    Refreshing Gin& tonic

Small distillery in Lynnwood that survived through Covid-19 and that says a lot. They have solid tasty gin products but my favorite is the lemoncello. Even our Italian friends are fans of this. Perfect balanced gin based lemon liquor with a full load of flavors that is perfect to end a meal or can just skip on it during the summertime. They actually peel the lemon rind by hand to avoid the white part that tastes very bitter. Another good thing about this place is they serve super tasty cocktails using their own products or from local sources. Their menu changes every month so we always have something new to try each time we come here. The staff and owners are friendly and very attentive. The only con of this place is its tiny space with limited seating. As long as you don't hate gin, go here and order yourself a tasty cocktail from this place!

We had won a free tasting and made the trip up to try out the offerings. I'm not a hard alcohol fan but my husband was pleasantly surprised by the quality of gins. They had three guns and a limoncello to try plus the owner made a small tasting cocktail for my husband which he thoroughly enjoyed. The distillery is hidden in a business complex like many small operation in Washington but we noted how clean and organized their facility was compared to others we've visited. Two thumbs up for taking such pride in their work! Their labels and fun literature themed names were an added bonus for us though we weren't sure how they tided to the company's name. Well worth a stop if you're in the area (open Saturday afternoons and by appointment during the week). They distribute in various locations in Washington and I believe are expanding to Idaho and Montana. If you're a gin drinker look for them on the shelves!

A bit of a drive to get to but they definitely delivered some quality gins. They offer four different recipes that you can taste including a limoncello version that was quite lovely. They also have a handful of gin based cocktails you can try - we had the old fashioned which was quite delicious. The bottle designs are exceptional and if you're looking for a unique gift for the holidays (or really anytime) you should give them a try.

A brand new distillery open this month in Lynwood, featuring "Chapter One" a traditional London gin. They are also offering a "Navy strength" (114 proof) version, with a few more notes of pepper and citrus. Both were nicely balanced, and would make an excellent martini or gin & tonic. Proprietor and distiller AJ Temple has plans to expand their product line to include Limoncello (hopefully next summer!) and eventually whiskey. Temple is not currently available in bars or liquor stores, so in order to try it, you'll need to stop by during their tasting hours. Currently, I think they are only going to be open on Saturdays from 12:00 - 5:00, but these hours may change. The distillery is located in a light-industrial warehouse campus, so be sure to get directions and look for the sandwich board on the main street.

We each decided to do a tasting. I had a few that I past on to the husband but there was one that I actually enjoyed. Definitely better whiskey than you get at bars. Hmmm, maybe that's why I don't like whiskey? They have a beautiful facility and the tasting room was filled with souvenirs from shirts, jackets, flasks, glasses and all of them looked top-notch. Loved to buy a baseball cap, but my head is 61cm and I must have the velcro closure as the plastic snap hats are just too small & cheap for me. They have a counter bar area strategicly set with no chairs where it's comfortable for four 1/4 to 1/2 oz taste, but you don't get too comfortable. The hostess was pleasant, inviting and we honestly enjoyed reviewing the menu of +10 different whiskeys where we need to pick out 4 of them for the standard flight. They had a cross section of proofs between bourbons and ryes with a premixed old fashioned that was made by aging in maple syrup barrels. My wife went for ryes and i did the bourbons. I started with the 80 proof then navigated toward the highlight of the 115-proof. I was pleasantly impressed how drinkable without the burn going down was the 115-proof as it benefits from a sweeter, corn-forward base + cooler aging that results in better integration and less aggressive burn -- it "drinks easier" than the numbers would suggest. Of course, try what you can and it's great when you can share tastes between 2 people all the choices. For me, I found the cast strength aged 6 years 115 proof to be the best.

Rhelynn, our server, was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming without ever being overbearing. She was knowledgeable about the menu, checked in at all the right moments, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and very enjoyable. The custom cocktails were a standout. Becca clearly knows her craft--each drink was well‑balanced, creative, and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell there's real attention to detail and pride behind the bar. If you're on the fence about trying something custom, absolutely do it--you won't be disappointed. The food paired perfectly with the cocktails and rounded out a great overall experience. Between the quality of the drinks, the solid food, and the excellent service, Bluewater Distillery delivered across the board. We'll definitely be back and will be recommending this place to friends--especially if Rhelynn and Becca are working.

Anywho, tacos were ok, a little dry and light on the fillings. Clams were standard steamed in white wine, and good. I tried the 'Hot Shot' cilantro and jalapeño vodka cocktail which was ok - neither flavor (or spice) came through very much, if at all. I should've ordered a flight! Back to my crushed dreams of a patio-lunch-in-the-sun... a party of 4 was seated at the large picnic table (1 body more than us, and both parties couldve split the table its that spacious), AND they pulled a table from the other side of the patio and put it in the sunny spot we asked to sit in towards the end of our time there. As a service industry person myself, I wouldnt be so quick to offer an inside table instead of being minutely inconvenienced (we offered to move the table ourselves as well to be helpful), with a couple of 2-tops outside and 2 inside - they were not busy. Overall, not earth shattering, but neither was the food or drinks in comparison to the experience and bill sadly.

Getting there, the drive was really simple and the surroundings beautiful. The distillery itself is tucked away in the back near some other garages. There is parking near there but it is limited. We chose to sit outside because it was such a beautiful day. The service there was great because the individual behind the bar was very attentive, asked us questions about what we liked, and gave recommendations based on our answers. We wanted to start off with the flight, which was a great option because it helped us really decide on the drinks we wanted to try out that were recommended to us. In the end we got two drinks each and walked away with a bottle of brandy and gin. Safe to say that we enjoyed what we tasted. Highly recommend if you are in the area and want a nice chill experience.

We decided to each do the 4 glass tasting for $15 and with 8 tastings total we got to taste most of what they had to offer. My boyfriend loved everything he tasted! I'm not really a big fan of darker liquors but I really loved the Harvest Gin and Eagle Harbor Brandy, I had to bring a bottle of each home to share. We stopped in for a visit and Paul took care of us, and I've got to say, he made the whole thing feel like we were getting a private tour from someone who lives and breathes the craft. He was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and answered every question we tossed his way without ever making it feel like a lecture. We ordered a couple of flights, and the best part was being able to mix and blend different whiskey styles ourselves. It wasn't just "sip and move on", we actually got to play with flavor, compare notes, and build our own combinations. That alone made the visit memorable, but the whiskey itself sealed the deal. Rich and full of character, every pour had something interesting to say. What we appreciated most was that we never felt rushed. We were given time to explore, talk through the flavors, enjoy the moment, and just be there. It's rare to find a place where the experience feels personal and unrushed, and Copperworks nailed it.
