Sapporo east is a cute little Japanese restaurant located right on the pike. The inside area is decorated to look mainly like bamboo, with the ceiling resembling a sushi mat. There are two main dining areas in the restaurant, with one side a little more private. They do have sushi, hibachi, fried rice, and a few other things on the menu. This was a visit for international sushi day, so today was all about sushi. One of my friends said "wow this is probably the best spicy tuna roll I've ever had". Specialty rolls that I'd recommend are the Miami Spice Roll (the seared tuna on top makes it 10/10). The Aloha roll has yellowtail inside it that is seared to perfection. The orange flamingo and shrimp tempura were very tasty as well. For the simpler palatte, the japanese bagel roll and spicy tuna roll were great. For those who may want to share sushi and sashimi, they do make sushi boats with a variety of sushi and sashimi to share as well! The service here is good, with multiple servers checking in on you from time to time. Our order did take very long to come out, however, the waiter was nice enough to give us a discount for any inconvenience.

If you know, you know this is the best sushi in the area. Ask anyone qualified to recommend sushi and be told this is the place to go because of the fresh seafood and excellent service. Hibachi and teriyaki dishes are right up there as well. Yum! Look at the photos posted and you'll see why this place has been a longtime favorite among locals and visitors alike.

I have to say that things seem a little less than they were before. Rolls seem a little less. The restaurant itself looks more run down. Still pretty good but Takashi in Camp Hill is way better.

We stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday and it was a little busier than I expected, but we were able to get a spot. The vibe inside was super casual and people were popping in and out quite a bit picking up takeout orders. Our server was efficient and friendly taking our order and bringing out soup and salad before our meals. My dad got the chicken hibachi and my sister and I order some sushi to share. The hibachi was a huge portion and my dad ended up taking half of it home. He said it had really great flavor. All the sushi tasted extremely fresh and I was especially impressed by the nigiri in the sushi combo. The rolls were also really great and filling and prices were super reasonable for everything. I didn't realize the caribbean roll came with wasabi sauce in it (I don't like wasabi), but the sauce actually had a great flavor and wasn't too spicy. I've always heard great things about this spot so i'm glad I finally got to check it out!

The food is always great...fresh and tasty! I love the fact when Ferry sees me and gets me my table right away! Unfortunately, today they had their internet out, kitchen was chaos however when I walked in, I was greeted by smiling face and sat down. He made sure I was taken care of the whole time I was there. He was watching me like a hawk and making sure I was taking care of. This place is under the same ownership of Miso however.....this place has a lot better service then Miso. Please don't get me wrong, the quality of food is exceptional @ both places but I think Miso can learn a lot from the great service of Sapporo East!

Everything was amazing. The service was kind and attentive, and the food came out quickly. We ordered the Sunset Roll and the Sashimi Combination. The Sunset Roll was good, but we were blown away by the Sashimi. For around 26 dollars, we got 15 pieces of beautiful fish. The tuna was not bitter, and you could taste it well. The white tuna was sweet and savory. The yellowtail was similar to the white tuna in flavor. The octopus was chewy, but not that chewy. The real star of the show was the salmon. It was arranged in a beautiful rose and was so savory and flavorful. The pieces were very big and all of it was extremely fresh. The restaurant was clean and had alright ambience but the food made up for it.

Japanese Crabcake has been the best thing on the menu ever since we started going there, many years ago.

(You can notice some of the warrior samurai hall banner decor and menu art styles are similar!) The food at Asoul Ramen is delicious; my hubby got the traditional pork shoyu ramen in spicy tonkatsu broth which had a perfectly cooked egg and rich flavor with chewy noodles. I got the Japanese katsu curry (pork option) with rice which was perfectly breaded and paired beautifully with the curry sauce with potato and carrot. It was so good dipped into the sauce!! Also not too salty. Good portion and was served with a little bowl of miso soup and a little salad with lettuce and carrot drizzled with a very tasty gingery dressing. Not to mention the restaurant is insanely aesthetic!!! Gorgeous interior with honeycomb themed tables! And pink cherry blossom tree decorations up front near their gelato section. I need to go back to try those! They have flavors like pistachio and ube/taro churning in the entryway. They're honestly so smart

Food was phenomenal: rich tonkotsu shoyu broth, tender chashu, perfectly cooked noodles, and the spicy beef ramen had just the right kick. Friendly service, quick even on a busy night, and great iced tea. If you're near Camp Hill/Capital City Mall and want amazing ramen in a stunning setting, go now. We're already planning round two!

Again called about 12:30 noon, just as previous but a different day and time; it seems we can't ever get seated where we want, due to not calling ahead for reservations! The first time we experienced this it was on a Saturday night about 6 pm... Yes, it was crowded and people waiting for tables; (We called around 4:15pm for reservation, but the young lady said she couldn't accept any more reservations until after 6pm. However, after arriving we told we should have made a reservation. We tried explaining that- but the Staff looked puzzled So, when we were given a high top table at the bar area- beggars can't be choosy. On today- we became "Patron Beggars" again for no apparent reason... The older woman at the desk, appeared a bit short fused- and the first thing she asked... Do you have a reservation? We responded with the exact same answer- we called but were told you were booked... It was not a FULL crowd! Booths were opened, tables sitting empty - but were BOOKED! She offered us a booth in the immediate entrance area that was open- but it was cold, damp and raining at about 1:15 pm on a Sunday! I suggested to my husband, let's find another restaurant- then she offered the high top table, or a small booth by the bathroom. We agreed to the small booth! Needless to say- our thoughts about spending all this money... Make it make Sense! I really felt, like I should be happy where ever Im seated. Not good Customer Service!! Our waitress Angel was good, attentive! She frequently visited our table in short interval! She was friendly- she asked my husband what was name, in which he couldn't remember . Then she asked him, what was his name? So, that's how that went! Great Servers! Our order STRAWBERRY CRUNCH SALAD Arugula, strawberries, slivered almonds, avocado and crumbled goat cheese tossed in housemade honey mustard vinaigrette - 14 (Arrive appetizing but quite small portion size). Glass of Sangria (Arrived with ice), never asked for it{Garnished with a dry lemon and lime that looked like it climbed to the top of the glass and died from extreme thirst}. Awwww!! I'm done writing- you get the picture by now! I don't know... It may be a while Oh yeah, Angel did get a 20% tip!

Very lite on the cheese and chicken. Small portion for the price. Would not recommend this selection. Had not been there in a long time.
