ice climbing in Ouray, this is where to get your rental jeep from! (We got ours in Montrose but they have a location in Telluride too) read more

This place was great. We rented a jeep for the day. The jeep was a beautiful nearly new 2021 4 door rubicon that was perfect for the rugged terrain of Telluride, Silverton, Ouray, Lake City, and capable of conquering all the passes connecting. We did the Alpine Loop which has breathtaking views. Steve was amazing in his communication and showing us how to operate everything and talked us through all the many trails. We highly recommend renting a vehicle from Colorado 145. From past experience, we knew it was close to impossible to rent a 4WD vehicle from the big name car rental companies. Last year, when we thought we had one reserved, we arrived in SLC to learn that the big names don't guarantee that a SUV rental is 4WD. So, when we planned a ski trip to Telluride this year, I specifically searched for 4WD rental agencies. I found Colorado 145 and I am SO HAPPY we found them. We had a long drive to the slopes every day over a dirt road that had almost a foot of snow on it. The Subaru Outback that we got from Colorado 145 handled it with ease. The car was almost new and was outfitted with Arctic Claw tires. We had the ski rack on top and were able to fit our family of 4 and all of our ski gear well, including two large guys (one 6'7"). As it turned out, we were also one of the unlucky thousands of people affected by the flight cancellations around the holidays. Colorado 145 worked with us to enable us to drive all the way to Denver with the vehicle. This meant them driving over 12 hours to pick up the Subaru at the Denver airport. I don't think any other company would do this for a customer. It was amazing customer service and we feel forever indebted to them. The pick up of the car at the Montrose airport when we arrived could not have been easier. It was waiting for us only steps from the baggage claim. The price was right, more than half off the big name car rental companies. They were responsive to texts immediately when we asked questions, including after our flight was canceled. You will not go wrong renting from Colorado 145. read more

On a whim, we rented a Jeep for my birthday weekend. We were discussing plans for the day, and saw the Jeeps outside Colorado 145, after I nixed renting bikes (I'm not athletic at all). We popped into the store, and ended up renting a Jeep for the day. Our hostess was very friendly. She walked my husband through the paperwork and gave him a free t-shirt (he loves t-shirts). The Jeep was in great shape, very clean and well maintained. We had a blast climbing the mountains in it that day. She gave us a map and recommendations for a couple of trails that yielded amazing views. This is a great way to spend a day in Telluride and the surrounding mountains. Colorado 145 is a new business. Andy (the owner) is very friendly and knowledgable about all the various trails and routes, and made some great recommendations that lead to a really awesome day. The views available from the Jeep trails in the high country are unbeatable. The Jeeps are all brand new, and top of the line Rubicon models. Our Jeep was great, and made easy work of some challenging terrain. The shop is located right under the base of the Gondola in the Mountain Village core, so it's super convenient to get to. We had so much fun with our jeep rental! We went up Imogene Pass which was so scary but so awesome. The views are to die for. The Jeep was super nice, handled well and was very comfortable. The man working the desk when we arrived was very friendly and had some helpful advice as to which passes were too muddy and how long it would take for us to do each pass and what to expect. My dad, brother and I rented a jeep to drive over Imogene pass. The guy who runs the business was really polite and answered all of our questions about routes and drive times. The jeep was a 4door rubicon and it was comfy for the three of us. We are all very tall people and the space in the four door vs the two door was worth the extra cost. The route over Imogene pass was challenging and fun, but not scary. Overall we had a fantastic and memorable day thanks to Colorado 145 jeep rental. We recently rented a 4 door Rubicon Jeep from Colorado 145 for the day and traveled the 4WD trails around Telluride and neighboring areas. The office staff was very helpful in providing advise and trail selection. The jeep was new and still had the new car smell. It was easy to handle the trails smoothly, despite the rugged terrain. The trails were fun, some challenging and the back country was beautiful with the most amazing sites you cannot find on the highway. The trails were not crowded at this time, however, there was snow to maneuver around and not all the trails were open. Still, this full day adventure was the highlight of our trip and we highly recommend it to everyone. read more

