We hired Temecula Catering for our wedding in November 2014. Overall, we were very pleased with their food, pricing and coordination. Compared to a lot of the other catering companies we talked with, Temecula Catering was very well priced and provided a great value for what we received. Throughout the planning of the wedding, Michael and Erin were very responsive to our questions and emails. We had many back and forths regarding different rental options and lots of little details and they were always getting us the information we requested. Lisa was our Banquet Manager and was also a pleasure to work with. She accompanied us for a walk through of the venue to plan where all the tables and equipment would be set-up, helped us with final details in the last weeks leading up to the wedding, and was there the day of the wedding to manage the crews and make sure everything was taken care of. We thought she was very well organized and made everything go smoothly. The food for the wedding was great and some of the best best banquet food I have ever had. The sous vide cooking method that Temecula Catering uses makes sure all of the proteins come out super moist and cooked to perfection. We received many compliments from our guests regarding how good the food was and how surprised they were that great food could be catered. We hired Lisa James and Temecula Catering to handle our ribbon cutting event last night. The whole process of working with Lisa was amazing. She came out to see our facility and put together a quote based on our needs and what we had envisioned for the event. BEWARE!!! Read your horribly written contract very carefully. We used them for our wedding and booked 15 months in advance. Booked with an estimated head count for the event day. Even though the contract states final head count isn't due until 14 days prior to event, which is pretty standard for caterers, Michael said we were required to pay for the guest count we booked him with, again, 15 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT. Even though his contract states 14 days prior. What caterer requires a guaranteed head count 15 months in advance? Let me tell you. NONE!!! He then preceded to make us feel like the idiots and to say "sorry WE misunderstood the contract (which I presented to my $5 billion corporate company's lawyers and all of them agreed that his contract was amateur at best and what he was trying to hold us to was wrong in every way)and lawyers always write contracts with things left up to interpretation." Umm, no actually a contract is written so that absolutely NOTHING is left up to interpretation. Everything is on paper clear as day. So our option was pay the original contract amount which was $1500 more than expected and get extra food which we didn't need, or take his "customer service" deal and pay $600 more for nothing. This was his was of "meeting us in the middle." So to me, this is like hiring a plumber to fix an issue for $300, and he tears apart your bathroom then saying he won't finish unless you pay him another $500. Pretty much flat our extortion in my opinion. After much back and forth, he agreed to charge us for the head count we had 14 days prior, like a NORMAL caterer. But it doesn't stop there. We ended up having to do two different tastings with them as in the first tasting, the entrees were sub par and the meat was very dried out with most of the options. We selected our two entrees though only liking one of them. We had to pay for a second tasting even though the food was prepared poorly the first time around which wasn't our fault. We decided to make a change to the menu for our second entree. Even confirming the menu several times before the wedding day, the food we decided on the first tasting is what was served, even though we changed it during the second tasting. So our menu cards were wrong, the meat was insanely dry and while walking around, nearly every person didn't touch the second meat because of the quality. We brought this up to Michael the following week, respectfully, which given the amount of issues we had with him prior we should have been extremely upset, but we realize mistakes happen. No problem, but we should be entitled so some compensation/credit as we weren't served what was agreed upon. Michael referred to an email that in the body of the email was our correct menu, but attached the original contract (which was already out of date) from the original signing date and stated that is what we agreed to. When we were agreeing to the body of the email, not the already out of date contract. This was his justification saying that we agreed to it. So all in all, be very crystal clear with everything you do with this vendor. This is the only vendor we had an issue with and we were extremely thorough through the whole process. Very disappointed. The only reason I am giving it any stars is the food that was correct and agreed upon was very good as it was in the tasting. read more

We cannot say enough good things about Temecula Catering. We were lucky enough to have them cater our wedding and wow did they kill it. We let them know we were having a black tie event and we wanted the food to set the tone, and it really did. From the beautiful tray passed hors d'oeuvres (we went with bacon wrapped dates, artichoke hearts, and samosas) each bite was delicious. At our tasting we got 2 different chicken options because chicken is a safe bet with most wedding guests. But the chicken was definitely uncooked and my husband and I each took only one tiny bite, just to try it. The sirloin was super good and the risotto is TO DIE FOR. We had the option to choose 1 starch and we tasted risotto or mashed potatoes and let me tell you how much my husband LOVES his mashed potatoes, we literally chose the risotto because it is so good. We also chose the summer veggie blend for our veggies and it was full Now we get to the wedding and EVERY SINGLE PERSON RAVED about our food and the chicken was amazing. We had a smaller wedding, but everything was done on time and they were more than accommodating with any adjustment that we needed to be made. Chef Michael at Temecula Catering was such an excellent addition to our wedding ceremony. When deciding on caterers, we had one requirement...they had to be able to do a mashed potato bar. Michael was so accommodating to this wish and provided us with the best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten, plus all the toppings (cheese, bacon, sour cream, gravy, etc.), served in wine glasses to fit the winery location. I continue receiving praise from wedding guests about the food. One friend, a former event coordinator, even went as far as saying that he normally doesn't like wedding food, but that this was the best he'd ever tasted and that he has been craving it ever since! They catered our wedding in October and act like they will take care of you, but in reality the food wasn't that good and my husband said if meat was very tough. I took a couple bites of my dinner at our wedding before I was pulled away for more photos and the caterers took it away assuming I was done. I feel they should ask, especially the bride and groom, directly if we were done since we were the customers. Now I know so future customers beware- they will snatch your food up real quick if you don't make a freakin sign stating you're not done! I was starving the rest of the night.
