    Beer Cheese Pretzel Burger

Don't let the 3 stars lead you to believe that this is a negative review. The place is just what 3 stars is...and this is it was just ok. Nothing terrible. Nothing to write home about. It served it's purpose for me, and that was to get some food in my belly and to have an adult beverage. I chose to sat at the bar. The lady behind the bar was super nice. She said she usually doesn't work behind the bar. No worries, she got the job done. The bar had Jim Beam Red Stag, which you don't see much anymore. As soon as I saw that, I had to get a mix with that and coke. The "bartender" also said I should go with a burger instead of a sandwich. I took her advice and got the Beer Cheese Pretzel Burger. This had bacon, some crispy onions, pickles and of course some cheese sauce. The burger was a good size. But, it was just average. Bun was soft, too. So, um yeah, that's about it.

Good enough to visit again. Appetizers, food, and drinks were good. Service was hit-or-miss all night. I don't think they are prepared to handle a bigger group all at once. If you're just stopping in to visit the bar or have a small meal, you'll enjoy their mix of pub/comfort food. And try the sangria, it was great. (Frequent traveler from out of town)

We LOVE this restaurant!!! This is Iowa food at its best. Osage (which is one of Andrew's favorite small towns) is an adorable place and we've eaten at Teluwut five times. Every time Andrew has ordered something different and loved everything. I was addicted to the Iowa chop for the first four times, it is sooo good! The last time I wasn't feeling like having a big piece of meat so I had the portobello sandwich and it was amazing! The mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries are our faves. They're known for their flat iron steak but try anything. It's all good. Always good food and good service at a great price!!! ps please add more desserts, though we've only had room for dessert once we would have liked to have more options. thanks!

Good food, friendly service, and you don't have to wait long. Great margaritas as well. Lots to choose from.

Since when do we only fill a beer 3/4 full? The top of the substantial head didn't even touch the rim?

Hungry in the Hawkeye State [St Ansgar IA]…read more After taking the self-guided tour at the SPAM Museum in Austin MN we decided to skip having lunch around the area and drove over the state line to Iowa and had lunch at this unassuming place called City Limits Bar & Grill. It was 21 miles from the Spam Museum to the restaurant. We arrived around 2:45p and the restaurant was surprisingly busy, the crowd was loud, various sports were showing on the flatscreens, everyone just having a great time. The waitress was busy but she single-handedly handled the crowd and the bar pretty well. On the way here we passed by seemingly countless rows of corn and wheat. When the waitress came to our table to get our orders we asked her what is a popular food Iowans like to eat. She pointed on the menu at the Old Fashioned Fritter sandwich. It is a center-cut pork loin, pounded and either grilled or dipped in their signature batter then fried. I ordered a 16-oz Bone-in French cut Ribeye. She said there are more cattle than people and the most pork LoL! They are also known for their steak. She wasn't lying... both the Iowa-style breaded pork fritter sandwich and the steak were delicious. It was just funny seeing the humungous pork tenderloin in between the bread and made the buns look tiny. The beef is so tender, juicy and flavorful. Looks like a popular place with the locals and visitors too with its warm, inviting ambiance and friendly staff. Review #3844

I was immediately greeted by a young hostess who was happy to find me a table, but I said I'd find a spot at the bar. I was immediately greeted by Sophia who handed me a beer list and was happy to pour a sample. That's nice service to start out with. She checked in but was never overbearing. A+. Their unique 60/40 beef/bacon burgers caught my eye...mine had cheese sauce, tons of bacon, and bacon jam. You can only have these cooked medium well or well done; for a burger I feel that's acceptable. Sandwich components were all delightful...the beer battered fries have a nice smooth coating and the house made ranch was the thinner variety was a great complement too. I'll kip the pretzel bun next time; I didn't find it to be a great complement to the components on the burger. I felt too many taps had crappy mass-produced domestics for the squares out there. I highly recommend the Mason City Cream Ale. Wish they sold their glasses! Credit cards have a 2.99% service fee. Thankfully, debit cards have no fee...which is the law. Not many places follow this procedure.
