Sapporo east is a cute little Japanese restaurant located right on the pike. The inside area is decorated to look mainly like bamboo, with the ceiling resembling a sushi mat. There are two main dining areas in the restaurant, with one side a little more private. They do have sushi, hibachi, fried rice, and a few other things on the menu. This was a visit for international sushi day, so today was all about sushi. One of my friends said "wow this is probably the best spicy tuna roll I've ever had". Specialty rolls that I'd recommend are the Miami Spice Roll (the seared tuna on top makes it 10/10). The Aloha roll has yellowtail inside it that is seared to perfection. The orange flamingo and shrimp tempura were very tasty as well. For the simpler palatte, the japanese bagel roll and spicy tuna roll were great. For those who may want to share sushi and sashimi, they do make sushi boats with a variety of sushi and sashimi to share as well! The service here is good, with multiple servers checking in on you from time to time. Our order did take very long to come out, however, the waiter was nice enough to give us a discount for any inconvenience.

If you know, you know this is the best sushi in the area. Ask anyone qualified to recommend sushi and be told this is the place to go because of the fresh seafood and excellent service. Hibachi and teriyaki dishes are right up there as well. Yum! Look at the photos posted and you'll see why this place has been a longtime favorite among locals and visitors alike.

I have to say that things seem a little less than they were before. Rolls seem a little less. The restaurant itself looks more run down. Still pretty good but Takashi in Camp Hill is way better.

We stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday and it was a little busier than I expected, but we were able to get a spot. The vibe inside was super casual and people were popping in and out quite a bit picking up takeout orders. Our server was efficient and friendly taking our order and bringing out soup and salad before our meals. My dad got the chicken hibachi and my sister and I order some sushi to share. The hibachi was a huge portion and my dad ended up taking half of it home. He said it had really great flavor. All the sushi tasted extremely fresh and I was especially impressed by the nigiri in the sushi combo. The rolls were also really great and filling and prices were super reasonable for everything. I didn't realize the caribbean roll came with wasabi sauce in it (I don't like wasabi), but the sauce actually had a great flavor and wasn't too spicy. I've always heard great things about this spot so i'm glad I finally got to check it out!

The food is always great...fresh and tasty! I love the fact when Ferry sees me and gets me my table right away! Unfortunately, today they had their internet out, kitchen was chaos however when I walked in, I was greeted by smiling face and sat down. He made sure I was taken care of the whole time I was there. He was watching me like a hawk and making sure I was taking care of. This place is under the same ownership of Miso however.....this place has a lot better service then Miso. Please don't get me wrong, the quality of food is exceptional @ both places but I think Miso can learn a lot from the great service of Sapporo East!

Everything was amazing. The service was kind and attentive, and the food came out quickly. We ordered the Sunset Roll and the Sashimi Combination. The Sunset Roll was good, but we were blown away by the Sashimi. For around 26 dollars, we got 15 pieces of beautiful fish. The tuna was not bitter, and you could taste it well. The white tuna was sweet and savory. The yellowtail was similar to the white tuna in flavor. The octopus was chewy, but not that chewy. The real star of the show was the salmon. It was arranged in a beautiful rose and was so savory and flavorful. The pieces were very big and all of it was extremely fresh. The restaurant was clean and had alright ambience but the food made up for it.

Tatiana herself greeted us and sat us at a perfect table in the corner where we could look out at the restaurant. The food matched the first impression - presentation was superb! We started with the appetizer of chicken meatballs - 6 delicious bites to share. Flavor was on spot and the white sauce sweet yet savory. Next cam our dinners. Each served with soup (Ukranian borscht), lovely mixed salad, and homemade dinner rolls - to die for! We started with the Ukranian Ice Tea - and first for me. And now a staple! It had a hint of fruit tones, not too sweet, very cold, and refreshing! I had 2 glasses. We ordered the Ukranian Stew which comes with Ukrainian rice (another fabulous staple - I will add this as an additional side dish to any ongoing visits we make, it's that good). The sauce on the stew was perfectly seasoned as well - with a hint of cardamom and perhaps cinnamon? It was a perfect blend of savory with hint of sweetness to compliment the chicken, chicken sausage, beef tips, vegetables, and more that made up the stew. The sauce was worthy of a spoon to ensure every morsel was consumed - with bread to wipe the bowl clean! The portion sizes are generous as well. The second entre was the Colosseum Tortellini Combo with chicken, chicken sausage, mushrooms, onions, peppers and cheese tortellini all tossed in a Asiago Alfredo Marinera sauce. A other enjoyable dish. While we did not have dessert, the selections looked equally scrumptious! We will try the pumpkin cheesecake when we return. This is a family run business. Ash is the Chef, Tatiana runs the front if the house. They have a second floor dinkng space that can seat up to 50! Great spot for special event or party. Even Tatiana's mother participates with her dessert baking. Both Ash & Tatian were delightful. It was like being invited to a friend's home for a feast! Highly recommend trying. I know we will return to try numerous other items on the menu.

