It seems like they blend something (juice maybe ?) with the açaí and make it more like a thin smoothie with fruit topping. Super runny and not thick, not anywhere near the sorbet or milk shake consistency its ment to be. Even served in a To-go cup. But overall, not a bad substitute when you can't get your hands on an authentic açaí bowl. I'm sure the Gracie family (founders of the açaí bowl) would approve. I walked out thinking surely it's right now. It was bad AGAIN! I don't know if both the almond milk and powder was bad or if they didn't clean out the blender but it was still gross. The trays of ingredients were either empty or dirty, the store itself is dirty and not like other Smoothie Kings. After losing my appetite I sent my husband in to get a refund. The kids stated: "we can't do a refund (all 3 of them) we don't know how"..but the manager was on break & they didn't know how long it'd take before he'd come back. So we left paying $8 for a smoothie in the trash! I contacted the health department because it's not safe to serve outdated bad milk. It could make people sick! We tried getting in touch with smoothie King's corporate but they make it hard to find a general manager or anything. Very frustrating. Be warned local Temple people!

The mangonada was good, but it came with too much chamoy for my liking, to the point where I couldn't really taste the mango or the passionfruit. The fruit cup was great, and they had a lot of different types of fruit. They charge an extra dollar for using a credit card, and it came out to $16 for both of ours.

Well first, the place is inviting for people of a certain age as well as for young people with many decorations evocative of the hippie era. It's clean and very pleasant. The menu is ambitious, I think they try too hard to be cute. And though the service was excellent, it all came down to the food for me. I ordered the Birdie Trio. It sounded interesting. But too many of these restaurants trying to do chicken and waffles take the shortcut and use processed boneless chicken parts reformed to look like an actual natural piece. I was supposed to get a thigh on each waffle. The chicken vaguely resembled thighs. But the meat was white and very salty. Not good. Should I ever drop in again, I'll stick with a more traditional combination and maybe my extra will be better. And oh, that credit card machine is set at a default of about 22% tip and that's on top of tax. Watch out!