Outstanding rental with Colorado 145 Jeep this past August Tuesday. We called during business hours to schedule a rental, a person answered the phone, got us the jeep we needed and emailed over the contract and insurance instructions to expedite the process at the pick-up counter. At pick-up, the staff member was very helpful going over the trail map and pointing out some different routes that I had not considered before. Then it was a short ride over to pick up the Jeep and the instructions were laid out perfectly for the return process. As for the Jeep, was a 2 door Wrangler in excellent shape. Had nice Weathertech seat maps, Sirius satellite radio, good sound system, and most importantly was ready for serious 'jeeping' in the San Juans. My only small suggestion would be making the map a little bit more detailed in the Alpine Loop portion as the Hurricane Pass and California Pass were not precisely listed. The price of the rental for the 2-door was also $175/day base price where as Ouray Jeeps are $120-$150, but I understand the mark-up for being in the Mountain Village. We were able to maximize our day and I do appreciate the business not having you return the vehicle until 8pm. Very good experience with the company and will use them for my Jeep experience next summer. read more

Our best friends, my wfie and I hiked Bridal Veil Falls in the morning and then rented a 4 door Jeep in the afternoon. The guy running the business did a great job of explaining and walking us through everything. Beacuse we were starting out in the early afternoon, he suggested 3 trails that we could get through and get some really great views along the way. The drive up Ophir Pass was worth the entire trip! We hita couple other trails, saw great mountain lakes in the area, and visited the Alta township ruins. You have to do this! Telluride is literally one of the greatest places to visit, and there's nothing like taking your own Jeeping expedition up and around the passes in the area. This was by far THE BEST activity we did hands down. The staff are knowledgeable and available to answer any questions you may have. The jeeps are brand new (at the time of our rental), clean, and obviously very capable to handle the terrain. Renting a jeep with Colorado 145 allowed us to explore these passes and the breathtaking views at our own pace, which is extremely convenient when kids want to take a break and explore at their leisure. It was all an extremely easy and positive experience and we will take advantage of this every time we come back, which we hope to be often. There's so much to explore and taking advantage of what Colorado 145 has to offer will only help fuel you're desire to truly experience what Telluride has to offer. read more

Did some OJT, as it was our first time driving a 4X4 over the 'easier' routes of Last Dollar Road, Ophir Pass, and out to a ghost town near Silverton, over a 48-hour rental period. We rented a four-door jeep and it was very clean with some great off-road tires. We stayed in the Mtn Village and the rental office was very convenient and easy. We then took the gondola to the parking structure and picked up the jeep. We took it over Imogene Pass to Yankee Boy basin and it did really well. The ride of the new jeeps is much smoother than the old ones and made for a great trip. I certainly would recommend them and use them again. read more

Impressed! As a long time frequent Telluride visitor and father of an avid Jeep driving son, I have done most of the rental and tour options in Telluride. What a find Colorado 145 is and what a great addition to town. First of all, they allow you to make reservations and pay online. Oh my. Can you believe this? And they are at their counter/office at 8:00 am when they say they will be. And then they make the process of picking up and dropping off brand new Rubicon equipped Jeep Wranglers truly simple and pleasant and provide simple trail maps and guidance. While most of this seems pretty basic, I challenge you to call or email or drop by the competition in the area. You will then know why I was so excited to discover Colorado 145! What great people and what a professional business. We had a blast going to Alta Lakes, over Ophir Pass, having lunch in Ouray, returning via Imogene and then checking out Bridal Veil. We wanted to go offroad while visiting Telluride, to see some Colorado mines and waterfalls. However, when we looked into the so-called "Jeep tours" offered by the tour companies, we discovered that the vehicle wasn't a Jeep at all (it was a truck outfitted with seats in the bed area) and it didn't make the whole loop in the area to see all the mines. Not being interested in that tourist trap option, we discovered Colorado 145 when going to the gondola up at the Mountain Village above Telluride. Having a Rubicon at home, and doing a lot of 4-wheeling in the Sierra Nevadas, we were very comfortable with renting a Jeep from the company and spending a day in the mountains. And what a day it was!!! We had a fabulous time, doing what we wanted to do (not what was on the canned agenda for a tour), and going where we wanted to go. Andy, the owner, was so nice, and gave us maps with a suggestion as to where to drive and what to see. We had such a great time with my 80 year old dad!! I cannot recommend Colorado 145 highly enough. If you want to do your own thing, in the comfort of your own rental vehicle, definitely check them out!! read more
