Maizie and Stuie both think Brian is the BEST (and he has better treats than mommy)

Alida W. 0 friends 1 review 1/29/2020 5.0 star rating My nervous mini golden doodle puppy Maizie and I did the six-week training package with Brian. He was patient, gentle, and he really knows his stuff. I was surprised at how quickly his suggestions paid off with improved behavior, quicker re-direction in Maizie. While she and I have lots of work to do to get her to where I need her to be, I have a better understanding now of how to get there. Even though our 6-week pkg is finished already, today Brian texted me to follow up and see how things are going. He really loves his four-legged clients, which shows up in how well he communicates with the 2-legged variety :)

Brian is absolutely fantastic to work with and I would highly recommend him for any behavioral issues or general obedience. We hired him because our new dog kept going potty inside the house, jumping up on people, and not listening to us. Since the first session, our dog has not gone potty inside at all and is good at letting us know when he needs to go outside to go potty. Our dog has a really good temperament but Brian taught us how to get our dog to respond to commands (sit, off, down, wait) by using positive reinforcement. It definitely was teaching US how to train the dog and that consistency is important. You can tell he really enjoys working with dogs and was always punctual and willing to work with us.

We are so lucky to have found Brian when we brought home our four-year-old rescue, Cash. We were told that Cash lived outside for his whole life, and he did not have any training. Brian knew exactly how to approach training Cash, and we were so impressed with how quickly Cash picked things up with Brian's leadership. One of the things that we loved most about working with Brian was how clearly he explained what we should be doing, especially when Cash wasn't doing what we were trying to get him to do. He showed us and gave us a chance to practice. In six lessons over approximately two months, Brian taught us how to teach Cash touch, sit, stay, heel, slow, quick, wait, leave it, and more. Cash was overly excited in the car, and Brian helped us to interpret his behavior and correct it. Cash would whine and jump on us whenever we tried to eat in his presence, and Brian showed us exactly how to change that behavior. Cash seems like a different dog now! Training locations varied to include our home and public places, which helped us to test our skills and Cash's in the real world. When we told Brian that we wanted to get our 55 lb. Bulldog and 15 lb. Boston comfortable sitting in a cart made for human children, he was eager to make it happen. We are excited to take them to outdoor wineries and restaurants now. Brian was great about communicating between lessons and flexible with our busy schedules. Brian would be our first call if we ever needed help with dog training again. Couldn't have done it without him!

Brian is an amazing trainer! We got a puppy too young and he had some behavioral issues from leaving his mom too soon. Brian understood exactly how to relate to the dog and how to lovingly train the dog for us to achieve our desired results. By the end of our very first session our dog knew several commands. Brian taught us how to get our dog to want to do what we want him to do. Our relationship with our puppy is now sooooo much fun because we understand him and how to communicate with him and many of our concerns are no longer an issue. We are now equipped to understand and communicate with our dog solely due to Brian's training of our dog and of us. I highly recommend hiring Brian instead of trying to do it yourself based on YouTube or articles. You'll be so happy you did. Brian genuinely cares about our dog and our relationship with him. We are looking forward to hiring Brian again for more lessons and to witness just how else our sweet puppy can impress us.

Brian is hands down the BEST trainer I have ever had the pleasure of working with. We were having issues with our 1 year old blue heeler/cattle dog being aggressive with strangers and bolting out of the house. Brian identified the reason for her issues and helped us train them out, and improved her basic commands and leash walking all in a few lessons! He is wonderful with dogs and wonderful with their people! He even went the extra mile during the pandemic to come to our home, in a mask, and worked outside to keep everyone involved safe. Thank you, Brian!

At his age, he is very sensitive and has some of the little quirks and challenges that come with being a senior dog. Grooming can be stressful for him, so I was a little nervous about how he would do with someone new. Gennifer was absolutely wonderful with him. She was so patient, gentle, and understanding of his needs. She even used a sling to support him so that his little legs and body wouldn't become tired from having to stand for too long. She took her time with him and never made me feel like his age or sensitivities were an inconvenience. What touched me most was the way she handled Noah with genuine kindness and compassion. She seemed to understand that he isn't just an appointment--he's my beloved senior boy who deserves to be treated with patience, dignity, and care. I know grooming can be challenging on its own, and I can only imagine that working with senior dogs adds another level of patience and care. Gennifer handled Noah's individual needs so beautifully, and I could tell that his comfort was important to her. As a dog mom, there is nothing more reassuring than finding someone you can truly trust with a beloved pet, especially when they are getting older. I left feeling so thankful that Noah was in such caring hands. I'm incredibly grateful for the referral and feel very fortunate to have found Gennifer. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone, especially those with senior dogs who need someone patient, gentle, and genuinely compassionate. Noah is already scheduled to come back!

It was a huge blessing, considering we wouldn't be able to drive down for one before our wedding. In general, we were reluctant to leave our two pups, Milo and Enzo, at a boarding facility for the first time because we have never left them in another person's care who wasn't a relative. But we are so glad we did and that we had a wonderful experience! Naomi took great care of them for 4 days. She was very responsive, professional, understanding, and most importantly, kind. She gave them all the attention, love and care they seek and need. We were impressed with her clean facility and were relieved that she was able to separate the two dogs during meal time as requested. She was easy to work with when it came to the dogs' specific schedule and instructions, and she was very open and flexible to our needs when it came to pick-up and drop-off. We trusted her so much that we even extended their stay by one day! She was fantastic and we are so glad we know who to go to again for future dog boarding needs.

She couldn't get along very well with our other 2 dogs as she really just had no manners and didn't understand social cues. She had such a hard time settling down in the evenings and would bark for hours from her crate. We just didn't know what to do. I was at my wits end! Then I called Farren at Board N Behave. I really just wanted to board her while my husband was out of town but the more I spoke with her and came to understood her insight and experience with other dogs like Maya I decided to have the training sessions as well. It was the best decision for my dog I could have ever made!! No more destructive behavior, settled at night and gets along great with the other dogs. No more pulling on the leash either. The best part is that she is now a joy to be around, cuddling with us on the couch or relaxing on the porch. Dog training is not cheap, but it so necessary, especially when you have behavioral issues. Thank you Farren! You are absolutely amazing!!!

My Chinese Crested, Hooper, had previous training but was still struggling with reactivity and socialization. I appreciated that Farren didn't push an expensive board and train--she assessed Hooper personally and offered private sessions that fit my budget. After just one session, I already saw progress. Over five sessions, both Hooper and I were trained--because we all know training the human is just as important! A month later, I adopted another dog, Bodie, and brought both pups to Farren's daycare to continue Hooper's socialization. We also did additional public training sessions, which were incredibly helpful. Hooper is now more confident and manageable! Farren has also been working directly with Bodie, helping him learn basic obedience and improve his behavior--especially with things like staying safely in the car instead of bolting into the street. His progress has been amazing. Farren is not just a great trainer, but also understands dog behavior on a deeper level. Her facility is clean, organized, and I fully trust leaving my dogs in her care. I highly recommend Board N Behave for training, daycare, and/or boarding!
