Loved to buy a baseball cap, but my head is 61cm and I must have the velcro closure as the plastic snap hats are just too small & cheap for me. They have a counter bar area strategicly set with no chairs where it's comfortable for four 1/4 to 1/2 oz taste, but you don't get too comfortable. The hostess was pleasant, inviting and we honestly enjoyed reviewing the menu of +10 different whiskeys where we need to pick out 4 of them for the standard flight. They had a cross section of proofs between bourbons and ryes with a premixed old fashioned that was made by aging in maple syrup barrels. My wife went for ryes and i did the bourbons. I started with the 80 proof then navigated toward the highlight of the 115-proof. I was pleasantly impressed how drinkable without the burn going down was the 115-proof as it benefits from a sweeter, corn-forward base + cooler aging that results in better integration and less aggressive burn -- it "drinks easier" than the numbers would suggest. Of course, try what you can and it's great when you can share tastes between 2 people all the choices. For me, I found the cast strength aged 6 years 115 proof to be the best.

Becca clearly knows her craft--each drink was well‑balanced, creative, and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell there's real attention to detail and pride behind the bar. If you're on the fence about trying something custom, absolutely do it--you won't be disappointed. The food paired perfectly with the cocktails and rounded out a great overall experience. Between the quality of the drinks, the solid food, and the excellent service, Bluewater Distillery delivered across the board. I tried the 'Hot Shot' cilantro and jalapeño vodka cocktail which was ok - neither flavor (or spice) came through very much, if at all. I should've ordered a flight! Back to my crushed dreams of a patio-lunch-in-the-sun... a party of 4 was seated at the large picnic table (1 body more than us, and both parties couldve split the table its that spacious), AND they pulled a table from the other side of the patio and put it in the sunny spot we asked to sit in towards the end of our time there. As a service industry person myself, I wouldnt be so quick to offer an inside table instead of being minutely inconvenienced (we offered to move the table ourselves as well to be helpful), with a couple of 2-tops outside and 2 inside - they were not busy. Overall, not earth shattering, but neither was the food or drinks in comparison to the experience and bill sadly.

Getting there, the drive was really simple and the surroundings beautiful. The distillery itself is tucked away in the back near some other garages. There is parking near there but it is limited. We chose to sit outside because it was such a beautiful day. The service there was great because the individual behind the bar was very attentive, asked us questions about what we liked, and gave recommendations based on our answers. We wanted to start off with the flight, which was a great option because it helped us really decide on the drinks we wanted to try out that were recommended to us. In the end we got two drinks each and walked away with a bottle of brandy and gin. Safe to say that we enjoyed what we tasted. Highly recommend if you are in the area and want a nice chill experience.

We saw this place on yelp and thought it would be a great spot to find locally brewed spirits. When we entered we were greeted by Rob and Dylan. They were super friendly and Dylan did a great job at explaining the different spirits and what they have to offer. We decided to each do the 4 glass tasting for $15 and with 8 tastings total we got to taste most of what they had to offer. My boyfriend loved everything he tasted! I'm not really a big fan of darker liquors but I really loved the Harvest Gin and Eagle Harbor Brandy, I had to bring a bottle of each home to share. We drove to Bainbridge so it was super easy to get there and there was lots of parking available. Overall an amazing experience with great conversation and definitely will be visiting again.

We had a tasting of their delicious whiskey and liquors. All of them were outstanding: raspberry, blackberry regular and with orange peel and loganberry. Service is amazing, of course it's a small place so owners and the makers of the stuff are serving you as well. After the tasting, we proceeded to have cocktails in their back patio which also has live music 2-4 pm on weekends. We actually came back for the live music and listened to lovely singer in their patio while sipping cocktails. And of course I had to bring home some of the liquors as they were too good to leave them there. Definitely a must do while on Whidbey island.

But now that I've tasted it for myself, I can see myself returning for more bottles of bourbon. My friends and I were having a wine tasting day in the Maltby area, and decided to check out JP as our last stop. J.P. Trodden Distilling is a small-batch distillery, featuring bourbon whiskeys. The distillery is small, but has enough room for tastings and hanging out. I did the tasting flight, which included three bourbons, one whiskey and a maple syrup! All of the tastings were fantastic, and for anyone who likes dark liquors, JP is a spot to try. I ended up taking home a bottle of the single cask bourbon, but everything is great here. Staff was friendly and accommodating and it should be noted that there were free Seattle Chocolate truffles here! If straight up bourbons aren't your thing, they also have a couple cocktails that feature the bourbon to try. This was an awesome visit and one of many!
