Tonight we had the Margherita pizza and the Volcano pizza, and both were absolutely delicious. The crust was perfectly cooked in the wood-fired oven, and you could really taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Every bite was full of flavor! They are always friendly, and you can tell they genuinely care about serving a quality product and creating a great experience. This vendor was referred as a preferred vendor for a wedding venue. Having said that I contacted them for a quote for my daughter's rehearsal dinner, Greg seemed very cordial and friendly providing a quote very quickly but then fell off the grid and started taking extended periods of time in between responses when I asked questions. Standard questions like what is the deposit amount and following up regarding a service agreement to book. Following his response regarding the deposit I let him know we wanted to book and requested the service agreement so I could send the deposit. Oh and side note this communication began on 5/19, emails and calls in-between that time with no answer by phone or very delayed email response. Anyway on June 5th I notified that we wanted to move forward with booking and from that point until the 19th he ghosted me. On the the 18th I asked if he was still available or should I we moved on, I sent a snapshot of our last communication where I told him we wanted to book and was just waiting for the service agreement along with a follow up of that email requesting again the service agreement so we can book. I received no response on the 18th, but received a very short and what I felt to be kind of rude text stating that we would just have to find someone else, with no apology or reason for why just very short and direct. So all these five star reviews sound amazing and we would've loved to have tried out his services and been part of the contribution to 5 stars.But unfortunately, we were not able to be and would not recommend this business because of the poor customer service I received during the planning stage. My wife and I just celebrated our amazing wedding day on 10/4/25 at a family residence. We had reached out to Greg months earlier to try out his pizza, and he was very accommodating to have us try his pizza at a Temecula winery before moving forward with hiring his services. Greg was extremely easy to work with leading up to our wedding day, even with our changing guest list and updating our menu for our big day the week before. On the day of, Greg and Sheila were so wonderful and kind with all our guests, and the food was top tier! They were prompt and well organized. We highly recommend everyone trying the Bacon Chicken Ranch pizza and Volcano pizza for their events. Greg also helped accommodate our family members who had dietary restrictions by making them special pizzas, which was much appreciated! Additionally, the Garlic Knots, Meatballs, Caprese Skewers were fabulous appetizers. We love pizza and we were so glad that we had Greg and the Woodfire Pizza Wagon team cater our late night pizza party for our wedding on January 29 in Carlsbad. Our guests kept raving about how delicious the pizza was and everyone couldn't get enough. During our planning process, Greg was responsive and easy to reach via phone or text. It was important for us to try the product before committing to a vendor. Greg invited us to stop by at the Peltzer Winery to try his pizzas. All of the workers in his truck were very friendly and they even gave us complimentary drinks on them. We were able to try four of their pizzas and absolutely loved all of them, particularly the BBQ chicken pizza! They are generous with their toppings and they did not skimp on anything, which is something we really appreciate. The crust was crispy on the outside but also had a great chew to it on the inside. During the night of the wedding, they arrived early to set up and started serving pizzas at the agreed upon time. Our venue held our reception on the second floor of the building, and Greg graciously ran up and down the stairs to keep the pizzas coming. Greg and his team made 5 different pizzas that my wife and I chose from. They allowed us to create our own pizza, so we weren't limited to selections they had on their menu. Even though our guests ate an entire meal before Greg's team started serving, our guests still devoured the pizzas. The pizzas were a huge hit! At the end of service, they boxed up the last couple of pizzas that remained. It was the perfect midnight snack. Greg was a delight to work with and I would have Woodfire Pizza Wagon cater any future event or party without hesitation! read more

WOW! I would give 10 stars if I could! First of all, communication from day 1 was awesome. We used this company for our brother's celebration of life and they were amazing! They showed up on time, set up was impressive and Chef Greg was the maker of the best pizza!! Greg and his staff were professional and so very nice and the food was Great! Salads were delicious and they made pizzas for 70 people and everyone was well satisfied. There were leftovers so that when those that stayed late into the night got hungry we were able to keep everyone happy. We had so many people compliment the food and the service and the way everything was set up. I booked Woodfire Pizza Wagon for my wedding on October 12th 2024, and it was one of the best decisions I made HANDS DOWN!!!! Absolutely delicious food and amazing people!!! Guests are still complementing us on how yummy everything was, and that choosing pizza was such a fun alternative to normal wedding food. Salads, appetizers, a large array of pizza toppings AND they have gluten free and vegan options. I have a gluten allergy and forgot to let them know to prepare a pizza for me ahead of time, BUT they made me the most delicious pizza ever all under 5 minutes and brought it right to me. One of the lovely team members also personally brought me and my husband a plate of appetizers to make sure we got to try everything. I unfortunately do not remember her name, but I remember the kind gestures she did and her going out of her way for me, and I greatly appreciated it. Working with Greg over the last year was one of the easiest parts of planning this wedding. He was very communicative and easy going, and really worked with me. Our daughter got married. We had Greg and his staff cater the wedding. They served two salads and we selected 5 pizza varieties. They also had vegan and gluten free options. The food was a hit. We couldn't do better than have fresh, hot pizza. Guests loved the pizzas so much that they were ordering them to go. The salads were fresh, crispy and delicious. So glad I used this company to cater my son's wedding rehearsal dinner! They came to our Airbnb in the wine country. The evening was perfect! Fresh, quality ingredients, presented beautifully. 2 types of salad: Napa Harvest Salad (mixed baby greens, blue cheese crumbles, diced apples, dried cranberries) and House fresh veggie salad. We chose 5 varieties of gourmet wood fired pizza "all you can eat." Caputo flour imported from Italy is used in the pizza dough. Everyone raved about the food and the top notch service. We were able to keep generous leftovers, which we enjoyed later in the evening by the hot tub. I would definitely use this catering company again! Would be great for weddings, retirement parties, family reunions, work parties and other fun get togethers. The owner is a true professional and I didn't have to worry about a thing. We held our rehearsal dinner at local brewery, and contracted Woodfire Pizza Wagon to serve up pizza for ~75 guests.