Also not too salty. Good portion and was served with a little bowl of miso soup and a little salad with lettuce and carrot drizzled with a very tasty gingery dressing. Sometimes the best food adventures start with a friend saying something so ridiculous that you…read moreimmediately assume they're making it up. In this case... "Have you ever had crab rangoon pizza?" Excuse me?! Surely that's not a real thing! Rather than doing any research whatsoever, I decided to blindly trust the adventure. If crab rangoon pizza actually existed, I needed it in my life immediately. That quest led me to Marzoni's. We arrived around 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon in July and almost had the place to ourselves. We grabbed a booth near the bar, settled in and were greeted by a super friendly, attentive server who made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. Marzoni's has been serving wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, pasta and an impressive selection of craft beers for years, but on this particular day there was only one thing on my mind...the Crab Rangoon Pizza. Of course we ordered a large. A short while later, our server rounded the corner carrying our pizza...and I'm pretty sure audibly squealed. At the very least, my mouth fell open and I was speechless, which is an absolute miracle! It was real! And it was BEAUTIFUL! The crust was perfectly baked with those wonderful blistered bubbles that tell you it's going to be good before you even take a bite. It was topped with creamy cheese, generous chunks of crab and crispy wonton strips that made it unmistakably crab rangoon...just in pizza form. We gave it a minute to cool...and then I took my first bite. Holy. Cow. It actually tasted exactly like crab rangoon! The creamy filling, the sweet crab, the crispy wonton strips...somehow it all worked together perfectly. It was one of those foods where your brain spends the first few bites trying to figure out how something this weird can taste this right. I happily devoured my entire slice and immediately started negotiating with myself about whether I should have another. Or another. Or maybe slices three through ten. My Responsible Adult Self (who is a complete buzzkill sometimes) eventually won that argument, but only because I still had more adventures planned for the day. PRO TIP: Come hungry or bring friends. The large pizza makes plenty, and you'll almost certainly be happy to have leftovers once you realize how good it is. Parking was plentiful in the lot outside, the restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Will I be back? Absolutely! Because now I know two things. First, crab rangoon pizza is, in fact, a real thing. Second...it's apparently a craving I didn't know I was capable of having until now.

Six of us sat down for a quick lunch about 12:30 in the afternoon ordering a variety of sandwiches, including burgers, Rubens, and salads. The fancy nancy salad caught my eye as did the add-on of salmon. This was a very full meal for lunch, but on the super healthy side. Beside the salmon that they put on top which was very large and not at all fishy tasting, the salad included mesclun greens, almonds, cranberries, feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, and their house Italian dressing. What an enjoyable salad this was. I think the best part of it was that it didn't include things I don't like such as onions and croutons!,

You know, I've worked in customer service a very long time - about 40 years - and this is the first…read moretime I've had this kind of experience. Let me start out by saying that Bryan, our server, was wonderful and did the best he could in a bad situation. His manager? Not so much. We came to this location tonight for a birthday dinner. My daughter drove an hour to get there. Our food had just been delivered and a crazy storm came through - the power went out. They apparently do not have a generator. We continued to eat with flashlights on. No big deal - we realize the storm isn't the fault of the restaurant. It's the way the manager handled it. I wanted my daughter to be able to get back on the road safely so we asked for a box and a slice of cheesecake. We assured them we weren't leaving - just her. We were informed that the manager did not want to give us the cheesecake "because we may not be making any money tonight and he doesn't want to give away more food." Ok, cool. Then we were asked to write down our credit card numbers and told that they would "charge us and email us our bill". We said absolutely not, that we would be happy to give them our name, email, phone, etc - but I am not writing my credit card information down on a slip of paper that will just float around in the dark. Not once did the manager stop by and talk to any tables - and let me be clear, there were only 4-5 tables with people. He made everyone feel as though we were thieves and were planning to run out without paying. He put his servers in impossible positions of having to come to us with us this message instead of coming and speaking directly to the tables that were currently there. Thankfully we had cash or I genuinely think if we'd tried to leave - even though we'd offered our contact info - he would've called the cops. Terrible customer service. This was my first and last visit to Carrabas and it is due to ONE person - the manager.
